I was involved in a multi-impact collision while driving my 2021 Toyota Camry. Certified crash data from the airbag control module (acm) confirms five crash events including a frontal collision (delta-v of -9. 3 mph) and a rollover (roll angle 9. 8°, roll rate 45. 6°/sec). Despite these conditions, no airbags deployed—not the frontal, knee, or curtain airbags. The driver was belted, there was no airbag warning light, and power was maintained. Toyota later stated the system worked “as designed” and found no defects. However, federal safety standards (fmvss no. 208 and 226) suggest this type of crash should have triggered the airbags, especially due to the frontal delta-v and verified rollover. I request a formal investigation. Crash report available upon request.
Srs airbag lights up. Possible short.

The srs warning light came on. I took it to my mechanic and he tested the sensor. He said the code that showed is b1821. . . Open in side squib (d seat side) circuit. He said I needed to take it to a Toyota dealer. I have an appointment with one on 4/17/25.

I was hit from the rear while my vehicle was at a stop. The vehicle was going estimated 50mph and moved my vehicle about 12 feet colliding with the vehicle in from of me. I would think the impact of the front collision should have been enough to have the airbags deploy. The Camry was totaled.

A safety recall for the occupant classification system (OCS) was issued by NHTSA in Dec 2023. I have contacted my Toyota dealer on 6/7/24 and again on 10/28/24 and they said that "a remedy is still not available" and "Toyota has not found a fix yet". It is now Feb 2025, more than a year after the recall for this matter, and Toyota has still not provided a fix.
On [xxx], I was involved in a high-speed t-bone collision with a fedex truck while driving my 2019 Toyota Camry se (VIN: [xxx] ). Despite the severity of the crash — which totaled my vehicle, caused the windshield to crack, and resulted in my head slamming into the steering wheel — none of the vehicle’s airbags deployed, including the driver’s front airbag. As a direct result of this failure, I sustained head trauma and neurological symptoms. A CT scan taken immediately after the crash revealed a previously undiagnosed 11–12mm partially thrombosed brain aneurysm, which is now causing ongoing vision problems, speech issues, memory loss, and loss of balance. Upon researching known defects, I discovered that my vehicle had a recall for an improperly calibrated occupant classification system (OCS) that may prevent airbag deployment — recall #k0m, issued in 2019. I never received any notification of this defect from Toyota. The fact that no airbags deployed in a crash this severe clearly points to a critical safety system failure. I believe this failure greatly worsened my injuries and created long-term health risks that would not exist had the safety systems worked as designed. I am requesting a full investigation and am pursuing a claim for product liability and manufacturer negligence. This complaint is part of a formal record to hold Toyota accountable and protect other drivers from similar harm. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

According to the car’s manual and Toyota’s official website, the fuel tank capacity should be 13 gallons. However, my car does not have this capacity. Additionally, it consumes enough fuel for 36 miles when driving only 22 miles.
I bought a vehicle with a salvage title and I want to dm. V to register I'm there request to me to do California highway petrol salvage inspection. California highway patrol told me to fix the recall first to get salvage inspection or get a letter from Toyota stating that parts are not available and they will take full responsibility in the event that a malfunction occurs. I want to Toyota dealership to get my recall fixed. And they said they cannot fix it yet. Because its says "remedy not available" on the recall. I called Toyota brand engagement center to ask for a letter, and they said that they can't give me a letter. So now I can't get my car registered. Thank you.
Toyota’s occupant classification sensor (OCS) recall, which prevents airbags from deploying in a crash, was announced in November 2023. Despite multiple calls over the past year, Toyota has failed to resolve the issue, repeatedly giving me the runaround—both over the phone and in person at the dealership. This is completely unacceptable. My previous Camry had an airbag recall, which was fixed just before a serious accident caused by an unlicensed driver. Thankfully, the airbags deployed, likely preventing severe injury or worse. Now, I face the same dangerous issue again with this recall, and I refuse to put myself or my son at risk by driving a vehicle with defective airbags. After finally escalating the issue to Toyota corporate, they offered me a loaner vehicle. However, after spending an entire day coordinating and traveling to pick it up, the dealership treated me terribly, refusing to provide a comparable vehicle with basic features like apple carplay for gps. The staff was rude and unprofessional, making me extremely uncomfortable leaving my car there for an estimated four months—the earliest they claim they can fix it. This is my primary vehicle—our only car for long trips and daily use. I have an older car for short errands, but this is not a viable alternative. To make matters worse, when I reported the terrible experience back to Toyota corporate, they had no solutions, and will not offer rental car reimbursement. This is negligence, plain and simple. This is the second time in the past 10-15 years Toyota has faced a major airbag recall, with at least 28 fatalities and a $70+ million settlement tied to past failures. How is Toyota being allowed to do this again? they must be held accountable.

Undone: been fraudulently mislead and charged by Toyota dealership: rudy luther and collision center for srs airbag and intentionally violated safety regulations and adherence towards critical procedures and protocols for handling consumer safely and effectively communicate. We have reasonably concluded this was not an accident and effective decision for all involved parties; however I would like to handle this matter in a correct manner as I am concerned as a conscience consumer who would like to be treated with respect and courtesy both ways.

The air bag system has a fault and it makes it so the passenger air bag light is always reading as off, as if there isn’t a passenger there. It also has the passenger seatbelt light flashing all the time.

This recall still has no solution from Toyota and I would like to submit a complaint that it has been a year and still no recourse.
The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the driver’s side air bag warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the warning light illuminated intermittently but had since remained illuminated consistently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who confirmed that there was no recall on the VIN for the failure. The dealer determined that the driver’s side air bag system had a short circuit, causing the failure. The contact was informed that the air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer confirmed there was no recall on the VIN. The failure mileage was 130,000.
