2 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2004 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/07/2015

I am told by the dealer that there is no fix available for this air bag recall. I feel that I am driving on wing and a prayer. I will have to inform any passenger of this problem and that they would be riding at their on risk. This is a huge problem that has been known about for a long time and should have been resolved by now. Your sharholders should be more interested in saving lives than the dividends they receive.

3 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 05/06/2015

I own a 2015 Toyota Corolla s premium. It has the radio system with blue tooth and gps. The problem is that while I am listening to the radio and the gps comes on giving directions, the radio does not fade so the radio and the gps are talking over each other and I can't understand the gps. Because of the confusion of both voices I have made the wrong turn which has almost led to accidents. 1-800 Toyota claims there is not a problem but, even my dealership service department agrees there is. There have been many complaints on this but, nothing is really being done.

4 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2011 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 02/19/2015

On 2/19/15 at around 9:27 pm my car was hit by a pickup truck in downtown bellevue, here is what happened 1. I approached the intersection to take a left from bellevue way ne to enter ne 7th st which takes into the Lincoln square cinema parking lot 2. I saw the red signal (exclusive left arrow) and waited for the light to turn green to take left. My car was first in line waiting on red 3. Once the left arrow turned green I started turning left and half way into the roadway a pickup truck (driving at around 45-50 mph) hit my car on the front passenger side (side collision) 4. With that impact my car was dragged about 15 feet and hit another car, that was standstill and waiting to turn right from ne 7thst to bellevue way ne) the impact to my car was so intense police officer filed a case and interviewed witnesses at the scene and concluded it was other guy (pickup truck) mistake. However, I am surprised why air bags didn't deploy? mine is fairly new car, only 3 year old with 33k milage. I brought it brand new in December 2011 I am taking this serious because, fortunately my wife is not in the car when accident happened. However, me and my wife usually go everywhere together, and I can't even imagine what might have happened if she was sitting in the front passenger sear. So I want to file a case against the car company for selling me a defective car.

6 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2004 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 04/09/2013

Heard news report of Toyota airbag recall back in 2013. Took car to dealership and had that issue resolved. Then in June 2014, another recall discussed on tv news and received letter in the mail stating my front passenger airbag inflator was not replaced and replacement is required. However, the letter futher states that there is "no remedy available" and it further states that you should not use your vehicle if at all possible. This is an outrageous statement on the part of Toyota. As I am the only caregiver to my elderly mother (89 yrs old), it is imperative that I have a safe operating vehicle to take her to oncologists, radiology appointments, dental appointments and primary care check-ups on a weekly basis. My vehicle needs to be repaired before a tragedy occurs with a fatality ending. This is not acceptable and Toyota will and should be held responsible to get these repairs done now verses later. To say there is "no remedy available" is like telling a victim that there is no way to find the criminal because they lack the proper equipment in the lab to solve the crime!.

8 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2011 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 06/29/2012

The first accident was in June 29 2012, while I was driving 10 miles an hour (for transit) the car in front of me stopped and I try to stop as well but my car didn¿t stop (increase its speed) and I crashed in the back of the car (I remain surprised, did not know what had happened). The second accident happened on December the 28th of 2012, around 2:00 pm, I was in my way to new jersey, 2 miles away from the washington bridge; there was a truck in front of me and I was not moving and pushing the brakes but all of a sudden my vehicle started going forward so I used the hand brake trying to stop it; but my car still crash the other car on the back. I bought this car zero miles from your dealer (hudson Toyota) and I am very upset and disappointed! this shouldn¿t happen to me if the car would be in perfect conditions!!, I am always worry driving it, I don¿t know when this will happen again!! I take the car to Toyota's December 29, 2012, revised it and said it did not find anything, was his reply in March 28 of 2013. Now I am in trouble because I used to pay $700 every six months for my car insurance and now they raise it to $ 1,300. 00 every six months.

9 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2005 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 05/14/2012

Ac stopped working in peak summer heat. After researching, realized that this is a common problem in Toyotas made before 2006. Toyota has a technical service bulletin ac002-06 which implies that the a/c condenser is not protected. The cost to replace is $600 and will go out around 50k. If you look at the a/c condenser on these cars vs. 2007-2009 Toyota has added a plastic cover to cover the hole left in 2005-2006. This is a safety issue for the warm states in the south.

