Intensive leak of cooling fluid from manifold case full loose power. . . So, with speed 65 mph my car was without brakes and . . . .
Vehicle was leaking fluids from the cooling system, causing water to get into the oil and the water pump. Also, the intake valve discharged water into the crank case. Vehicle had less than 50,000 miles.
While driving temperature gauge registered hot. A loud knocking noise was heard from the front of the vehicle. Consumer contacted the dealer, and mechanic informed the driver that the vehicle had to be driven in for analysis.
2001 olds Intrigue overheats at temperatures less than 30 degrees. Olds did a redesign on this faulty thermostat but no recalls on vehicle. Vehicle could easily heat to the point of engine fire or strand the vehicle in cold climates. New replacement is number 12570248. This is also a problem with aurora vehicles.
The consumer stated the upper and lower gaskets seals on the cooling system failed. The consumer had to add more coolant than normal.
