The original exterior paint is peeling off on my vehicle. Small rusty spots can be seen on the body of my vehicle.
This car has required 6 sets of tires in less than 90,0000 miles. The driver's side window will roll down when pressing the button to roll it up. This has been going on since the first oil change. The air conditioner occasionally switches itself from recycled to fresh air while driving for unknown reasons. Sensor in passenger seat malfunctions causing random alarm about seatbelt when no one is seated there. The dashboard became sticky to the touch, and cloth would stick to it when attempting to wipe it clean. The dashboard then developed several deep cracks, running erratically ly from front to back. In places around trim pieces, dashboard plastic has flaked away. Plastic on the top of the console's lid has chipped and flaked away, and cracks have developed around it. Paint on trim of console has bubbled up and ruined the finish in console drink holder lid. The cd player malfunctioned, with a disc read error reported, though no disc was inside the player, requiring replacement of system. The aux audio port failed after only a year of regular use. The floor mats had to be removed due to the acceleration recall and the service department at dealership wanted to provide recall service limited to securing these with a zip tie. Carpeting became stained and filthy, and could not be effectively cleaned, so carpeting had to be replaced by owner. Recall notices received from Toyota by the owner have been expressly limited to weight capacity rating sticker, although this was Toyota financed vehicle and owner's address remains unchanged. Otherwise, all recall notices received by registered owner, have been limited to those reported by NHTSA following owner's registration at website. Local dealership has routinely been uncooperative, dismissive, or contentious when warranty service requests were made. Dealership offers only reasons to deny warranty repairs or replacements.

My 2011 Camry is super white and the clear coat has completely come off. I noticed all the shine was gone so I took it in for an estimate on a wax job and he informed me the clear coat is completely gone. I started to notice it about 2 years ago. When I wash my car, the white paint comes off. I also have a few rust spots that have started to form in different places.

The steering on my 2003 Camry shakes during high speed. At times, there is a whistling noise coming from the driver front side. I thought it was related to low air pressure or unbalanced tires, but that's not the issues. Secondly, the paint on my car is peeling off, mostly the clear coating layer. I can not verify if there is a recall on this issue or not. Someone had informed me there was a recall. I am unable to locate any documented information.

Paint is fading in areas, some areas looks like there is no paint color left at all. Headlamps have had to be restored twice in less than 4 years. Dashboard is sticky, small pieces/chunks are coming off, at times the sun shade sticks to the dashboard.

I was approaching a freeway in atlanta, GA. As the connector curved, I was driving about 35 mph and gently braked about 200 feet from the freeway. The car immediately and violently accelerated, throwing my head back against the headrest; I braked harder but there was no response from the car; the car seemed to pivot on the right front tire and the rear end flew to my left about 240 degrees or so and struck the guard rail with the left rear quarter panel and bumper. The car then, continuing at high speed, ricocheted off the guard rail and the rear end pivoted toward the road, making the front bumper strike the same guard rail. The second collision scraped the paint off the center of the bumper but the impact seemed stronger than the damage would indicate. The second impact did stop the car. I make this report because my car was not one of those recalled by Toyota for this problem; but, believe me, it happened.

2007 Camry xle. Problems with hesitation when accelerating. The dealership just blew me off when I explained the problem. Acted as if this was never a problem with Camrys. Also have had problems with steering column's radio controls - when pressing the appropriate buttons, nothing would happen or, when seeking stations that were programmed in, the down or up buttons would jump to other stations not programmed. Since this problem is erratic, nothing was done by dealer. Problems with the outdoor temperature gauge - at times, it would take 15-20 minutes before the temperature would change to the correct one. Example: it read 77 degrees when it was actually in the mid-90s. Dealership did repair this last summer but now, it is reading seven+ degrees off the actual outdoor temperature. The final problem with this car is that the paint is chipping off of the frame area below the doors of the car. This has never happened with any previous car I have owned. Dealer attributed it to the fact that this car is the sport version so it rides lower. First Toyota I have owned and it looks like it may be my last.

The exterior paint on my 2007 Toyota Camry is so defective that it simply washed right off while it was being washed at a car wash. While using the car wash sprayer, I approached the front of my car and noticed the paint wash off about a 2"x3" spot. It flew off with hardly any force from the car wash as though it was not even attached. One could now see the grey primer that was below the black paint, as the primer remained intact. The black exterior paint peeled right off the car. Because the car was still under bumper-to-bumper warranty, I took the car to dennison Toyota to be repaired. Their employee said to bring the car back when the Toyota's regional paint warranty expert was in town, so they could look at it. After doing this, I was very saddened to learn that Toyota would not repair the faulty paint because they said that the car had been repainted already and they would only warrant, their own paint. They determined that the car had been repainted because they said that the now visible primer color was not the color they used. They said they used a black primer but this was a lighter grey. I bought the car with only 22k miles, so I knew it had not been repainted as the carfax was clean, and the grey primer was visible under various scratches in the paint on all sides of the car. Why on earth would someone strip and reprime the entire car? disgruntled, I emailed the Toyota customer service dept. Today, they got back to me and confirmed the primer color should be a light grey, not black indicated by the regional paint expert. They apologized for not training their people better. So I called my dealer again and he is still very squirmy saying that he doesn't know what he can do. I told him that since the premise of the regional paint experts refusal to repair the paint was false, the car should be covered by the warranty since it was the manufacturer's paint that failed before the warranty expired. We shall see what they say.
He has been experiencing problem either with the transmission or the accelerator. When he start to accelerate sometimes, usually in low speed, 20% to 40% of the time, there is a few seconds the car does not respond, and suddenly he feel a jolt and the car jumps violently. He has to look back whenever it happens to see if someone has crash in to his car. If there is a car infront of him while in traffic, this could lead potential car accident of hitting the car infront of him. He also has to make sure he does not park too close to other cars or the wall. I have help him reported the issue to dealer 2 times many months ago and they said they can not fix the problem if they can't feel the problem. I have also told the headquarter I found numerous complaints on the same hesitation/acceleration problem my father experiencing and I noticed Toyota have been telling other people same response that dealer can not fix the problem if dealer can not feel the problem, and dealer have been telling people this is normal behavior for those who revisited many times. There are hundreds of complaints about this issue if you go search on google (using keyward Toyota camery transmission problem). . Read more...

I bought a certified 2005 Toyota Camry xle from autowest Honda, roseville. I was told that the car had no accidents and the car is clean per the carfax. I have had the front passenger seat belt replaced and now the driver front seat belt is going out. I received a post card for a free appraisal at 60,000 miles and I took my car into the Toyota dealership and they told me the car has been in an accident prior to me purchasing the vehicle. The front end frame is bent and parts have been replaced and the car is maybe worth $8,000 and the car should of been sold as salvage and not certified car. The front bumper is coming off and also the paint chipped off on the side of the accident. The paint is different in the front from the hood. I do not know the date of the incident date, as for it happened prior to me purchasing the car.
The paint on the hood of my car is peeling off. It first began to bubble and then peel. The areas are very large and it looks terrible. I believe it has to be a defect in the paint job because the rest of the paint is fint.
