While driving the vehicle in high winds, wind and air can be heard entering the cabin near the front of the drivers side door. Multiple heavy gusts of wind caused the car to move into the other lane and had a negative effect on steering the vehicle. Toyota denies there is something wrong with the door seals or design of the vehicle, but this is a safety hazard when driving in high sustained winds of 15mph or more.
The airbag recall on select Toyota Camry. The manufacturer of the airbags in japan are said to be defective. I have not received new sensors that are on back order. Seatbelt sensors continue to go off, unless they are clicked in all seats. I already had the car fixed twice, they won’t lean to fix the car again. It’s all political financially. The onboard safety sos may also be defective in these models.

Loud squeak/squealing sound from inside area of the left front driver side wheel after driving for an extended amount of time (after 4 hours of driving on first observation). The squeaking is intermittent and not always able to reproduce the sound.
1. The driver side door has a rattling sound when driving. It sounds like the door is not shutting all the way. Air/noise comes through. The noise is annoying when driving and I am concern that the door will open. This does not make me feel safe. 2. Windshield is fragile. Within a month of purchasing my Camry, my windshield cracked (passenger side). A couple months later I see another crack on the drivers side. I am afraid that it will shatter soon enough and cause me not to be able to drive safely on the road. 3. Paint is already chipping on the hood of my 2025 Camry.
Defect description: the front bumper cover clips located directly under the headlights on my 2025 Toyota Camry xse are loosening and detaching. This creates a visible gap between the bumper and the body panels. The condition appeared during normal use and has persisted. No collision damage or aftermarket modifications are involved. Safety risk: if the clips continue to loosen, the bumper cover could detach further while driving. At highway speeds, this creates a risk of the bumper separating from the vehicle, potentially becoming road debris and causing a hazard to me and other motorists. Manufacturer response: my Toyota dealership has confirmed this is a known issue, but reported that Toyota currently has no available repair procedure or timeline for a fix. Toyota corporate has also documented my vehicle as affected but cannot provide a remedy. Reproducibility: the defect is visible at all times and worsens gradually with normal driving vibration.
Factory paint is peeling off. It is a known issue and Toyota won't do anything for me.

I am reporting a recurring issue with the front bumper misalignment on my 2025 Toyota Camry, which may indicate a widespread manufacturing defect. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle from Toyota direct March 2025, I noticed that the front bumper was visibly misaligned, with uneven gaps near the headlights and fender panels. On June 9, 2025, the dealership replaced the front bumper with an oem part. However, the new bumper still does not fit properly and continues to protrude and separate at the corners creating the potential for the bumper to become loose during operation. This affects both the appearance, aerodynamic integrity of the vehicle and an potential for accident. Multiple attempts at repair have failed to resolve the issue. After researching, I found numerous reports from other 2025 Camry owners experiencing the same bumper misalignment. Some dealership representatives have acknowledged the bumper fitment as a “known issue,” yet no official recall or technical service bulletin has been issued. Given the widespread nature of this defect and Toyota’s lack of a permanent solution, I believe this issue warrants further investigation by the NHTSA to determine whether a manufacturing or design flaw exists that could affect vehicle safety, durability, or value.
I attempted to open my car door and the door handle simply snapped off in my hand. This is the second time this has occurred. The first time, my driver's door handle snapped off when a technician at my goodyear repair shop tried to open it. Now, the exact same thing happened to my passenger driver's side door when I went to open it. Upon closer inspection, it seems that the manufacturing is defective, as the handle seems to have been simply glued on in spots rather than more securely attached. Bear in mind that this car is barely driven more than twice a week; it barely has any wear and tear and is under 80,000 miles despite 12 years of use.
I started noticing a glare on my 2011 Toyota Camry on the inside on the dashboard. It appeared shiny and I figured I accidentally cleaned it with the wrong product. It started at the closet point of the windshield so I didn’t worry about it. Today (6/4/25) I went to clean it again and noticed the whole dashboard was extremely sticky and nothing would clean it off. Paper towels and microfiber towels stuck to it. I noticed the dash was coming apart when I tried to clean it. I called Toyota customer service and they informed me they sent a letter in 2018 about the class action lawsuit and that they were replacing the dashboard. I do not remember ever getting this letter. They woman tried to ask someone higher up about trying to help me since the cut off date was 2021. They said there was nothing they could do due to it not being done in 2021. This is a safety issue due to the glare when driving. I believe this needs to be a recall and that customers should be able to have Toyota fix it. It’s continue to melt and it’s going to end up ruining the whole car. Please take cere of this, please check it as a recall. I would assume this would mess with the airbags as well. I cannot afford to have the whole dashboard replaced, when it should be a recall due to Toyota being at fault. It’s their responsibility to test these things and they failed big time with this. A dashboard should not melt.

