8 Car Stall problem of the 2015 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 04/23/2019

I had previously made Nissan aware of a problem with my car stalling and shutting off. They assured me nothing was wrong with the vehicle, the car continued to stall and would not accelerate. Months later it would not accelerate and would decrease in speed while I was driving on the freeway. The vehicle would also not move when I would press on the gas at a red light or stop; I would have to turn it off and back on. Then it started to fail going in reverse and shutting off again while driving. Many other Nissan Versa owners have complaint of vehicles stalling. The vehicles are a huge safety concern and I believe Nissan knows this. I have now been told that the transmission does not work. Why has Nissan not done something about the terrible transmissions?.

11 Car Stall problem of the 2014 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 11/20/2018

While driving my Nissan Versa I need to let it warm up completely. When I say completely I mean wait about 10-15 min before driving off. If I do not my car will stall when I press the breaks. This has happened many many times. Some times it doesnt but now that it is colder weather it does it more often. If I do leave before it warms up I expect it to stall at the stop sign, light, turn, or traffic. I usually have to kick it into park turn the car off and back on. I will do this multiple times until its warmed up. Sometimes it wont even want to work again until its warmed up so sometimes im just stuck in traffic or the side of the road. Today my car did this several times. I work only about 7 miles from my house and it stalled 5 times.

13 Car Stall problem of the 2014 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 07/24/2018

On 7/24/18 while driving my 2014 Nissan Versa on north I-15 near charleston blvd in construction stop and go traffic, I had slowed to a stop based on traffic. As the traffic began to move, I tried to accelerate and car sputtered, but moved and then aftet driving a quarter of a mile at a speed of 25 mph, the car just stopped while in drive. All dsahboards lights and engine indication came on. Luckily the car behind me screeched to stop. I immediately put on hazards and pulled emergency brake and put car in park. I tried to restart car and it wouldn't start. After five minutes, the car started and I was able to drive home. I advised my daughter and told her I would put car in shop. On 7/26/18, I took car to auto care for assessment. My vehicle had only 31,290 miles on it. They found nothing wrong but out of concern, I had a 30,000 mile service done on car. On 8/3/18, I was advised by another driver that my brake lights were not working. I went home and my daughter saw that the lights were out also. I checked as she braked and no lights. I drove on hazards to auto repair and they checked vehicle and lights worked. They stated maybe an electrical shortage but return if lights go out again. From the time I purchased this car brand new in March of 2014, I have taken it back to Nissan for lack of power, sputtering at stops and intermittent stalls. Nissan replaced oxygen sensor a year ago when car stopped while driving and advised that it's a small car so won't have a lot of power. On 8/23/18, I received notice from Nissan regarding sudden stops and to bring car to dealer for repair. I am afraid to drive the vehicle or have my grandchildren with me when I drive. The car stutters at stop and hesitation is constant. I'm not sure Nissan can repair this issue.

18 Car Stall problem of the 2009 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 01/31/2016

Driving on the highway car tends to lose power and sputter and in some cases it will stall. When trying to restart it, it will not start. This can be very dangerous. Also, if driving this vehicle and then shutting the engine off you can not restart it without waiting at least 30 minutes. My 16 year old has been driving this car and the first instance it happened was while she was driving it. She lost all power and was not even able to use her brakes. She came very close to hitting a wall but was able to steer it away but steering was very difficult as well. We replaced the fuel pump thinking it wasn't getting enough gas but this still hasn't fixed the issue. We are told by mechanics that the problem can't be duplicated therefore it can't be fixed. I bought this car used and I can't believe that Nissan has not recalled this car due to many complaints with this issue. I guess someone has to lose their life before they will fix it. This is a common problem with the Versa and Nissan takes no responsibility for it. Please look into it and fix it before someone dies.

19 Car Stall problem of the 2007 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 12/04/2015

Over the course of the last 3 years, my 110,000 mile Versa stalls and does not start, randomly. Sometimes in driveway, sometimes stall mid-drive. Sometimes after driving highway or residential fine after turning off, and returning it won't start. Sometimes after this it will restart after taking a break and then trying again a third or fourth time. You never know. 4 mechanic shops, including Nissan dealership (twice) could not figure it out. No diagnostic is clear on the issue. One mechanic found a theft/security code come up, but both sets of keys work and both remote locks work. I called the lock reset people and they said it sounds more like a computer problem. Frustrating and dangerous. I do all the required and recommended maintenance and checks. This is bad.

