The glass on the instrument panel has an extreme glare in the sun. I have tinted all my windows including the windshield, but the issue persists. The hood on the instrument panel needs to be longer or the glass needs to be non glare. There is nothing on the market that will fix this issue.

My brand-new 2026 Toyota Corolla le is venting toxic chemical, burning plastic, and acetone-like fumes directly through the dashboard hvac vents and interior materials. Exposure to the cabin air causes immediate, severe systemic injury, including acute respiratory distress, throat and vocal cord inflammation resulting in a lost voice, uncontrollable sweating, and severe neurological muscle weakness. I have a critical pre-existing medical condition consisting of two lung nodules, making this chemical inhalation an immediate, life-threatening hazard to my health. This exposure has previously left me physically incapacitated for five days. The manufacturer (Toyota motor north America) has been formally notified of the defect and my documented medical injuries. However, the manufacturer is refusing to provide emergency alternative transportation or safe loaner transport and is delaying the vehicle safety inspection for a full week (until June 29). The vehicle is currently parked and completely undriveable due to the active chemical or thermal hazard it presents to vehicle occupants.
When I purchase this vehicle in 2022 the emergency parking break does make a noise when going on d or parking but it wasn't loud about a week ago, and today is June 10th, it started making a loud noise and the Toyota dealership in lebanon PA does not want to fix it.

The vehicle's infotainment system, specifically when utilizing android auto, is subject to recurrent, unprompted ui freezes and interface crashes while the vehicle is in motion. These malfunctions are induced by a persistent server-side enterprise management policy ('disabled_by_admin_policy') applied to the connected mobile device. The resulting software-induced failures cause the vehicle's display to freeze or become unresponsive, creating a severe and unpredictable distraction to the driver while operating the vehicle. Despite documenting these incidents, the manufacturer’s support team has refused to remediate the software conflict, instead instructing the user to power down the device during operation. The interface failure persists across multiple driving sessions, presenting a continuous risk of operator distraction and loss of critical navigation/safety data.
Replace heater control valve - diagnostic code p2681 indicates an internal electrical failure within the heater control valve assembly, a condition commonly seen on Toyota vehicles. Testing showed the electrical portion of the valve is open and no longer maintaining proper circuit continuity, requiring replacement of the heater control valve assembly.

This complaint is not about a specific incident, but about excessively-brilliant (blinding) headlights. In the flow of traffic, the blinded drivers far outnumber the vehicle using blinding headlights. The area those headlights cover spreads out so wide, the blinded driver is not able to see the side of the road. Insurance companies may say this problem does not cause accidents; but, I believe that is because many drivers do not dare risk driving at night. Excessively-brilliant, blinding, headlights should be banned and recalled. Those headlights are a terrible safety concern and should have been banned years ago.

Airbags did not deploy in at crash where we were hit head on and car is totaled. I do not know the rate of speed the gentleman was driving, but the speed limit in the area was 45 mph and the gentleman ran the red light and hit us as we were waiting to make a left turn. Every responder, police, wrecker, medical personnel, and tow yard remarked that the air bags should have deployed after witnessing the extensive damage. Car is currently in tow yard. Insurance has offered payout but we have not accepted as of today. I keep trying to speak with Toyota but the wait times are extensive.

The "engine maintenance required" signal keeps coming on when I start my vehicle and the a/c is on. It is a fault of a code for the bypass coolant valve, which is in perfect condition. I just took my vehicle for the regular maintenance over the weekend. The regular "maintenance required" signal went off after picking it up. After an hour or two, the "engine" signal reappeared. This is a common issue in the Toyota's and I shouldn't have to be financially responsible for a faulty code.
Car shows the below message when a/c is turned engine maintenance required visit your dealer.
I received a "do not drive" recall for my vehicle in the mail because of defective air bags. The recall letter claimed that there have been twenty-eight confirmed deaths in relation to this recall. I entered priority Toyota of chesapeake, va to address the issue. That was on Monday, April 6th, 2026. Even though there was a "do not drive" order on the recall, priority Toyota of chesapeake refused to give me a loaner vehicle. It is now Monday, April 13th, and priority Toyota of chesapeake has claimed that they are still waiting on an email to begin repairing the vehicle, which I need for transport. This is a formal complaint that priority Toyota of chesapeake, va has failed to repair the recalls to the vehicle in a timely manner.

