Check Engine Light On Problems of Plymouth Neon

While traveling on the highway, the engine check light appeared on the dashboard and it was discovered that the vehicle was leaking gasoline, the manufacturer is aware of the problem. The consumer was told that the leak was from the head being warped and pitted due to the type of head use on the vehicle, the dealer was unable resurface it. The manufacturer denied that this is a common problem, and refused to take responsibiliy.

Engine detonation, driving 55 mph normal highway, perfect road conditions. Engine blew up in a bang, parts fell off, got car to side of the road and the engine was still running (but no power)!! **** (idiot lights) oil or check engine light didn't light up before the incident***** Dodge mechanic (at schmit bros. ) claims "due to lack of oil". . . Dodge should pay us. **** could detonation be caused low grade gas, those fancy engine valves and another faulty solenoid??.

Consumer states several months after purchasing the auto the check engine light has been one. The mechanic told consumer that one of the spark plugs were inoperative, which was then replaced, however 5-6 months later the light came back on. Consumer also states when she make a turn the auto feels as thought it is going to shut off. Also when the air condition is on, the auto vibrates.

When driving noticed the engine check light kept coming on. Then, engine would misfire each time. Took vehicle to dealership for repairs. Problem has not be resolved.

While driving at any speed vehicle was cutting off and stalling, and sometimes consumer couldn't go over 30 mph. When consumer tried to get over 30 mph, vehicle would stall and cut off without prior warning. Also, air conditioner had problems, and engine check light kept coming on. Dealer had to change the engine check light, consumer took vehicle in for repair service about 10 times, and the consumner just got the vehicle out of the shop on Feb 17th. Dealer can't determine the problem.