10 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 05/01/2012

I was going to turn into a parking spot in the work parking garage. As I moved my foot from the gas pedal to the brake, my foot knocked the floor mat causing it to jam under the gas pedal. This caused the car to accelerate into a concrete pole despite both of my feet being on the brake. I had the recall fix done to my car to insert the plastic pieces to hold the mat in place properly and was assured by the dealership that this would never be a problem; however, they were small pieces of plastic and the mat was completely unattached from both of them. The car continued to attempt to accelerate after it was stuck on the barrier until I was able to pull the floor mat out from under the accelerator. The pieces were only inserted into the carpet and not the floor boards, and the responding officer said they pulled out really easily. He was also concerned that the airbag in the car didn't deploy in this situation due to the acceleration and amount of front end damage to the car and suggested something might also be wrong with it.

11 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/01/2011

When the car is turned on, it has a foul order, particularly in summer, when the windows have been rolled up. It seems to be coming from the ventilation system. We do not use the recirculation button, as the fresh air seems like a better idea since the ventilation system already smells foul. The smell upsets my stomach. We have tried replacing the cabin filter, and that did not help. We have also used products like febreeze all over the car, but that is only a temporary help.

12 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2006 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 04/25/2011

I have Toyota Corolla 2006 le in which ac stop working as of 4/25/10. It was working last week.

13 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 03/12/2010

I own a Toyota Corolla year 2009 which is subject to recall for the gas pedal and the floor mat (as per Toyota website) I have scheduled an appointment with my dealer hudson Toyota on 03/12/2010 to have it fixed. When I got there, my dealer refused to service my car claiming that the parts have not been provided yet by the company. Please advise me as to what should I do . Thanks.

14 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2007 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 12/29/2009

I just had the floor mat acceleration happen to me in my 2007 Corolla. I was slowing down for a red light, so my foot was on the brake. . . The car suddenly accelerated so I threw the shift into neutral and I was able to pull the mat out from under the accelerator and my car continued to slide like it was on ice and then came to a stop.

15 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2006 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 11/23/2009

The fuel pump assembly is mounted in the top of the fuel tank , hanging down submerged in the gas. One of the power wires from the pump assy. Going to the electrical connector at the top mounting plate of the pump, was badly burned and melted causing the pump not to work when it warmed up along with this electrical connector. Remember this is inside the fuel tank. This could have created a serious explosion ! Toyota issued a recall for "ecm" (electronic control module) problems associated with stalling engine, sudden loss of power and engine cranks and will not start. I think some of the "ecm " problems could have been mis-diagnosed and were this burnt wire and connector from the fuel pump. On top of that this repair cost me approx. $1500. 00 but maybe it saved my life. For safety reasons alone , this should be looked into and resolved. I hope this might help someone else before they are hurt.

16 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2010 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 11/12/2009

I bought a 2010 Toyota Corolla for my away-from-home college-student daughter. We were aware of the floormat problem when we bought the car and took delivery on October 28, 2009. The accelerator issue became known in January, 2010. The power steering issue just became public this week. I drove the car for two weeks after taking delivery to check it out for any manufacturing defects and to break it in. I did not notice any unusual behaviors for any of these problems while driving around town during this break-in period. However, I did notice when I was on the interstate while delivering the car to my daughter that the electrically-assisted power steering had an unusual vagueness to it. The car felt like it was being buffeted by high wind or turbulence from following a tractor-trailer too closely, even though the wind was calm and there were no trucks within one mile of me. As I made very minor course corrections as the road curved or to change lanes, it felt like the steering was being over-boosted, which caused a bigger path correction than intended or expected. Then I got a similar reaction in the opposite direction when I tried to correct the over-correction. I think it would be fair to say that the steering wheel felt as if it was connected to the front wheels with a rope. The car has goodyear eagle rs-a tires; I have had several sets of these tires of different sizes in the past, and don't believe they are a problem. I have driven other vehicles with electrically-boosted power steering and and I don't recall such behavior. Indeed, I have a class b cdl to drive motorcoaches and the older ones with over 1/2 million miles on them have more direct steering. This situation has not caused an accident; I just want to weigh in on the potential problem. I have offered my daughter another car to drive, but she insists on driving the Corolla.

