Nhtsa I own a 2021 Nissan Titan. I am deeply concerned that I have defective air bags. I have had 2 collisions in my vehicle at high rates of speed and none deployed either time. I now fear that this vehicle will not protect me in the unfortunate case of another collision. I do understand they will not deploy under every condition, but I do expect additional protection outside of a seatbelt in a collision at a high rate of speed. In the first collision, I was going 45 mph. I had injuries to my neck and back. I had extensive work done to the suspension, drivers door, headlight, fender, bumper, grill, and the hood. In my second collision, a deer ran into my truck while I was traveling at 70 mph. The head of the deer damaged the headlight and wiring harness, the bumper, grill, and hood and its body heavily damaged my passenger front door and fender. My passenger rear door also had some damage. No injuries occurred but the impacts should have caused a deployment. I am aware that there was a recall on 2021 & 2024 Titans about the air bags having a delayed or failed deployment however I received no letter from this, neither is this in any of my printed service records. I would like Nissan to inspect my air bag system to see if there’s a defect that is causing them not to deploy or to make sure that my Titan was not missed in the group of trucks that had this defect, that way the recall can be extended to more 2021 Titans. I am in fear to drive this truck due to the fact that it may not protect me in the case of another accident. I am ready to purchase another Titan and have been loyal to the Nissan brand after owning 4 altimas, 1 armada, and soon to be 2 Titans.

Bought my 2023 Nissan Titan pro-4x from dealership may of 2023. Never been involved in a collision. So there should be no reason it feels as if something is loose on the underside. There have been similar reports of this vibration/shaking such as this one: “Nissan Titan pro-4x 4wd was bought new from dealership. Have had issues with the truck downshifting hard when slowing down since purchase. The truck lurches forward under 5mph - 10mph and feels like you are being rearended by another vehicle. Identical issue to NHTSA complaints 11578467 and 11539769. ” I have also had it happen once so far. I have been driving no more than maybe 10mph and it recognized something in front of the sensor and the truck slammed on the brakes to a stop. Mind you I was in an empty parking lot. On long drives, my forward collision sensor will randomly illuminate for no reason. It was do it in all season but more frequently in the winter. I used to own a 2017 Nissan Titan sv. Never once had an issue. I’m not sure what’s going on with Nissans quality control but this is insane. I would honestly like some sort of remedy before I have no other choice than to trade the truck in. .

The truck was parked on hill and as I unlocked it, it rolled down 2 blocks. Hit a brick wall and finally went into a yard and hit a parked car. This is the second time this truck has rolled down. First time, I was able to catch it but this time I couldn’t. It was horrific to witness.
Left rear u-broke.

Nissan of irvine failed to put all six lug nuts back on my driver side rear tire after a tire rotation. As I was getting on the freeway less than a mile from the dealership I began to lose control of my truck and my wheel came off.

When accelerating from a stop getting on highway or traffic a few times now in light rain the truck went sideways on me or even after stopping at a traffic light it's as if there's ice on the road like the tires are bald rim and tires don't crab the road like they should especially the front right passenger side dealership said the tires were new but it's like the tire and rim don't spend at the same time and then a clunk like a slipped gear back tires don't have traction but the tires are new and have good tread. When going over speed bumps the trucks right passenger side has made a metal to metal loud noise dear said nothings wrong. Since about a month or less of driving the right front tire has caused the warning light on the dash to come on dealer told me just go put air in the tire now these are new tires why would this be happening any bumps I hit the truck hits hard going slow sounds horrible. I feel in the rain or even normal weather this truck shouldn't be slipping spinning out it's a hazard to me and others on the road.

Pro comp lift kit was installed by dealership. In January 29, 2018 while traveling at about 20 mph on a flat, paved, residential city street, a "nut/bolt" came off, causing the suspension to collapse. This caused the vehicle to become incapacitated, when left rear tire was pushed into rear wheel well. There are also issues with front left tire rubbing against wheel well and "slipping" when turning to park.
Shackle on right side peeled off the frame stud and drove the spring and shackle assembly through the truck bed.
Rear axle seal leaks in this model it is a known problem yet Nissan still chooses to do nothing about it ,it is a huge safety issue it leaks fluid continuously on to the back breaking system so not only could it comprise your whole back end but also your ability to stop your vehicle safely, this has been reported thousands of times to your agency in the meantime the consumers continue to replace these every 30-40,000 miles just to maintain their safety and others on the road when I feel it is time Nissan address this and take the necessary steps to ensure the braking system in these vehicles is not creating a potential hazard top the driver or others on the road . I took my vehicle in for an oil change yesterday only to find out my seal is leaking again and now my back brakes need to be replaced again because they are no longer safe due to the oil leaking on them again from this seal I drive my children in this vehicle daily to school to games and im thankful that I happened to need an oil change or I would have had no idea it was leaking again or just how unsafe my driving this vehicle could potentially be for my children and myself or anybody that is driving near me when it requires braking to stop .

The weld on the left rear shackle that holds the leaf spring in place rusted through and the leaf spring pushed up through the bottom of the truck bed causing a hole. In my opinion based on my inspection the weld failed due to rust. I purchased the vehicle brand new in 2006 and had corrosion protection applied. This type of wear and tear should not happen to a vehicle like this. I have taken photos to document the damage. I am going to take the vehicle to Nissan to review the issue.

