42 Suspension problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 09/05/2011

I have a 2005 Nissan Titan with only 44000 miles on it. During recent driving it sounded as if the right rear was grinding to pieces. It continually got worse so I looked under the truck to see if there was something that was caught and dragging. It was so loud that people would stare at the truck when it passed by. After it was taken to the garage they discovered that the insides of the right rear axle were almost completely torn apart. It was very fortunate that it did not cause a serious problem while driving. They also found that the left axle was leaking and would likely also break down. The cost to repair the truck was over $1700. 00.

43 Suspension problem of the 2006 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 09/01/2011

At 38,000 miles the drive side rear axle seal on my 2006 Nissan Titan started leaking spreading grease all over the inside of the wheel. This was not in any way due to neglect of the vehicle, off road 4-wheel drive driving or via auto accident as I drive exclusively on paved roads and the truck has never been in an accident. I feel this could easily have covered my brakes with grease and oil and caused longer stopping distances which of course could lead to accidents.

47 Suspension problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 11/30/2010

At 39,800 miles the power steering hose went bad and leaked. At 51,000 miles the circular clip on the axle at front left differential deformed causing axle to begin to fall out of vehicle!!! thankfully all has been covered under our extended warranty, and dealerships have replaced parts, but when it runs out these will come from our pocket, and no one can guarantee the new parts are not just replacements or any better. This could have resulted in death or injury to us or someone else had that axle fell from vehicle, and could occur again.

49 Suspension problem of the 2007 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 08/18/2010

I own a 2007 Nissan Titan. When I drive the vehicle, the steering wheel feels like it is slipping. It doesn't feel stable even when I am going straight. I'm sure its not the alignment but has to do with the suspension. I have had problems with the steering controls before because last spring during the raining season my vehicle slipped out of control when I was driving straight with the 4 wheel drive on going about 40 mph on the 15 freeway. I felt during that time it was the rain that caused me to slip but after that incident it has gradually gotten worse. I have ask Nissan to take a look but they wanted to charge me $130 just for an inspection. My vehicle has not been in any accidents nor any repair was done to the vehicle since I have purchased it. I feel that this is a very big safety issue and that it endangers the life of my family and also the public.

1. I own a 2006 Nissan Titan crew cab se. After normal driving of the vehicle for 2 years and 2 months the vehicle requires an alignment. The vehicle has no way to adjust the camber. There was no camber kit installed on the vehicle from the factory. Every manufacturer knows that part of proper maintenance is realigning the vehicle. 2. I have searched the internet to find out if other Titan owners have had this problem and I have found numerous blogs of 2006 Nissan Titans having the same problem. This is the only year I have found that Nissan failed to provide the ability to align the vehicle. 3. Nissan has done nothing to correct this problem. Numerous problems have arisen with my leased 2004 Nissan Titan king cab. Including serious vibration problems that occurred upon braking to the point the vehicle was parked until the dealer finally agreed to at least 'turn' the rotors. Eventually brakes were replaced by dealer 6 months after the initial problem. Currently facing problems including a noise at startup that everyone can hear except the dealer mechanics, an overflow problem with gas tank even though just a few liters have been put in an empty tank. Additionally major problems with driver side door refusing to open from both the inside and outside. Dealer has realigned door numerous times but problem continues. Dealer states the door problem is due to a poor design with a heavy door on inadequate hinges. Occasionally have had to drive while holding door closed. Extremely dangerous considering weight of door. This truck is barely one year old and problems just keep piling up with little dealer support offered.