21 Car Stall problem of the 2013 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 04/06/2015

I experienced my car shaking, reving up and then stallining at a parking lot. Upon trying to get on the freeway the car stalled on the freeway on ramp. Once starting the car, I had to depress the accelerator all the way down for the car to get up to 20 mi/hr. The car maintained this speed for 4-5 mi, suddenly the car would accelerate to 60mi/hr at which point I nearly collided into the car in front of me. Then the car proceeded to shut down completely. I arrived at the dealership and was informed there's a possible issue with the transmission. I bought my car brand new in 2013, have had routine maintenance, used top tier fuel, and have not had any major accidents, the car has less than 30k mi.

24 Car Stall problem of the 2014 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 06/17/2014

Bought my car brand new in 2014. Almost immediately started having transmission stalling and slipping issues within two months. My car stalled out and died on the freeway in the middle of rush hour traffic. I went to my Nissan dealership to have it looked at and fixed under warranty. They did not fix it, nor do I think they even looked at it. My car stalls, slips, grinds and vibrates every time I gas it. There have been a handful of other times my car has stalled out and died in the middle of a busy street, while driving. I've had my car for three years and I've been to my dealership many times during warranty and after warranty for this issue and each time the problem has not been resolved. There was even a recall for my transmission, in which I went to the dealership 3 times for it, and it still has not been resolved months after I received the recall notice. I've tried looking this recall up, and I cannot find it. Perhaps the dealership stated that this issue has been resolved when it has not. I do not feel safe in my car, and I feel as if the Nissan dealership I bought my car from is adding to the lack of safety of my vehicle.

26 Car Stall problem of the 2012 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 10/04/2013

I had my car towed to Nissan of chantilly after the engine died the day before after it stopped running in the middle of broadlands blvd, but I managed to get it started just enough get it to a parking lot. They have contacted me only once during the entire time that they have had the car. I contacted them on the 15th of November to be told that the engine had to be replaced, but they have not installed it though they have been authorized by Nissan, because they are having engineers coming to asses the engine to find out why it stopped working, this appears to be a deliberate attempt to keep from repairing and accepting ownership that the engine was defective and keeping me out of the loop. I have contacted Nissan corporate headquarters' and filed a complaint requesting to have a new car as the devaluation of the car and not knowing what has occurred over the last month and a half between the dealership and Nissan. I'm not even sure if the engine will actually be new or refurbished which may impact the longevity of the car and could be very well be a safety hazard if these engines are defective and may be a part of hidden defect issue between the dealership(s) and Nissan.

27 Car Stall problem of the 2012 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

When driving down the highway, my Versa went into neutral but the shift still said d for drive, had no acceleration took to dealer and they passed it off as nothing because nothing read on the computer system and they basically said in a round about way I'm a woman are you sure you didn't bump it into neutral? then a month later had it back as it did the same thing but this time I was going 25 mph. Hooked it up to the computer again and there was nothing reading and reset the computer system. Happened again but was in our parking lot and just blew it off as the dealer would just tell me nothing was wrong. Just yesterday (6/29) as I was turning into the park I work at it slipped back into neutral, then all the electrical went out, no power steering, but the engine was still going, electrical came back on and then the car died as I was going about 20 mph and it quit all together on me shut down. Had to push it to a parking stall and call a tow to the dealer, once at the dealer they hooked it up to the computer and 3 errors for fuel system and 1 error for transmission came up. I'm just thankful that it didn't cause an accident when this has happened. I have it documented that it has been at the dealer now 3 times for this same issue.

32 Car Stall problem of the 2008 Nissan Versa

Failure Date: 07/24/2008

Car completely died out and shut down in the middle of a major intersection at 35 miles per hour. On August 20 / 2008 the car repeated the same failure in traffic at 45 miles per hour. When started the vehicle it wants to choke up and stall, at least 20 times since the purchase of the vehicle on Feb. 18 / 2008. I am terrified to drive the vehicle that I paid cash for now. The dealership of purchase are saying that they cant find the source of the problem and that they are no longer willing to correct these serious failures and issue. They are demanding that I pick up the vehicle and have not returned any of my calls. They have also denied me a loaner vehicle and I have been without my vehicle for almost 2 weeks now. I am seeking legal representation to this matter and have become very discouraged.