Front bumper fitment issue: the front bumper clips fail to secure the bumper properly, causing a noticeable gap between the bumper and the body, particularly around the headlight and fender. Despite visiting my local dealer today (10-11-2025), they have confirmed that this is a known issue, but no permanent solution has been provided. The bumper misalignment negatively impacts the aesthetic quality and structural integrity of the vehicle. This problem has been reported by multiple 2025 Camry owners and persists even after the bumper is replaced. It is evident upon delivery and has not been fixed by Toyota or the dealership to date. Rear seatbelt warning malfunction: I experienced a malfunction with the rear seatbelt warning system. The warning alert activated while the vehicle is in motion, falsely indicating that an unbuckled passenger is in the backseat, even when the rear seats are empty. At my dealership visit in August, I was told that this was a normal characteristic of the vehicle, triggered when rear doors are opened or closed without the seatbelt being clicked in. However, this explanation does not account for the behavior I am experiencing, where the warning is erroneously triggered while the vehicle is moving. This malfunction undermines the reliability of Toyota's safety systems, and I request that Toyota investigate it thoroughly. I would also appreciate guidance on how to disable or adjust the rear seatbelt reminder in the meantime, if that is a viable solution.
I am reporting a recurring safety defect involving the front bumper assembly on my brand-new Toyota Camry hybrid. The front bumper repeatedly detaches, separates, and pulls away from the vehicle during normal driving conditions. This has occurred multiple times despite repeated repair attempts by the authorized Toyota dealership. Toyota and the dealership have acknowledged that this is a known issue affecting other vehicles and have admitted that there is currently no permanent repair remedy available. Despite this, the defect has been misclassified as “cosmetic,” which is inaccurate and unsafe. The bumper is a critical safety component designed to absorb and distribute crash forces. A bumper that is already detached or partially unsecured compromises crash force pathways and reduces occupant protection in the event of a collision. If an accident occurs, the bumper cannot perform its intended safety function, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, I can hear air intrusion entering the vehicle through the front area where the bumper is separating, confirming that the vehicle’s exterior seal and structural integrity are compromised while driving. This vehicle has never been in an accident and is operated under normal conditions. A front bumper should not detach on a new vehicle. This is not a cosmetic concern it is a safety defect that places occupants at risk. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue as a potential pattern defect and require Toyota to address it as a safety matter rather than mislabeling it to avoid corrective action.
The front bumper on my 2025 Toyota Camry continues to shift and separate after driving, despite being repaired twice following a low-impact collision in which another vehicle backed into me. This issue has persisted even after two separate body shops (including a state farm in-network provider) performed repairs. A third attempt is underway, but the problem remains unresolved. Additionally, my parking collision warning system does not give any audible alerts when reversing or approaching objects, even though this feature is standard on my vehicle. I believe the malfunction may be tied to the bumper’s instability or misalignment, potentially affecting sensor function. The issue has not triggered any warning lights or error messages. However, I’ve now discovered multiple reports from other 2025 Camry owners experiencing the same bumper separation without being in accidents, suggesting a potential design flaw. My car has been inspected by body shops and appraisers, but not by Toyota directly. This ongoing issue presents a potential safety concern due to impaired sensor function and the risk of the bumper detaching at higher speeds. The vehicle and parts are available for inspection upon request.
The panoramic sunroof on my 2020 Toyota Camry xse failed to close on two separate occasions. The most recent incident occurred about three months ago. After opening the sunroof, the glass panel would not close, leaving the vehicle fully exposed during heavy rain. I had to cover the opening with plastic and tape while standing in the rain, which caused water to enter the vehicle and led to illness from exposure. This failure poses safety risks, including: driver distraction if the failure occurs while driving. Possible water damage to electrical components, potentially affecting vehicle operation. Reduced visibility in heavy rain. Security risks if the vehicle cannot be secured. Online research and discussions with other owners revealed that this problem appears to be relatively common with Toyota Camry models equipped with a panoramic roof. My initial repair estimate was approximately $12,000, which is unreasonable given the vehicle’s value. I ultimately had the sunroof permanently sealed shut at my own expense. I have video evidence and documentation from both incidents, including an earlier occurrence on August 29, 2020, which was reported to a Toyota dealer but dismissed at the time. I believe this should be investigated as a potential recall.
The radio buttons as well as buttons on steering wheel are unresponsive. In addition the front bumper corner piece near the wheel keeps popping off of the car.

