The 2013 Nissan Titan randomly shuts off. Started this year sometime in March and has continued through the year. It will start back up when you put the truck and neutral and turn the key back over. And will run like nothing happened. The majority of the time it shuts off when accelerating from a stop light, stop sign. It is random and may only happen once a week or could happen 3 times or more a week. Also it has went up to 3 weeks and not shut off. The Nissan dealership in winston salem looked at it and kept the truck for a week and drove it. It does not though any codes and was not fixed. It is very dangerous. It has cut off on my kids and I while going through an intersection. I have now had other people look at it. And it has them puzzled. Now I'm stuck making payments on a truck that could get us hurt or killed.

On 05/22/2015, traveling on interstate highway at or near posted speed in mild sunny weather. The truck just shut off in lane of traffic. There was no hesitation, noise, alarm, warning lights just shut down. There was no power steering or power brakes. Pulled vehicle over to rh shoulder and tried to restart it with out success. On 05/18/2015, I had the truck serviced and inspected at a Nissan dealership in anticipation of this road trip. The truck passed dealer inspection. I had the truck towed to a Nissan dealer service center and after several days the dealer told me the ecm had failed and shorted out the ignition switch. The repair bill was a little over $1400. I am not objecting to the cost of repair. . . . I am concerned about the truck just stopping on the highway without warning. If this breakdown would have happened in the middle or driving lanes of a nearby freeway, or on a steep incline with turns the results may have been very bad. The dealership said the short and failure of the ecm were a result of a leak in the exhaust system (same one that passed inspection) and heat shorted the wiring harness. I feel the wiring harness may be too close to the heat of the exhaust system and could have been isolated as not to cause failure. Updated 8/31/cn.

Driving 70 mph on interstate with cruise control on, engine just stopped. Coasted to side of road. Nissan dealer diagnosed problem as failed ipdm (intergrated power distribution module). New part seems to have solved the problem. Dealers mechanic said the factory told him they had experienced problems with these parts. It's very unnerving to have the engine shut off on a busy 6 lane highway. Vehicle is a 2004 Nissan Titan.
On 03/27/2006 driving to work in my 2005 Nissan Titan VIN# 1n6ba07a65n519341 pickup accelerated on its on. I was stop at a stop light merging in to traffic when it accelerated forward by it self and with my foot on the brake. When this accrued I tried to put it in to neutral, still nothing happen, even with both of my feet barring down on the brake the tires where burning rubber and I was still moving slowly forward. Finally I turned the ignition off and it shut down, I waited a few moments and tried to start the engine again. At this time it did it again and turn the engine off again, waited a few more minutes and tried again, at this time it started correctly and I drove it directly to kraft Nissan dealership for there service department. Kraft Nissan took the afternoon to look over the truck, at around 3:01 pm the service writer called and said that they could not duplicate the problem and my truck is ready to be picked up. I said that the problem is real and that they need to find it, they said if problem canã‚t be seen they canã‚t fix it. I talk with the service manager and then called Nissan and was basically told the same thing. The service manager said to drive the vehicle and if the problem happens again they can try to solve at that time. Also was told that my foot could have been on the brake and gas paddle at the same time, told him that would have been impossible because both of my feet where pressing the brake peddle to the floor board to stop the truck.
