In July 2004, I purchased a set of tires (kelly springfield explorers). One of the tires has deteriorated to the point where the steel redials are protruding from parts of the rubber. According to the manufacturer specs, the tires are rated 40,000 miles. However, this particular tire has lasted for only 16,754 miles before its deterioration. Ultimately, I had to replace the whole set. My Toyota car servicer called the manufacturer, who apparently said that too much time had passed to compensate me for obviously inferior workmanship. The tire code is as follows: (17681 kel exp 19570r14), which cost me $209. 08+ 6% sales tax, plus service. The 4 replacement tires, labor, & disposal cost $394. 25, with alignment $85. 95,plus 6% taxes.

Purchased 2007 Toyota Camry with 17k miles on July 3rd, 2007. On 12/28/2007 had to replace the tires at 29k miles due to lack of tire tread. The tires should last at least for 40-50k since that is their tread warranty. When researching tirerack. Com, there were numerous complaints on these tires, bridgestone turanza el400. (at least 90+ complaints just on this website. ) the cost to replace was $433 versus what bridgestone/firestone warranty quote of $469.
Purchased Toyota solara Aug, 2007. Tires are @ 15k miles and the tread is shot. I contacted Toyota and they stated see manufacturer for warranty. Toyota stated they would sell me new tires and then warranty treadwarte. Went to bridestone dealer and they would not honor tread warranty. So basically if you buy a new car you get no tire warranty. I think this is consumer fraud.
After installing four new tires noticed thumping noise in front. Had mechanic check the tires. He told me there was a high spot and chopping along the edge. Had tire replaced.

Reference: NHTSA campaign id # 06t016000. Cooper tire recall# 147
a starfire fliteline iv tire can apart on my car during normal driving conditions. The tread separated from the tire. I took tire and car to a cooper tire store (corner tire store panama city, florida) and they said it was not covered by the recall (cooper recall# 147). I feel that the scope of the recall needs to be expanded to include other starfire fliteline iv tires. This tire is potentially dangerous, if it had come apart at high speed, no one would know about this dangerous tire.

While driving on I-95 approaching baltimore, MD I began to feel a shaking in the steering wheel in the 1997 Toyota Camry, and then all of a sudden a loud knocking like something was wrong with the driver's side front tire. I thought I had a blowout. I steered the car to the nearest location on the side of the interstate and found that the tread separated from the continental - sportive metric 195/ tubules radial tire. This tire completely ripped off and bent the exterior car panel right in front of the bidder and to the left and below the hood which covers the wheel well and ripped up my wiring harness. A courtesy vehicle stopped to assist me and called it in to aaa who sent tow truck to bring me to a auto repair shop. I still have not the damage repaired. However, the repair man was able to reconnect the wires that powered the electronic fuel pump, power steering, lights, etc and replaced the fuses that blew. However the car will need some body/electrical work to repair the damage caused by the tire. I kept the tire and the pieces in the trunk.

To whom it may concern:
I bought a 2004 Toyota Camry from a Toyota dealer, green brook, NJ on June 2004. It came with goodyear 205/r60/15 tires. I only drove mainly on city roads and the mileage is only 20,500 miles. I rotated four tires once in the past two years. I, however, am shocked to find that the tire treads in radial direction (across from the center tread to the outer rim) of all four tires were totally gone today when I visited a car shop for oil change. I have been experiencing car sliding on wet road since I bought the car but I did not know what the cause is. The technician in the car pointed out the tread problem to me that the car sliding problem is because the worn-out outer tread could not expel water out from the inner center tread. He warned me the serious safety issue on driving such worn-out tires on a watery or iced road surface. I checked your product information that states the tire warranty is 80,000 miles. How could this worn-out tread problem happen when the mileage only reaches a quarter of the warranty. I have checked the internet that there have been many complaints on this issue specified to the Toyota Camry 2004. Toyota shall address this issue and make a recall or compensation in response to this safety concern.

My wife was traveling along on the interstate when the tread separated from the left front tire. The tread separation destroyed the left front quarter panel and driver side rear view mirror. The vehicle was no longer drivable and had to be towed. We contacted our insurance company to start a claim for the damages caused by the tire. The vehicle was towed to a body shop for repair. The vehicle is being repaired and should be ready soon. I went to the tire store where the tires were purchased 1. 5 years ago. The manager mentioned that it was a defective issue and contact bridgestone. I called bridgestone and they mailed me a claims form. Bridgestone is requesting me to ship the tire to their facility for inspection. I feel that I should not have to ship the tire to them and they still may not honor the claim. I have the defective tire and pictures of the damage that was done to the vehicle. We have been without the use of the vehicle since August 11, 2006. The tires on the vehicle are bridgestone b420 in size p205 70r14.