After the car is warmed up after driving for a few minutes, I stop at a red light and the car's rpms dip from 700 rpm idle to 500ish rpm, when it starts shaking. Then the rpm would go back up to 700 rpm. This only ever happens when in drive and foot is on the brake. If I shift to neutral or park it goes away and idles normally at 700 or higher rpm. A/c on or off has no effect on this. Oddly enough, if I turn on the drls or full headlights, the rpms don't dip. I feel like it will only be a matter of time before the rpm will dip low enough to the point where the engine will die on me. This is a safety concern. No check engine lights. I have cleaned the maf sensor, changed engine air filter, cleaned throttle body, changed pcv valve, cleaned injectors, run fuel injector cleaner through the gas tank, replaced my engine mounts. Still, the issue persists. I have no idea why.

The factory-applied super white (paint code 040) paint on my vehicle has peeled down to bare metal on multiple exterior body panels. The peeling is not the result of any collision damage, scratches, or external trauma — it is consistent with the known factory paint adhesion defect that Toyota itself acknowledged through customer support program zkg, which covered this exact vehicle model, year, and paint color. Toyota's own program documentation states the defect occurs when sunlight degrades adhesion between the factory paint primer coat and the base metal electrodeposition layer. With paint peeled to bare metal, the affected panels are now exposed to moisture and the elements, creating a risk of structural rust and corrosion over time. I purchased this vehicle used in 2023 and was never notified of the customer support program. By the time I discovered the program existed, the coverage had expired. Toyota has declined to provide any assistance. Toyota acknowledged this as a manufacturing defect affecting approximately 1. 74 million vehicles under program zkg. Owners of 2016 Corollas who purchased their vehicles used were not adequately notified, and coverage has now lapsed for recently expired vehicles despite the defect being identical to those Toyota previously covered. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether Toyota's customer support program zkg adequately covered all affected vehicles and owners, and whether an expanded or extended remedy is warranted.

Coolant water control valve short circuit. Causes dealer message that won't clear and dealer wants $600 to replace a $30 part. Part is extremely difficult to get to and should not be a wear item.
Unknown—he only performed the inspection, as I am a lyft driver and my account was suspended due to a recall issued by the NHTSA.
While I was driving during the evening time on March 7, 2026, my rear passenger window exploded, for seemingly no reason, as I stepped out of the vehicle I noticed no one around and I called the police and I was given a report number which is 26–01784 and that is with the westminster police department!.

My 2010 Toyota Corolla is experiencing progressive paint failure due to a known manufacturer defect involving factory-applied blizzard pearl or super white paint. The affected component is the factory paint system, specifically the adhesion between the topcoat and primer, which is failing and causing the paint to peel off in sheets from exterior body panels. The defective paint is available for inspection upon request. This condition creates a potential safety concern, as sections of paint may detach while the vehicle is in motion, creating debris that could pose a hazard to surrounding motorists. In addition, exposed underlying surfaces may become more susceptible to corrosion over time, which could affect the integrity of exterior body panels. The issue was previously confirmed by an authorized dealership during inspections conducted under the manufacturer’s customer support program for paint peeling on vehicles equipped with blizzard pearl or super white paint. During the active coverage period, only certain visibly affected panels were refinished, while other factory-painted panels were left untreated. Since the program has expired, the previously untreated panels are now exhibiting the same paint peeling and failure that the program was intended to address. The paint deterioration developed gradually over time and was not the result of external damage. No warning lamps or messages were present prior to the failure.

Today I noticed that both of my door front locks passenger and driver side do not even actuate to have the door locked and unlocked by key of by the alarm. They completely stopped working. Even I contacted Toyota corporate several times about this issue (800) 331-4331 and got ignored. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately. This is a safety concern for me and family.

