For general tire altimax hp - dot 65uv 3t4 2707, the last four digits (2707) of the dot tire identification number are only molded into one side of the tire; you have to remove the tire or lift the vehicle to see the full identification number, including the date of manufacture, which is needed to register the tire with the manufacturer, in order to be notified in case of a recall.

Bridgestone potenza re-92 p215-60r16 m&s. This tire has been mistakenly classified as a mud & snow tire. In my 35 years of driving, I have never driven on such a dangerous tire that was classified m&s. Any snow whatsoever makes the vehicle(2004 Toyota solara se) extremely difficult to control safely. I have no problem with the tire being used solely as a non-winter tire, but for NHTSA to allow the m&s designation on this tire is tantamount to gross negligence. If you think that I am alone in my observation on this tire, then please see website 1010tires. Com and read the numerous customer reviews about how dangerous these tires are in snow. I respectfully ask you to please investigate this tire classification.

Dunlop sp sport 4000 tires, original equipment on 2000 Toyota Camry purchased Nov 1999. He final digits of the dot number on all the tires 369. My understanding is that these digits are supposed to indicate the date of manufacture. But surely that date cannot be the 3rd week of 1969! so my complaint is that the tires do not accurately indicate the date of manufacture.