Bridgestone turanza p215/55r/17/ m+s/ el4pbz touring tire tire developed lateral crack near joint seam. Air pressure escaped immediately.
On or about June 16, 2005 while driving at approximately 45 mph on the main highway, the front passengers side tire "exploded" immediately prior to the explosion there was a brief thump thump thump thump coming from that area. Upon explosion I brought the car to a stop on the side of the road and changed the tire with a spare, and noticed a significant amount of damage to the front end of the vehicle - a 2000 Toyota Camry. I contacted the manufacturer (goodyear) and had them evaluate the tire . . . They claimed I must have impacted a substantial object which is not the case. The insurance company covered repairs amounting to almost $2000. 00 I still have the tire awaiting the outcome of this investigation, as goodyear will not take responsibility for this obviously defective tire.
The tires on the vehicle have bulged. Every time this has occurred consumer had taken it to dealer to be replaced. Driver's side front had to be replaced three times. Also, passenger's side front tire had to be replaced. The replacement for the passenger side front experienced tread separation. The driver side rear tire has been replaced twice. The rear passenger side tire has had no problems as of yet. All tires were purchased brand new. There was no road construction or rain when the problems occurred. Each time when this occurred consumer was driving on city streets. The average temperature was around 85 degrees or less. There were no accidents. The manufacture of all the tires was goodyear tire & rubber, size p205/65r15 rs standard. All tire were being replaced free of charge under warranty. All the replacement tires were purchased from discount tires 7401 west lake mead boulevard las vegas, nv 89128 702-636-2160 or at 4840 south jones boulevard las vegas, nv 89103 702-362-2995.
Goodyear, aquatread, 205/65r15, dot# mdup3mhp4301. All four tires are wearing on the outer edges. There is only 28,000 miles of tread wear on the tires. The vehicle has been completely aligned however, the tires continue to wear excessively on the outer edges. Owner contacted the manufacturer and is still waiting for a response. The consumer felt the tire were unsatisfactory in rain or wet roads. The vehicle would slide and skid in wet weather.
We purchased a 2004 Toyota Camry le and live in syracuse, NY. We receive about 190" of snow per year and they put goodyear integrity "all season" tires on this car. We have slid through several stop signs and intersections. These tires are touted as "all-season" but when we called goodyear they said that they weren't intended to be driven in the snow. When I asked her if winter was a season, she said yes but. . . . . I asked how much snow can these tires drive through and still perform and she stated 2-4 inches is the norm. Bottom line. . . These tires are unsafe at best. They are dangerous. They don't even perform well in rain. If you have these tires, call and complain to goodyear immediately. They shouldn't be able to put these tires on anyone's car. Why even bother with abs and airbags if the tires can't stop the car?.
Car dealer says two of the car's original tires are worn out with car at 19,970 miles. Tires are worn to the indicators on the outside. Tires were rotated to the back of the car. Dealer did not indicate if other two tires were wearing also. My son noticed side wear on the tires at about 18,000 miles. Dealer says car needs alignment but no alignment check was made to my knowledge. Dealer could not do alignment this day, I will take care of ASAP. Tires have been rotated at manufacturer's recommendations and kept at proper inflation. Car has been serviced on a regular basis. Tires are bridgestone, potenza, p205/65r15 92t.
The outer edge of tires started wearing bald just after 15,000 miles. Car was serviced at 15,000 at dealership and alignment checked out ok. At 19,000 steel belts started appearing on front set of tires. Continental was contacted and requested car manufacturer.
The consumer stated the right rear tire had a blowout/tread separation while driving 40-45 mph with only the driver in a Toyota Camry 1997 vehicle. (aftermarket equipment, installed at 68,000 miles, tire size 205/65r15 and the dot# is a3ur4422301) the tire manufacturer was contrated. The tire is available for analysis.
The consumer was driving when the rear driver side tire shredded.
Uniroyal tires 19570r14 wear on belt and tread after having tires rotated and balanced on a regular basis and front end alignments and only driving on the of a disatance of 36,000 miles.
I was driving about 65 mph south on i45 about 10 miles n. Of huntsville and starting to feel the steering wheel shaking from gently to violently in a short time. 2) think of having a flat I slowed down and began to pull over to the shoulder. While the car was slowing down and before getting on the shoulder I saw rubber pieces flying and heard several loud thumps coming from the left front side of the car. When the car came to a stop, I heard a loud fizzle sound and the car immediately leaned to the left. I got out of the car and found that all of the rubber covering road-contacting surface of the left front tire was gone exposing metal wires and the base rubber. I also noted that the left side of the bumper, the left front fender and mudguard of the car were damaged, distorted pushed closer to the left front door. The peeled, flapping and flying apart rubber also caused numerous black streaks and marks on the fender and the bumper. The left front door below the door handle was also scrapes. 3) I replaced the blown out-tire with a factory provided never-used spare tire and drove to a discount tire store on south shaver road on the way home to have the separated tire inspected. The tire technician confirmed verbally that the tire tread separated. He called general tires and was told that I have to make the call myself since this involves property damage. I drove home and called general tires to report the problem and was told to wait 5-7 days for further instructions by mail. I was to keep the blown tire and other tires that came with the car until their investigation completes. The blown out tire, the spare and the other three tires already on the car are of the same size, model, manufacturer and came with a 1999 toyato Camry when purchased. Tire manufacturer: general, model hp 400 a/s, size p205/65 r15. The dot number on the tires are acur 2v1 178.