Right rear spring shackle broke at the welds while driving allowing the leaf spring to be thrust up against the under side of the bed. By luck or other I was to be towing our travel trailer later in the day for the holiday weekend. A cursory search found a high number of complaints of broken shackles in model year 04-07. Shackles appear to have been upgraded in model year 08. This failure could have easily caused a serious accident to self or others had the axle shifted resulting in loss of control.
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, when the brake pedal was depressed, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle which caused the contact to crash into a side wall. A police report was filed. The contact had sustained injuries to the arms and neck which did not require medical attention. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000. The VIN was unavailable. A preliminary investigation suggests the lower control link assembly may have separated casing the consumer to lose steering ability. Recall 10e019000 was referenced in the complaint. Updated 04/20/jb.
Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the rear end locked up causing the vehicle to come to a complete halt before it stalled. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact stated that there was two cracked manifolds. The vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The technician verified the failure. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000. Pam.
Driver side axle shaft pop out of front differential and the front differential no longer works.
This will be the 3rd rear differential on this truck. The first blew on warranty at approx 10k miles. Now with 56k miles the 2nd dana rear axle has blown. I don't off road and tow only a motorcycle trailer. This is obscene, time consuming and very costly ($3,630. 00) to fix and days waiting away from home. This isn't right.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the rear leaf spring fractured and punctured the bed of the truck. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the technician diagnosed that the rear leaf spring needed to be replaced. No repairs were made to the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of failure. The failure and current mileage was 28,000.
I was driving down the highway when all of a sudden I heard a noise from my backend and almost lost control of my truck. I got out and checked to find my leaf spring busted and sticking through my truck bed. I called Nissan of north America and they are unwilling to offer any help because of it being a used vehicle. It seems it would be more cost effective to do a recall now until waiting until someone is killed. When I asked the young lady what happens next time when the other side goes and I get into a fatal accident killing myself or someone else? her reply was that we will have to address that when it happens. What lousy customer service.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the rear axle seals were leaking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was confirmed. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving 15 mph, the rear of the vehicle exhibited a loud pop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the rear differential failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.
I drove my Nissan out of the driveway, it started slipping, grinding. The transmission fluid check light would not come on at all, ever since I had it. Turns out transmission fluid tank empty. I was on major highway, could go 40 miles an hour, jerked out of gear with traffic behind me. Had tow it to transmission shop and transmission burned out. Faulty transmission light failed to warn me of problems. Nissan owners manual does not instruct you to check transmission fluid. It directs you to dealership. Had no warning light to alert me. Could have gotten killed.
When I stepped on the brakes to start stopping, it didn't feel like it was grabbing and I really had to stand on the pedal to stop before I hit the car in front of me. When I got home, I looked at all my brakes and found that the rear axle seal on the driver's side was leaking. Grease/oil was all over the rear brakes. I have had the seal replaced 3 times now. This is ridiculous and is a safety hazard. The dealer wants $1800 to do it again!! we need a recall.
Leaf spring squeaking noise and also just had the rear replace on this vehicle I just bought this vehicle a year ago I don't do no hauling was so ever on this truck I did some research and Nissan knows about this problem but the don't want to do nothing rear, shackles, leaf spring.
At all times when driving down the road the rear end of my truck shakes from 55-80 miles per hour (pretty much the usable speed range of the truck is now worthless). The truck wobbles so much now that it feels unsafe to drive even after numerous attempts to correct the problem I. E. New tires, new rims and new tires, balancing, alignments. Research that I have done has determined that this is a very wide-spread problem and many owners/operators of the Nissan Titan refer to this violent shacking as the "death wobble" I have spoke with my local Nissan dealership and have discovered that Nissan of America is not interested in addressing this epidemic that is effecting so many of the Titans they have manufactured. The problem is large enough that Nissan has published a TSB which includes necessary parts that must be purchased that may only alleviate the "death wobble" and not cure it. I am sad that Nissan of America is not standing behind its product to fix an issue that is clearly hazardous not only to the owner/operator of the Titan, but all those that are sharing the road with these affected vehicles. My personal note is that my truck feels so hazardous that I will no longer transport my wife or my 3 children in it and I think something should be done to fix this issue.

Fourth right rear axle seal. Second in two weeks.
Catastrophic failure of the leaf spring on driver side rear of the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the while driving 40 mph, the rear of the vehicle started exhibiting a clicking sound and felt as it were attempting to seize. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the drive knuckle that was within the differential had failed. The dealer also stated that the manufacturer would not replace parts on the differential and the contact would have to purchase an entire rear end for the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 128,000.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle shook violently without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the front and rear differential and axles needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage and current mileage was 138,000.
A-arm broke tire ripped in to side of truck.
Front differential started making noise, when mechanics opened it, they said it was impossible to rebuild and I need a brand new assembly. (too much internal damage. ) for the mileage this truck has, this part failed way to early. Mechanic said it happened because of its poor design. Now truck has 60,000 miles and rear differential started to leak.
Was leaving a parking lot and when turning to the left felt a bump like something had been run over. Drove home and felt bump several more times when turning left only. Removed fill plug and saw pieces on metal on drain plug magnet. Had vehicle towed to dealer and was told axle had failed and needed to be replaced. Vehicle gave no warning signs and had all scheduled service done.