I purchased a vehicle that was represented as having approximately 92,000 miles. I have since discovered the actual mileage is approximately 260,000 miles, which indicates odometer tampering. This is a violation of both federal and California law. I have documentation supporting this claim.
“engine maintenance required, see your dealer” light comes on the dashboard with a warning bell. Did a diagnostic test, and the code is the coolant bypass valve malfunction. This seems to be a common issue among 2020-2021 models. This has been inspected by professional mechanics.
On the morning of January 7, 2026, while I was on my way to work, I experienced a dangerous incident involving my vehicle. As I arrived at the first stop on the street, I suddenly heard a loud explosion. Immediately afterward, pieces of glass began falling onto my windshield. I pulled over and exited the vehicle to assess the situation. Upon inspection, I discovered that the sunroof of my car had completely shattered. Glass was scattered across the roof, windshield, and interior of the vehicle. Prior to the explosion, there were no visible signs of damage to the sunroof. The incident occurred without warning and posed a serious safety risk. I am submitting this complaint to formally document what happened and to request that the matter be investigated and addressed appropriately.
The paint on my 2013 Toyota Corolla, super white (040), is peeling extensively down to the primer on the roof, hood, trunk, and door frames and pillar areas. Toyota previously acknowledged this issue as a manufacturing defect affecting 2008–2017 Corollas and issued a warranty enhancement program to address it. My vehicle’s claim for assistance was denied solely due to the program expiration, even though the defect persists. The peeling is widespread, severe, and not consistent with normal wear or environmental exposure. The metal surfaces are exposed, increasing the risk of corrosion. I am submitting this complaint to document the defect and Toyota’s refusal to assist despite prior acknowledgment.

I traded in my 2022 Corolla le for a 2026 Corolla se and I got my car on December 19th, 2025 and ever since I got it, the wireless charger hasn’t been working not once. I turn it on, it charges and the light is green and after a few seconds, it stops charging and flashes orange repeatedly. I tried it with different phones, without a case, and brought it to the dealership where they replaced the wireless charger but the issue continued with the new charger, so they put back the original one. The dealership told me it’s a defect issue and that other people had similar issues.
Everything is good.
My engine stalled while driving. My low tire pressure light came on and an hour or so later I was turning left at a light. My left turn signal was on. Suddenly my car stalled and the message that stated put in park, steering power low showed on screen. Put car in park and restarted and it started right up. Dealer said no codes and could not replicate. Only 18,000 miles on car. Huge safety issue!!!!!.
At approximately 66,200 miles, the slave cylinder on the clutch started failing. It will be dropped off at the dealership tomorrow afternoon for repair, hopefully driven under its own power. The clutch feels spongy and friction point is unusual. This puts others’ safety at risk because the clutch could fail, causing the car to lurch forward from being stopped, and puts my safety at risk because the car could break down at any time when it finally completely fails. There are no warning lamps, just a clutch prematurely failing. This is a very common problem with the manual transmissions in this model. I purchased a Toyota for reliability, and this part should not fail for several hundred thousand miles, if ever. There needs to be a recall on these cars.

