While driving, vehicle would stall for no apparent reason, at various speeds, the gauges dropped to zero, looked like vehicle was turned off. Taken vehicle to mechanic & he could not locate the problem.

Fuel gauge intermittent non-functional. Increasingly more frequent engine dying episodes, then is able to restart after 5-10 minutes rest period. Mil lamp code reads battery power disconnect to pcm during previous 40 engine cranks. I suspect a faulty relay( switch) component that fails at certain voltages and after equilibration rest period its value returns to normal and restarts (allows current to pass through from battery. Source to pcm and into ignition circuit).

Multiple electrical problems/repairs including 3 alternators/ 12 wire harness/ 3 map sensors/ 1 O2 sensor, and main computer replacement. Still being serviced to correct problem of stalling out/hesitating all described as driveability problem.
Multiple elect. Problems with car: (3) alternators, wire harness(#12), replaced main computer, (3) map sensors, (1) O2 sensor, cruise control inoperable.
Had let vehicle idle a while before moving. Shifted into reverse & started to back out. Engine stalled out. No prior warning. Took to dealer 1st time & had map sensor replaced. 2nd time throttle sensor was replaced. 3rd time control module. 4th time mechanic took engine apart & found wires under the hood had melted together & all the electrical wires needed replacing. This was due to the wires being too close to the exhaust system.

I have had problems with this vehicle ever since I bought it. I took the van to a garage for the problem I'm reporting and they said it was a problem with the vehicle losing grounding and burning out the pcm(?), bcm(?). They also told me that this is not a part that is manufactured for replacement, you have to pull the defective one out and send it in to be repaired. This will take anywhere from 2 to 5 days and the cost is $1,500. Add to this, 2 to 5 days of a rental car in order to be able to commute to and from work. Never will I buy another Plymouth. Ever.
While driving on the highway vehicle would die out/stall without prior warning. Has happened 3 times in 2 weeks. Contacted dealership & was informed engine needed new spark plugs & wires, which were replaced. However, problem still exists. Contacted manufacturer & informed consumer to take vehicle back to dealership.
While driving pressed on accelerator pedal and vehicle hesitated. Noticed white smoke in the rear of vehicle. Checked side mirrors & noticed flames. Stopped & turned vehicle off. Fire department called & put flames out. Vehicle towed to dealership. Mechanic indicated a spark caused fuel pump to ignite & the electrical wires burned. Wiring harness, anti-lock brake sensors, fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel tank were all damaged.
I have received a recall notice for a radiator fan relay, which is not mentioned on your site. Today, I found a new leak of transmission fluid, the red lights are again flashing on and off, there are power surges in the control panels, the engine chokes and shudders. Oh, and the a/c is out again. We won't even mention the windhield wipers which have continually gone on and off since we have owned this car, or the airbag alarms, or the incredible amount of money we have put into this maintained car. My 20,000 car has become a 40,000 lemon. There is simply no excuse for this, mileage or not. I have attempted to keep this car because I wanted a "safe" car for my teenagers to drive. Now, it appears I have them driving the pinto of the 1990's. I thought I was keeping my kids safe!! when the engine failed, I had the car taken to an non dealer becuase I am fed up with their attitudes. . . What do you expect at 100,000 miles, etc. When the first diagnostic was ran on the car, a bewildering array of codes came up. After changing the spark plugs, all of the codes dissapeared. However, the electrical problems increased in intensity, and now I'm afraid my daugher will go up in a fireball. I already assume there will be no response from the manufacturer. . . . I am going to consider a suit as I consider these cars dangerous! fuel leaks, static charge buildups? come on!.
Engine stalled numerous times without warning after slowing from high speed. In each incident, stalling occurred while slowing after driving at highway speeds for extended periods (1 hr or more) during hot weather (80deg of higher). One incident involved stalling on I-95 during rush hour. Traffic slowdown caused speed decrease from approx 60mph to approx 40mph when engine stalled suddenly and without warning. Van was immediately put into neutral in attempt to restart while coasting. Engine started right up but then stalled again immediately. Had to coast across two lanes of heavy traffic to get van off road. Waited several minutes to restart. Engine restarted ok. Kept foot on gas to prevent restalling. After 2-3 minutes, engine ran fine again. Latest incident involved engine stalled just after entering turn at approx 15-20mph. Van had been driven at high speeds (50-70 mph) for approx 2hrs prior to incident. Engine stalled suddenly and without warning, resulting in loss of steering. Lack of steering nearly caused accident. Allowed van to coast off road. Restarted and kept foot on gas pedal to prevent restalling. After several minutes, engine ran ok. Other incidents involved engine stalling while driving into parking lots after driving at highway speeds continuously for several hours. Three dealers have attempted to fix problem by replacing computer, fuel pump, battery, and fuel tank. Also tried using premium unleaded gas,yet stalling still persists. Incidents occurred approx 3-4 times/year. Usually no fault codes indicated by computer when checked by dealer.
Engine shuts down installation of new pcm module did not rectify shut downs.
