1 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 01/15/2008

Purchased 2005 Nissan Titan truck on 2/1/2005. On 4/21/05 with 6,000 miles, truck shook/shimmied when applying brakes. Under warranty, Nissan dealer replaced front pads and resurfaced the front rotors. On 6/23/05 with 11,000 miles, truck again shook/shimmied when applying brakes. Still under warranty, Nissan dealer replaced front and rear pads and rotors again! on 1/14/08, needed to replace the crappy goodyear wrangler sr-a (p265/70r18) tires that came with the truck (also had 3 flat tires) even though I rotated them regularly (less than 40,000 miles). Today, the tire center indicated I needed new brakes. Called Nissan dealer and am again taking the truck into service to correct and get new rotors/pads. By the way, the warranty on my truck for this repair runs out on 2/1/08. Going forward, I will have to be responsible to pay. This stinks! how come there hasn't been a recall and corrective procedure implemented? $37,000 vehicle!.

2 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 01/03/2007

Bad vibration when braking so bad in fact had to leave the road to avoid traffic. No injuries to people, property, or vehicles. Happened 2 miles from home so went home first. A quick call to my attorneys office led me to the nhts. Dot. Gov site. I was shocked of all the complaints I read about on these trucks and still no recall? that's just irresponsible! printed out a bunch on complaints and headed into my local Nissan dealer. Went to the service manager introduced myself and asked him if they have any problems with the Nissan Titans brakes the service manager said I'm not aware of any. So I handed him the complaints from this site and asked if he could explain it to me. Within minutes they road tested my truck and said yes there is a problem. The service manager said they would fix my truck right away and Nissan was giving the brakes on these trucks warranties for 10 year or 100,000 miles. They called me a rental car, paid for it, and said they could finish the work today. Work order replaced front brake rotors. Pads and torque members replaced rear brake pads and resurfaced rear rotors parts: 2 40206-zc00a rotor disc brake 1 41060-zc027 pad kit - disc 1 44060-zc025 pad kit - disc br 4 41005-7s000 bolt took them a few hours to finish the repairs I was optimistic to see they got right after the problem hopefully that fixes it. I would still like to have that 10y/100k brake warranty in writing. We will see if this is just a work around or a fix time will tell. I'll post more info as I receive it. B.

3 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2006 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 12/20/2006

Brakes - replaced 3 times within 16000 miles. Would have been more or sooner if I had known how to identify the problem earlier. There are no specific events that lead to the these warranty replacements. I was reassured that my normal driving did not contribute to the problems. Rear axle replacement - 15800 miles. This was also not due to my normal driving, as reassured by the Nissan service station. I was literally shaken off the road. The truck had to be towed back to the service station, after they told me that the vibration I felt was probably due to some tire cupping when I had brought it in the day before. The automatic transmission was jerking and running at higher than normal rpm in idle and reverse. New transmission valve body replaced under warranty at 15800 miles also. All the brakes were replaced merely 1 week after my new transmission valve body and rear end were replaced. I had driven almost 600 miles. I am now driving a rental car, paying out of pocket because I am too scared to lose control of a car that might have a total brake failure causing harm to myself or other drivers/pedestrians. I originally bought this car new in March 2006; with 6 miles on it.

4 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 10/20/2006

My entire rear axle had to be replaced at 31,500 miles on my Nissan Titan. It started howling and smoking when driving to moab. The dealer replaced the entire rear axle. Thankfully I was not at highway speeds when the rear end failed. In addition, the vehicle has had 4 sets of brakes/rotors/calipers on the vehicle and is starting to exhibit signs of needing the fix again.

5 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 06/26/2005

Front brakes causing heavy steering wheel shaking along with feeling of truck frontend bouncing and leaving road contact when brakes are applied have contacted local dealer who stated no mandated recall for this braking problem although they are aware of some other similar complaints about the brakes not working correctly and causing loss of steering ability due the wheel shudder.

6 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 06/21/2005

Purchased a new 2004 Nissan Titan le truck on 10/23/2004 and it has since had to have new brake pads and rotors 3 times in 7 months with only 19281 miles driven on the truck. The first replacement was at 4662 miles on 12/13/04, the 2nd replacement was at 8416 miles on 1/26/05, 3rd replacment was at 15755 miles on 4/26/05 and 4th replacement is needed now. When the pads and rotors start failing, very harsh steering vibrations occur when the brakes are applied. This has a great potential for causing serious accidents especially in inclimate weather. I have complined to the dealership where I have had it serviced all 3 times so far and I have also contacted Nissan's customer service department and have yet to recieve any information that they have a fix for this problem except to continue to replace the pads and rotors every 2000-3000 miles, but what happens when the warranty runs out at 36000 miles. This problem should be addressed and not left to cause a serious accident or death. I know I am not the only person having problems with the brakes because if you google search Nissan Titan brake problems on the web you will find numerous forums of people discussing the same problems I am having with my brakes. Please help with this issue before it is to late and someone is killed.

7 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 06/13/2005

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact said dealership stated there was a defect within the brake pads/rotors. The brake pads overheated or got very hot and warped the rotors. When ever this happened it caused vibration when stopping. Vehicle was shaking tremendously, and it was hard to control vehicle on the road. Also, said every 3000-5000 miles they would have to replace the brake pads, and the rotors. This was an ongoing problem. Dealership insisted there was no solution to the problem. This caused wear to the two front tires.

9 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 03/05/2005

Front rotors warping which causes poor drivability and difficulty controlling the vehicle under normal braking conditions. Nissan has issued a TSB and vehicle was serviced under this TSB at 4000 miles, problem recurred at 7500 miles. Nissan service states there has been many complaints with this vehicle and will again service at no cost. I am unaware at this time if this will fix the problem.

11 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 01/10/2005

Steering shakes violently when brakes are applied. Very hard to control at freeway speeds. Had it repaired at dealership at 9k miles, its back again at 13k. I cant believe Nissan has not recalled this yet - its a lawsuit waiting to happen, and even worse a real safety hazard for everyone on the road.