I am reporting an ongoing safety issue involving the skid control ecu and loss of power break recall on my 2024 Toyota Corolla hybrid. The first time, my vehicle experienced loss of power brake assist and displayed a “hybrid system malfunction” message on screen. I towed my car to Toyota, confirmed it was related to the skid control ecu recall and repaired it under the recall at no cost, they did a software update. The second time, the exact same problem reoccurred. I had the vehicle towed again to a Toyota dealership, but this time, they refused to perform diagnostics unless I paid out of pocket for a 12-volt battery replacement. The dealership stated they cannot confirm if the issue is recall-related until diagnostics are complete, but they also refuse to complete diagnostics without me paying first. My vehicle is currently undrivable and unsafe, and I rely on it for daily transportation and work. So they made my pay for this 12v battery to do the diagnostics and now they tell me it is not recall related but one of the relays not working, the repair will be cover under warrant but I had to pay for battery and rental cars . I believe Toyota is in violation of its obligations under 49 u. S. C. §30120, which requires manufacturers to correct recall-related safety defects free of charge. This issue leaves me without a vehicle and unable to verify that the recall has been properly resolved. I have opened a case with Toyota brand engagement. I am requesting that NHTSA review this case and ensure that Toyota complies with recall repair requirements so my vehicle can be safely diagnosed and repaired without charge.
Component: visibility / sun visor vehicle: 2023 Toyota Corolla both the driver-side and passenger-side sun visors in my 2023 Toyota Corolla have failed within approximately two years of normal use. The visors no longer remain in their intended position and instead fall downward unexpectedly. When this occurs, the visor drops directly into the driver’s field of vision, creating a significant safety hazard by obstructing forward visibility while driving. This condition can happen without warning and requires the driver to physically move the visor out of the way, causing distraction and increasing the risk of an accident. The vehicle has not been modified, damaged, or subjected to abnormal conditions. The visors were used only as intended. Sun exposure is a normal and expected condition for this component, and failure under these circumstances indicates a potential defect in materials or workmanship. Both visors failing in the same manner suggests a systemic issue rather than isolated wear and tear. The vehicle was taken to a Toyota dealership, where I was initially told the repair would be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. However, the claim was later denied and classified as “wear and tear” due to sun exposure. Given the function of sun visors, this explanation is not reasonable. This issue presents an ongoing safety concern due to impaired driver visibility. I am submitting this complaint so that this defect can be reviewed and tracked for potential broader impact.

I was driving normally to work and the vehicle stalled without warning and became difficult to steer. The dashboard displayed “engine stopped, steering power low”. The vehicle was stalled in the middle of the roadway and could not be restarted for 10 minutes. This was a very dangerous way to stop and then not be able to restart. People had to get out of their vehicles and help me push it out of the roadway. After 10 minutes the vehicle started and drove normally without any issues. The battery and alternator tested good. The mechanic can not find anything wrong. I am scared to drive the vehicle now and have an accident due to this incident.
After having no indication of any issue, my 2018 Toyota Corolla has stopped re-starting after fueling. The only light that appeared was regarding my battery. My battery is brand new and tested.

7 months ago when my car had 56k miles my transmission was bad and they replaced but now is giving problems again I took it to lia Toyota of rockland and they didn’t do anything about it, that the transmission is ok, but bad smell is coming out of the transmission and is hard to shift and it gives like hard pull when it changes into gear and u can hear the clunky sound of the transmission and it has only run for 19k miles and it has been only 7 months since they replaced.
Today while merging into the high way the car suddenly slowed down to 40 miles per hour and would not accelerate . We took the car to Toyota however they said they could not find any thing or replicate the problem.
The radiator had a severe pin hole in several veins causing coolant to leak out and making the car overheat. The overheating seems to happen over a long distance drive jeopardizing my safety and family. To prevent futher damage to the car and my safety. Yes. I have to wait for hours on the side of the highway for hours-to let the car cool down and add recommended coolant for the car. The vehicle was inspected by Toyota of san louis obispo. 09/29/25. I am not certain if the vehicle was inspected by the manufacturer but the service repair was done @ Toyota dealersip. The temperature or the coolant gauge moved erratically.
My clutch slave cylinder broke. This is a known problem for 6mt Toyota Corolla hatchbacks yet there hasn't been a recall. Some go bad as soon as 40,000 miles which is very premature.
I’m getting engine maintenance required visit your dealer, and it has to do with the a/c it only comes on when I turn on the a/c which has to work the “coolant bypass valve” I’ve looked online and many others have had issues it’s the 2020 and onward year Toyota, I’m not the only one many have mentioned they reach out the dealer & state this is not a recall and need to pay out of pocket to fix, but with some many people having same issue, doesn’t seem right that it wouldn’t be a recall with its multiples of people having this same issue.
