4 Electrical System problem of the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Failure Date: 09/27/2017

I have a 02 olds Intrigue and it has a flickering in intensity issue with the headlights. This is a driving distraction not just for me but anyone in front of me . . . As they may feel brighted or it may distract them and they may vere away from me. I have had people slow down when directly in front of me because they thought I was signaling them with my lights, also god forbid a cop ever see my car doing this here in mo they may think I'm warning others of a cop in the area. I've read up on this and gm says its normal operation but yet many of us owners are having the same issues. They put out different altenators but the only one I've read abt success with cost upwards of $400+ dollars. This is a defective altenator issue that drops out for a few seconds and thats what causes the pulsing of lights. If I wanted to be in a dance hall I would go, my vision is already compromised and this is a serious distraction.

Security light had been coming on and off for a few days. I stopped at a card lock petroleum station for gas I went to start car and nothing, engine didn't even turn over. A local farmer gave me a jump, still nothing. I used his cellphone to call a mechanic friend of mine,he told me it to wait 15 minutes and try again. He said if it still didn't start that I would have to reset it and so I wrote down the instructions said thank you to the gentleman for the use of his phone. I waited still nothing. I performed the procedure turning the ignition on for ten minutes off for 5 seconds and repeat and so on. I live in north dakota this was in January and it was below zero. I put on a pair of insulated overalls and a full length ww ii navy pea coat. I was getting scared, it was now dark and I hadn't seen anyone since the farmer. I was really getting cold, my hands, feet nose and ears were starting to ache a little. I spent another 3. 5 hours trying to start my car. Thank god a couple stopped for gas or I wouldn't have survived . By then I was really worried about my feet I new they were frostbite. I was very lucky I still have all ten toes. When I found out this is a common problem for gm cars and thousands of people have been left stranded and no one has addressed it, I was in was in total disbelief. General motors employees ceo to sales to mr. Goodwrench should be ashamed of their neglect.

Driving anywhere day or night at any given speed, radio goes in and out, turn signal work on and off at random moments, headlights will dim for no reason, interior dash lights dim for no reason. Also will occasionally cause car to stall for no reason. Have been pulled over by law enforcement several times and warned about not using turn signals when I did, but car has never worked properly. I inform them of the complaints I have repeatedly made to gm to resolve and have been repeatedly ignored by gm. I usually am let off with warning.
