1 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2005 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 11/03/2014

Everytime I start the car in even the mildest to coldest temperatures, the car has an extreme gas smell in the cabin of the car. I have taken it to the shop and they claim they don't even smell it and cannot service it. There is a recall for model 02 and 03 of this car but does not cover my year. It's gotten to the point where the car is not drive-able during cold weather. The recalls also do not cover the state of maryland, which is ridiculous because we've been getting cold snaps putting us below 0. Considering the problem is detectable even in 40 degree weather, this does not seem reasonable.

2 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2006 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 11/06/2007

The contact owns a 2006 Subaru Impreza. While driving at any speed, coasting, and shifting gears, the vehicle loses all wheel drive power. The failure causes the vehicle to shift into neutral. The failure was more apparent at high altitudes and on icy roads. While driving downhill, the vehicle jerks before it shifts into neutral. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure. However, they reprogrammed the ecm. A local mechanic stated that the vehicle's torque converter and transmission were working improperly and the engine was six degrees too high. The contact filed a formal complaint with the manufacturer. The current mileage was 22,000 and failure mileage was 1,000. Updated 01-30-08. The consumer stated driver's seat would lock into place, windows screeched, and passenger's front door hinges came loose. The consumer stated took the vehicle to 2 independent mechanics who stated the torque converter or transmission was not functioning correctly. Updated 01/30/08.

4 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2002 Subaru Impreza

Failure Date: 02/01/2007

Fuel lines above the engine on both sides leak fuel while the engine is running. The leak occurs when the gas pedal is depressed if the temp is lower than 32 degrees. At the point where the rubber fuel line meets the metal fuel lines you can see gas spray across the engine block and will pool up. Tightening the clamps does not help. This has happened every winter since 2007.

5 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem of the 2002 Subaru Impreza

1. Events: chronic gasoline smell/fumes in 2002 Subaru wrx in cold weather conditions (under 34 degrees). 2.