17 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2004 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 10/29/2009

10/29/09 I turned on the ignition and the engined immediately revved into the danger zone. I was not able to stop it. I turned the car off and checked the gas peddle. . . . . The floor mat was nowhere near the pedal and there was no debris on the floor to cause this occurrence. I waited a few minutes and then restarted it. It was fine then. . . 10/31/09 I took it to Toyota dealership and was told they had not heard of any problems with the acceleration of there cars. They "performed top engine cleaning and throttle body cleaning" told me they thought this would take care of the problem. . Charged me $176. 98 and I was on my way. This had happened twice before but not to this degree.

18 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2007 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 10/01/2009

My 2007 Toyota Corolla accelerated dangerously three times . I put on brakes with all my might, put it in parked position. No damage to anything, or anyone, but the sudden acceleration was scary. It's not among the recalled models. I removed the Toyota floor mat from the driver's side. I will go back to dealer : I want them to look at the car's computer.

19 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/15/2009

We purchased a 2009 Toyota Corolla last spring from coleman's Toyota in rockville, MD. In August, we had a frightening experience. The temporary driver's floor pad became loose and crept over the accelerator, making it necessary to stop the car and remove the pad. At that time, we had not heard or seen any news about a recall, but were told by our coleman's salesman that we would have to pay $200 for front seat floor pads that would be clipped on the floor. He said Toyota did not consider attachable floor pads standard equipment in the price of a car. He finally sold me attachable pads for $40 on sept. 18, 2009. We have not had a problem since then, but we wonder why NHTSA would allow a car dealer to sell any car without firmly placed floor pads are part of the sticker price. It is now Feb. 12, 2010, and we have not received any recall notice for the accelerator problem. My wife is frightened to use the car on any major highway.

20 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2010 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/05/2009

2010 Toyota Corolla loose driver's side floormat between lodged between brake pedal and accelerator causes car to accelerate while trying to stop. Already caused two rear-end collisions. Factory-provided floor mat and holddown clips were never installed by the factory or the dealer. We were unsuccessful in getting any help from Toyota sales, USA, or rice Toyota, local dealer.

21 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 12/01/2008

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while using the jack, he noticed that the vehicle was unstable because the weight of the vehicle was not centered evenly where the notch was located. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 12,600.

22 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2004 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 04/20/2005

I was driving with my children down a residential street in eugene oregon when I pulled my foot off of the accelerator. The car failed to decelerate. I pumped the accelerator to no effect. I looked down at the accelerator and saw the floor mat wedged under the accelerator. I was able to pull the mat out and slow the car down. Later in inspecting the mat, I saw for the first time that there were two hooks designed to hold the mat in place. One of the hooks had become disengaged causing the mat to move and become lodged firmly beneath the accelerator. I had been fortunate in avoiding and accident. Years later the mat recall of other Toyota models was made. The 2004 Corolla was not part of the recall. I contacted both the main company and my local dealer. I was instructed to put the mat in my trunk. The company never made a recall of this model in spite of the issue being identical to those included in the recall. I have been concerned about Toyota's lack of action ever since. After hearing what happened with gm, I decided that I had not notified the proper authorities since nothing was done. The 2004 Corolla should have been part of the initial recall for defective floor mats. Toyota, like gm, failed to take corrective action and should be held accountable. People may have been injured or died from this lack of action and as long as a recall has not happened that danger continues to exist.

24 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 1998 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 01/02/2005

I own a 1998 Toyota Corolla. 3 or 4 years ago I threw away my driver side floor mat because I had problems with it sliding under gas pedal and the pedal would then stick. As of now I have no floor mat and that has resolved the problem.

25 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2003 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 01/01/2003

Accelerator pedal problem on Toyota Corolla 2003. The floors mats used to come on top of the accelerator and make driving unsafe. I changed them to buy different brands of floor mats and finally I stopped using the floor mats several years ago. I see no mention of the 2003 Corolla in the recalls and surprised by it.
