Check Engine Light On Problems of Nissan Titan

I was sitting at a light waiting to turn left. The engine started to idle at almost 2000 toms. I went to accelerate to turn left and I had complete loss of power in the intersection. The engine would not go above idle speed of about 1100 rpm. The check engine light came on. I had to pull over. The code reader says the idle air controller has a fault. This is the second time this has happened but the first time it happened. In a dangerous intersection.

While traveling down highway the check engine light illuminated and I lost all power. I had to get to the side of the highway fast before I got rear ended. This vehicle is extremely dangerous. I purchased used with 10,000 miles on it and this is the second time the engine has lost complete power with no advance notice. First repair by Nissan dealership was blown valve and turbo problems. 8,000 miles later the turbo is throwing error code p2662. This truck is heading towards lemon status with the terrible 5. 0 v8 and it's no wonder Nissan stopped offering the diesel option. Other problem the rear door exterior panel rattles when at 45mph or higher and is quite annoying for a supposed platinum model. I'm beyond disappointed in this vehicle and it should be pulled off the road before someone gets seriously hurt or killed from instant loss of power while in motion. I'm in shock that this diesel motor isn't under investigation. Nissan doesn't have adequate diesel technicians to address these problems. Nissan or cummins need to recall this truck immediately.

Yellow check engine light comes on and loss of power, truck will jerk back and forth like theres no fuel then will shoot off. This has happened many times with no light on. Ive taken my truck to the dealer to be told the check engine light came on for def low and braking too many times. Driving normal and a red indicator light comes on with yellow check engine light and truck saying reduced engine power and I pull over and turn truck off for a few mins and everything is off. Truck many times wont go past 3 rpms. Many times while driving I cant accelerate and no lights are showing. Nissan dealerships I believe dont know anything about this truck and is clearing codes without fixing the problem. Ive asked to see the code list and was refused. Recall on ecm same issues were happening and the recall was fixed to update ecm but the dealership actually fried my ecm and had my truck for 45 days trying to get it started. Same problems as before which I believe something else again is wrong with this truck. Many Titan owners are having the same problem, dealership state they cant duplicate the issue which if they tried they would succeed but trying and having a vehicle only get 5 miles on while at dealership is highly suspicious. Dealership doesnt fully listen. Transmission has had a hard knock into gear since day one and was told that's normal for my transmission. I see the same problems being said by alot of owners and nothings being done about it. I've been having these issues since I bought my truck Jan 31 2017.

During normal driving the check engine light comes on periodically and the engine goes into limp mode for no apparent reason. There is no acceleration and you typically cannot get above 15 mph. Today was the fourth time I have experienced this issue. The dealer has a new turbo on order but is not confident this will cure the issue. The previous episode nearly caused an accident by a distracted driver when I couldn't accelerate through an intersection left turn with plenty of space and time. The accelerator pedal has no response to the engine and there is no prior warning. The check engine light may or may not illuminate. Today the engine went into limp mode when acceleration from a dead stop at an intersection. The truck never achieved more than 10 mph and when I removed my foot from the accelerator the engine died. Luckily I was at an intersection with traffic lights and it was downhill so I could coast through the intersection to the shoulder. I placed the truck into park and restarted the vehicle without further incident to my home.

Coming off a highway at around 50 mph the yellow check engine light came on and the engine started making a "popping" sound and jerking as if misfiring. Connected a code reader to truck and 5 issues were found. Engine codes p0544, p244d, p242d & p242c were listed stating "exhaust gas temp sensor" and "exhaust temp high for dpf" along with code p0204 "number 4 fuel injector circuit open". Had vehicle towed to dealership and the diesel mechanic stated the "graved connector f131 on cylinder #4 was at fault and that the connector "spread terminals were causing poor contact with injector". Stated the engine control harness (wiring harness), needed replacing. Vehicle had only ~62500 miles on it at the time.

I went in to get a truck on July 11th. . . They had to get the truck started by jumping the battery that they said would be replaced. While rushing us without offering a test drive insurring the truck was sound and mechanically stable. We then drove off in the 2004 Nissan Titan and all the lights on the dash came on shortly after. Vrd abs and brake as well as check engine light. The brakes then went out on us as we reached out home. The next day we informed them of what happened, they said it was just water on the brakes to give it a day and see what it does. It happened again and when we took it back they said the mechanic was gone to come back. Thats when we noticed the cara registration was for another vehicle and started to wonder if they had taken the car to emmisions at all. Check engine light was om since we left the lot. Before our first payment I spent $900 on parts had roadside called 4 times and replaced the battery. The truck didnt last to the first payment. Completely lost all braking power. This truck was taken to a mechanic that told us it would not have passed emissions when we got it because the history on the check engine light showed it was only cleared and not addressed.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that there was a strong odor of fuel present. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 77,000.

I think it was in 2009 when I took my vehicle to Nissan to check engine light and light smoke out of exhaust. Ran diagnostic and found out that catalytic converters broke up and broken material went back (suckback) into engine and damaged piston rings which was causing it to smoke. Told me I needed to replace engine cause it was pretty much no good. This truck was 3 yrs. Old at the time. Warranty was out and was and cost me a fortune to replace engine and exhaust system. I had no idea til now how many 2006 Titan owners have had the same issue. This has to be recalled.
