Contact went to have brakes checked on 8-3-05, just a routine check, and the mechanic noticed that left front caliper bolts were incorrect and have damaged the steering knuckles. He told her the left front wheel was spinning inside the knuckles, within 7 months after purchasing the car had to replace the transmission. Also, the ignition switch was bad.

Gears could be shifted without pressing the brake pedal. The gear selector was bumped while the vehicle was parked and the key was in the ignition's auxiliary mode. As a result the vehicle rolled backward, hit the consumer and rolled over her hip/thigh. The emergency brake was not engaged at the time of the accident.

While driving, the vehicle suddenly stopped. After having it towed, it was discovered the transmission was defective. The consumer stated that the transmission had a broke part.
The transmission has a filter that is housed at the bottom of the transmission. The plastic device that holds the filter breaks, and while driving it falls off, making the transmission defective. The o ring and filter were replaced. It fell into the pan.
I bought this vehicle in 8-03, secondhand from a dealership in NY. In the last 2 weeks, I have had trouble with the transmission losing power and starting to lose fluid. In route to a dr's appt. With my pregnant daughter and her 5 yr. Old the trans. Started to slip and lunge forward. I stopped the vehicle and checked the trans. Was empty of fluid after 20 miles from home. Added 4 qts. Of fluid only to go another 10 miles and the trans. Was doing it again. To the garage only to find out the trans. Casing was blown out and no fluid. Mechanic told me this was a very common problem with this trans. To no avail, no trans. To be found in NY state. To get another trans it is going to cost me $1500-$2000. I will not buy another Chrysler Voyager. I will do better homework next time.
It all began with a "bump" in the transmission when the ac was on. Soon after that startedtransmission would lock into "limp home" mode betwen 30 and 35 mph. It kicked into limp home mode on the highway, while I was driving 65 and put my family in jeapordy. I parked in in the driveway and left it there for 2 months. When I decided to try it again to get it to a mechanic, it wouldn't even go in reverse. Brought it to a Chrysler dealership in the area to be repaired at the tune of $2,000 for an overhaul. Metal all throughout the tranny. The dealership we bought it from denies any TSB's on the vehicle and has been quite nasty to us, so we brought it to another Chrysler dealer. How do we go about getting this paid for by daimler Chrysler?.

