1 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 2010 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 08/01/2010

First failure was my clutch due to the pressure plate being installed incorrectly from the factory and was warranted. Second failure was an air fuel sensor which also was covered under warranty. Third failure was my 4th cylinder cracked piston. The dealership which has been the same that I have gone to for all my service and warranty refused to warranty the pistons because of an aftermarket exhaust which was installed for the first two warranty failures mentioned above. I was forced to pay out of pocket to have the repairs done!.

2 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 2004 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 12/20/2007

I was driving down a main road in boston when my engine caught on fire. As a result I ended up crashing into a snow bank. When I reported this to the dealership they said that they would look at the problem and fix it. When the car was inspected it was found to have aftermarket parts that are not d. O. T. Legal and no c. A. R. B. Id's. All of these modifications were installed prior of me buying this vehicle and it was sold to me with a warrenty. I had complained about a smell of gas and a huge loss of oil before this happened but was told that is how a Subaru Impreza wrx sti runs. Also the dealership got a emmisions sticker for this car when it will not pass emissions with all of the afterarket parts. Nothing has been done to fix this problem and the dealership refuses to take any responsibility for this event.

3 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 2004 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 03/19/2004

The "check engine" light has come on 7 times since the vehicle was purchased new in January 2004. The first two times I was told by the dealership (valley Dodge, inc. ) that it was a false code (#p0301) for a 1st cylinder miss fire. On the third time the "check engine" light came on, the dealership removed the ecm and sent to the Subaru of America, inc. Factory to reprogram. The fourth time the dealership, per Subaru of America, inc. Factory, adjusted the #1 cylinder exhaust valve. The fifth and sixth time, the dealership per Subaru of America, inc. Replaced the injection and still have the car to beta test on a 100-mile 'test drive' as I was told to compare the read-outs from the ecm during this 'test-drive. ' I have been without the vehicle for 20 days non-consecutive in the 6 months that I have owned the vehicle.

4 Engine Exhaust System problem of the 1999 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 02/08/2004

The failure occurred when Subaru decided to no longer service my vehicle under warranty. Leading up to when I had to sell the vehicle on 8/23/2001 I had the right rear wheel bearing replaced at 43,460 miles. The left head gasket changed on 12/28/2001 at 48,817 miles. The airflow meter sensor was recalled on 7/22/2002 with 55,797 miles. The clutch would stick to the floor so I had to have the clutch master cylinder gravity bled on 7/22/2002 as well. The right rear wheel bearing went out again on 8/9/2002 with 57,454. All the above thing were replace and performed under warranty. I personally had to pay to replace the right valve cover gasket, alternator belt, O2 sensor, knock sensor, fuel pump, and exhaust y pipe. I sold the car because the head gasket started to go out again, the clutch need replaced, and the transmission gear oil, and motor oil were both leaking. I expressed my concern to Subaru (locally and nationally) and they were unwilling to help with the repair of the head gasket since I did not have the scheduled coolant service performed at Subaru. Well I had within a couple miles. Subaru changed the first head gasket at 48,817 miles and it when out again at 82,796 miles a difference of around 33,000 and the service is scheduled for every 30,000 miles.