Wife was driving back home on I-280 around 60-65 mph back home when suddenly the back sunroof glass section pop and she started hearing small objects dragging. As soon as she was available to pull over to check it, she realize the whole back glass of the sunroof was cracked. She tried calling Toyota sunnyvale to report it and best they could help her with was to make a claim with the insurance and pay the deductible of $500 because they saying this was from an “external influence”. They gave us a “rental vehicle” while their inspectors engineers called for non-manufactured issue when; - how will you get hit on the sunroof while driving at 60-65 mph on the freeway? - how is it possible that a small size object could shatter a whole tempered glass and also, outline crack all around instead of a center hit like they mentioned. - if there was an external object hitting the sunroof why isn’t any internal damage if it’s right above the sunroof motor. If it was something that big to shatter a whole tempered glass section wouldn’t it damage the motor as is right on the center of the shatter too?. Last but not least, we were “handle” a rental car while they were “inspecting” the vehicle until next coming Monday (2 days later as we took it on a Saturday) we were told to take the vehicle and bring it in the next coming Monday but with that level of shatter it would of fall apart more and would of been an issue for the inspection for them to put it on me as a bigger hit whitch they did! and made me pay for the rental days and quote me a $4,700. Oo repair labor for the damage part as they determinate it wasn’t manufacture. No one could give an explanation of how did they determinate it when I have an other Toyota that does! have an external object crack on the wind shield and its minimal! not the whole windshield.
I purchased a used 2008 Camry but I didn’t know about the sticky dashboard defect. It’s a hazard to drive this car because of the extreme sun glare, which impedes my vision.

My Camry has received two professional transmission services as per the manufacturer recommendation, within suggested timeframes as it is now 176k. The transmission ( surely this is not something new to hear) has failed. No prior sign or code. This vehicle died while driving on the highway! it stopped automatically shifting and would not accelerate. There have been other owners of this same car, year ect. That have lost transmission while driving!!!! want to get to the bottom? how many 18camrys make it to 300k or even 200k without a new transmission. Most die 65k !! lemon come on. Toyota mechanics, youtube, Toyota nation, dealerships, it is a well known fact that the 18 Camrys being that they cheaper out on so many parts, and added this new transmission, they’re known for failure! young. This company is screwing peopel. With jobs, kids, and now you’ve got to fork out minimum 6k and wait for 3-6 months to have car back??? how many people have been homeless due to this? ?? I had a job and a home, boss wouldn’t let me work from home! I’ve rode a bicycle to work, in florida to the next town over. Even with a loan, I’m out a car for months, so how many loans offer a no pay for 6 months? I’m hungry. Most people trans died in the 65k this is a rip off. The car can give back its safety award. The brakes gave out on me. The oil pan the brakes the trans the fuel pump. And the notorious front bumpers. They come un snapped in every newer body style carolla and Camry. Wing out beside fenders. And collision syste I’ve had people beside me in the same model car take a pic of my quick release snaps that I used to safely secure the bumper. This car is a lemon! mine is a unicorn with trans failure despite the maintained by a local aamco owner (transmission specialist) trans dying at 178k “wow that is impressive!” are you guys going to do anything? or has Toyota paid you off? no one gives a heck about consumers. We’re the modern day native americans .

I was stopped at a car wash, pressing on the brake pedal when all of a sudden it felt like someone rear-ended me. My car accelerated without me stepping on the gas pedal and I turned the wheel quickly to avoid hitting the car in front of me head on. I clipped his right back bumper, flew over a large shrub and landed smashing into a parked vehicle. The total front end of my vehicle was damaged and no air bag deployed.

The front bumper of the vehicle is falling off, it seems to be too heavy for the vehicle. I went to the dealership and was informed this is a common reported issue with the 2025 Toyota Camry but as there is no open recall the warranty is unable to provide any assistance. This is a safety hazard and the bumper could fall off during anytime and cause a serious hazard and or accident can occur. I informed the dealership that due to the falling bumper the bottom has scrapped and caused damage and they continued stating there was nothing they could do. Lm left with an issue that is dangerous for me and my family.
When in motion, the backseat windows can be lowered and the entire car is subject to the loudest woofwoofwoof combined with shaking, and excessive vibrating.