My van started emitting a whisling sound after the warranty of 30,000 miles ran out at 40,000 miles and eventually the transmission doesn't want to shift. I took it to the dealer and the owner said that he will eat the cost but I found out that they had sold my wife an extended warranty. Now at 103,000, its doing the same thing of not shifting. The dealer said that we need to pay for the replacement.
While driving 65 mph transmission exploded. As a result, wheels locked without warning. No impact reported.
While driving the transmission blew out. The consumer managed to pull over and had the vehicle towed. The dealerships mechanic was notified but did not resolve the problem.
While the vehicle was on driver's 2 year old daughter shifted the gear into reverse without applying the brakes and vehicle moved and hit the driver. Driver sustained bone bruises all over the body, and was transported to the hospital.
Transmission disintegrated, wiper motor problems, and lost of horn and cruise control.
After the signal light turned green driver stepped on accelerator pedal, the engine revved, but the vehicle would not move. Vehicle towed to a repair shop for transmission problem.
Vehicle was taken to the dealer for service. Consumer feels that the service was incomplete because, after a week, vehicle started jerking whenever accelerator was pressed. Vehicle was taken to another shop, and consumer was told that transmission fluid was exceptionally low. Less than a week after that diagnosis transmission completely stopped working. The dealer would not make repairs without consumer paying for them.
I own a 1996 Plymouth Voyager and on this min van the wipers act very erratic. They work when they want. Sometimes they won't shut off and other times they will not come on at all or stop right in the middle of your view. I also have an issue with the serpentine belts popping off the drive line leaving you with no power steering or power brakes and completely disables the vehicle. I also experience issues with the rear shocks. The bolts come loose and detaches the rear shick from the van leaving it quite uncontrollable while driving. All 3 issues happens on many occasions. All 4 of these defects make this van very dangerous to drive or travel with. Currently my van is sitting in my drive with a bad transmission. I have owned the van for 5 years now and in 5 years I have blown 3 transmissions.
98 Plymouth Voyager expresso has a problem with a pin in the transmission braking and it cracks your case in trying to find a used one, everyone that had one, that was what had happened to it.
My transmission had a huge bang and completely shut down. The mechanic said that the pin blew from the inside out. This is a common occurence with these minivans, but chrystler is not helpful at all. I believe that this is a factory defect.
Problems with head gasket. Please provide further information. Ph.
I am one of the many many customers that are experiencing complete failures with the Chrysler 41te ultradrive transmissions. In my case I hade a complete transmition replacement at 79,000 miles. At 123,000 miles while pulling into traffic the vehicle stopped moving and the engine started revving very high. I hade the vehicle towed to the dealer that had installed the first transmission. I was informed that the transmission was over its 36,000 warranty and needed to be replaced. I have declined the $2900 estimate and I am currently getting a second opinion on the repair. My concern is that while I was researching the problems of this transmission, I found that most owners of the 41te transmission will experience similar problems at an average of 80,000 miles. I further learned that Chrysler knows that these transmissions will fail, as they have been replacing them sense the 1980¿s when it was named the a604. We need to get these vehicles off the road until the problems can be resolved. In my case, I just experienced the inconvenience of finding myself stranded. If my timing had been different, my situation would have been a lot worse.
I have a 2000 Plymouth Voyager. I purchased it brand new in 12/00. I expereince a problem when shifting from park to reverse to drive. From a parked position, I put the vehicle in reverse and proceed to back up. Once I have completed backing out, I put the vehicle in drive to (attempt) go forward. The vehicle is in drive, however the vehicle continues to go in reverse (several feet). I have tried shifting to overdrive, neutral, and park however the vehicle still continues to move in reverse. I have had the vehicle to the dealership 5 times and the problem still hasn't been resolved. This is a severe hazard as I have almost had several accidents, assuming the my vehicle should be moving forward when in drive. The service manager does not want to admit there is a problem, he blames it on me not putting my brake all the way down. I advised him that despite the position on my brake if the vehicle is in drive it should move forward or if it is in park it should not move at all. The vehicle eventually moves forward, but not until it is ready. My transmission fluid is clean and full. My mileage now is approx 25471. The vehicle is used for personal use only.
While driving the engine would lose power and consumer is unable to accelerate. Dealer has been notified. Ph.
I have a Plymouth Voyager with 47,000 mi. I'd only had it for 4 mos. When the transmission started to act up. I have been told that it is probably on it's way out seeing as Chrysler knows not how to make a working product. It is very dangerous for me to try to pull out onto a road when I am not sure whether or not I am going to be able to go. When I do and it doesn't move, I then have to hurry up and gun it so as not to get hit from oncoming traffic. The car then jerks into gear after reving up to around 50 if I take it that far. I usually don't because then engine sounds like it is screaming. Shifting is a problem. It is well known to most Chrysler owners that there is a serious problem with their transmissions, yet Chrysler does nothing to upgrade or fix the defects. Had I known this information before I had bought the car, I would've bought a different make vehicle.
Consumer is original owner of vehicle and has had 2 transmissions fail without warning while driving. Dealer has not been able to determine cause of failures. First failure occured at 55k miles, second at 119k miles. Ts.
Consumer states of having problems with the transmission and it was replaced at the consumer expense, the consumer feels a major component like the transmission should last longer than 80000 miles and that the manufacturer should have offered some assistance with the cost of the repairs. Mr.
Reporting failure of original and replacement transmission from Chrysler corporation. Second failure happened on highway and jeopardized driver and occupants. Failure happened within days of replaced transmission purchased from Chrysler.
Seals in transmission needed to be replaced due to vehicle slipping in and out of gear . This will happen intermittently. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything.
While driving at 40mph vehicle hesitated to accelerate and starting chocking. Took vehicle to dealership who informed him transmission was shot.
Am about to have vehicle taken to dealership, but have researched several similar incident where Chrysler tried to deny responsibility for a transmission that goes out after only 58,000 so I'm creating cases, just in case.
The minivan lurched backward 1-2 ft after it was placed in reverse. If someone had been in back of the van they many have been seriously hurt. The mechanic said it looked like the transmission literally exploded inside.
No summary listed for above vehicle.
Vehicle can be put in drive/ reverse or neutral without pressing on brakes. Driver feels its unsafe because if driver bumps shift lever it may go into any gear. Please provide any further information.
I also have a transmission problem. First it would take a long time for it to shift out of 1st to 2nd. Then it would take a long time for reverse to kick in. Now its not working period.
Transmission has been replaced twice, but problem still persists.
