2 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 2000 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 11/15/2003

The problem started in may of 2003, originally. I bought the vehicle a 2000 Plymouth Voyager from a dealership in June 2003. It had 52,400 miles on it when I purchased it. I travel a lot mostly highway and put approximately 7800 miles on the vehicle since I bought the van. I noticed a leak on the ground in mid-October. Before this I had noticed on three occasions mostly in the morning that the van would hesitate and no go forward when I stepped on the gas, then it would lunge forward, the same happened a couple of times when I tried to go in reverse. I thought it was because I had not warmed the van up in the a. M. Then I noticed the leak and I took it to the nearest garage. I was told it was a transmission leak. They looked at it and said it had been fixed before and that my engine was soaked with transmission fluid. The clamps that were on the hoses were two big and the transmission pan was not put in correctly. I called the Chrysler dealer ship and they stated they could not give me any documents regarding the repairs that the previous owner had done. However, the service man did say that they had the vehicle in may of 2003 because of leaks from the hoses of the transmission. They put new clamps on and that seemed to fix the problem. The day after I had the clamps done in October the van would not go into gear, then it would lunge forward. I would try to go forward and it would go backwards. I nearly got in to accidents getting it to the dealer. I took it to the Chrysler dealership in bangor and they told me I needed a new transmission. It is actually a rebuilt one. It is costing me $2,525 total. I have looked into this a lot and this appears a common problem with this vehicle.

4 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem of the 1996 Plymouth Voyager

Failure Date: 10/06/2002

1996 Plymouth Voyager ;when ignition key is switch to on. Front windshield wiper will turn on for a brief period and power door lock makes like a grinding noise. Note the engine has not been crank and started yet and all the switches has been off and not touch at all. Eventually a few days after incident some switches to the hvac fan has not been working and the factory stereo eventually malfunction. You cannot tune the am/fm tuner it stays in 1 station. The automatic transmission at times wont shift and other times will shift without problem. The minivan has 48. 500 miles only. I brought it to the dealer at mall chysler and they recomended transmission fluid replacement and replace clock spring, and repair fluel rail-injection. There is no change in the transmission shift,it still occasionally refuses to shift at times noticing the tach needle going at 4,000rpm with speed of only 30-40mph. The symptoms remains with wiper having a mind of its own turning on when inginition is on. Another prolem comes up after I brought van to the dealer. Occasionally interior lights will come on when I'm driving. Also head gasket leaking. I hope Chrysler will help me.
