Metal brake line rupture and complete brake failure. The rear metal brake line crossover from the passenger side to the driver side that is attached to the rear axle just above the jackpot cover ruptured. Brake pedal went to the floor each time it was pressed without hesitation and had no braking control at all. Brake fluid was everywhere under the truck, on the drive wheels, and on the pavement causing its own hazardous condition along with no brakes. Fortunately this happened in my driveway and not while I tow my 10,000lb trailer down the highway. That would not have ended pretty.

The brakes failed due to a pin hole in the left front brake line. There are three fittings that are in the same location on the truck. All three showed signs of corrosion. The one that failed looks like it had been damaged on installation. This truck is over 11 years old and has spent most of the time outside. It has been located in south florida the entire time so has not seen any salt. All the other fittings and lines look fine. You can see from the picture the flat spot associated with the hole. There has been no work done on this line since the truck was new. (I am the original owner) I have the failed line. I repaired it myself with parts from the local Nissan dealer. The failure occurred with the truck on my property and there was no accident involved. See attached photo of the hole in the line. This line comes from the abs unit to a fitting close to the front wheel.

Rear drum brake liner detached from backing plate while driving. A loud banging noise was made. The vehicle was immediately driven to a Nissan dealer. A loaner car was offered to me. A technician diagnosed the following; the brake liner caused nonrepairable damage to abs sensor, drive shaft, dust shield, and brake pads. The truck had 65,757 miles on the truck. Parts took 6 days to order. The bill was $2,300. Nissan honored warranty on the drive shaft. Total bill was $1,232,48. The damage was caused by the brake liner detaching from the backing plate, the loose brake pad caused the destruction. Other work performed was repair of the evap system.

- the contact took the 2004 Nissan Titan to the dealer in san antonio, TX for service because he could hear noises coming from the driver's side area. The dealer stated that brake line sheared off the firewall and was rubbing and hitting against the firewall and air conditioner line. They fixed the failure by repositioning the brake fluid line and reattaching it to the firewall. The contact stated that there wasn't any prior warning before failure. Updated 02/22/07.
I purchased this vehicle on 5/29/06 from victory Nissan of richmond. One week later property was stolen when a sunroof was installed. At the end of June, brakes failed and passenger air bag light started going on intermittently. Also, driver seat is crooked. Dealer said they bled the brakes and clutch(?). This is an automatic. Also, there was nothing wrong with the passenger air bag (then why does light keep coming on and staying on?) and there is nothing wrong with the seat. Last night (8/15/06) my brakes failed again. Vehicle was towed to dealer this morning. I advise the service manager that these were life safety issues and should fall under the lemon law. I was advised the lemon law wasn't their problem and I would have to contact Nissan USA for assistance. Is it still not their concern when the faulty product they sold fails and causes loss of life???.

3'rd brake line rupture. All the connectors under or around bottom of frame appear rusted. I'm getting afraid to drive it. It seems these lines should have been made from a component that would not rust. I can't be the only one with this issue.