Seatbelt indicator lights and warning sounds malfunction - indicating passengers are in need of buckle even if they are buckled. Intermittent functionality. Vision at night is incredibly reduced. Headlights of other drivers are hazy and auralike - and I often have to put windows down in order to see (which leads to the shaking and vibrating of vehicle in prior complaint|).
The dashboard melted and everything sticks to it. Also the visor to block sun unhinged on driver side and passenger side won’t go back up it just stays hanging down.
I am an uber driver and most passengers normally sitting in the rear (passenger/right side), have issues opening the door while exiting the vehicle. They generally pull the lever expecting the the door to open, but I always have to tell them to pull the lever while simultaneously pushing the door outwards (which is abnormal). This problem has been ongoing since I purchased this vehicle new in December of 2023. I reported this issue to my local Toyota dealership.
Drivers rear bumper just "fell off" bolts/ felt not staying in place. Resulted in bumper drag on ground and could have been a possible injury to fellow drivers. No warnings or messages appeard. A car beside me at the light pointed to me that the bumper just fell off. Luckily there was a Ford dealer around the corner who zip tied the bumper on for me until I got home. The gentleman said in his 25 years in body work he has never seen this happen. He stated multiple bolts were missing under neath and didnt appear to be holding the bumper/felt on. Reported to my sales lady and showed pictures. She was to have dealership contact me but no one did. Paid $997 to have it replaced but the felt doesnt appear to still stay bolted to the rear bumper. The vehichle was inspected prior to purchase but no one ever returned my concern from the dealership.

The dealership and manufacturer will not provide mco on the vehicle they sold me as new. I think they’re title cloning or washing and committing odometer fraud. They don’t submit to the dmv actual details of make model.
There is a vibration sound that occurs when the brake is pressed or depressed. When driving the sound is not present. I brought it to the smithtown Toyota dealership and they couldn’t find anything and said they heard nothing in the video I sent. After countless hours troubleshooting I traced the sound to the driver well area by the brake and gas pedal. The sound and vibration seems to be transferring from the engine area.
Subject: concern regarding Toyota Camry 2011 lxe dashboard issue - VIN: 4t1bf3ek9bu227570 dear NHTSA, I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns regarding a significant safety issue with the dashboard of my Toyota Camry 2011 lxe, VIN: 4t1bf3ek9bu227570. We purchased this vehicle brand new and have maintained it diligently over the years. However, we have never received any recall notices concerning this issue, despite the dealer's claim that they were sent. The problem we are experiencing with our vehicle's dashboard is a sticky and peeling surface. Over time, the dashboard's material has deteriorated, becoming sticky and disintegrating. This poses a hazardous situation while driving, affecting both the aesthetics of the vehicle and safety due to impaired visibility and potential distraction. While I understand that Toyota has recognized this problem in other Toyota Camry vehicles and initiated a recall, our vehicle's VIN has been excluded from the recall list. We strongly believe that this issue is systemic and not confined to a specific range of vins, and thus, our car should also be included in the recall. We kindly request the NHTSA's assistance in ensuring that our concerns are addressed promptly. We urge you to investigate the matter further and encourage Toyota to extend the recall to include our vehicle and others facing a similar issue. It is crucial to uphold safety and quality standards for automobiles in the united states, prioritizing the well-being of drivers and passengers. Furthermore, we would appreciate your guidance on the process to formally address this issue with Toyota. Our previous attempts to resolve the matter directly with the manufacturer have been unsuccessful, as they denied our request to include our vehicle in the recall. If you could provide information on the necessary steps to escalate our case or mediate with the manufacturer, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention on this.
My 2010 Camry has become incredibly unsafe to drive or be in due to the dashboard melting. There is an unbelievably unsafe glare caused by the dashboard reflecting sunlight and the more the dash melts the more intense the glare becomes. There is also a smell that renders the vehicle almost worthless on hot days and causes headaches. This is on top of not being able to clean the dashboard because you cannot touch it with anything. All bugs and any dust that land on the dashboard live there permanently. You cannot wipe it with anything. Your finger prints stay on the dash with the lightest touch and often it becomes so hot you cannot touch it without potentially burning yourself. The dash melting is a safety hazard to everyone on the roadways. There are likely millions of cars with this defective dashboard that have not been repaired. I have contacted Toyota several times, including executives and high ranking corporate employees, and they say that they will not replace or help with this defective and unsafe cheap component that they used in order to increase their margins. The problem has been acknowledged by Toyota but they failed to contact an incredibly high number of owners that are affected. I first noticed the glare in 2014 and it has gotten progressively worse. I took the vehicle to a Toyota dealership twice (2016/2023) and they refused to fix the defective dash both times. They expect owners to pay $3,500-$5,000 for a dashboard repair on a vehicle that has 100k+ mile life left yet is only worth around $5,000. They are essentially totaling cars that owners have worked hard to maintain and get the most out of. Toyota is stealing 10+ years of vehicle life from many consumers and placing the burden of their profit margins increasing onto consumers that buy Toyotas because of their longevity and reliability.
