2020 Toyota Corolla se -(vehicle purchased new) (cvt transmission) upon minimal to normal acceleration vehicle makes a hard shift feel like a bump kick in acceleration of speed between 8-9 mph. Will feel more of a hard shift at times if coasting with minimal speed then to the normal acceleration (start and stop traffic type of conditions). Periodically once reaching to speed of 36 mph seems like the transmission is starting to slip then continues with normal operation. While sedentary at stop light vehicle has had loss of power in and out near stalling out. Separate occasion without the air conditioner being on, a rough idol took place. At times if put in sports mode shifting is smooth without too much trouble; with exception of at higher speed open road removing off the gas pedal will make a whining high rev noise like the transmission went out and did not down shift even with pressure applied to the brake. Will then down shift after approximately 15-20 seconds. Lane departure indicators have gone off without there being a correct response for that action taking place. Vehicle has been owned for less than ninety days and appears to continually further in its defects.

The air conditioner compressor after diagnostics were done is shown to be failing already and it looks like others have had similar issues. The compressor just shuts itself off and straight hot air begins blowing, which is not fun or safe. It happened suddenly in dead heat and does not give any warning signs before going out.

Takata inflators - the vehicle hit a curb and blew the passenger side tire. The seat belt light and air bag light has been flashing ever since about 65,000 miles. The air bag did not deploy and the seat belt still locks. If an accident occurs from the rear, side or front, the airbag would not deploy and the seat belt may not lock. The horn line disconnected from the horn unexpectedly. This happened on 6/15/18 at 88,585 miles. The air conditioner has a leak from the main line that connects to the square box at the back of the car wall. When the car is sitting still at a light or stop sign, hot air starts blowing.

The air conditioner will not blow at all even though the ac light is on. It has an atc dial and has been sporadically doing this for over a year now. It will just shut off and not work. It has come back on eventually in the past however now it has been a week and still nothing this car is only 3 years old so I should be having problems with this.
Drain hose in air conditioning was clogged causing water to accumulate at the bottom of the car and soaked all the carpet. This is a relatively new car and this should not have happened. Other unknown damage may be done to the car as a result of water leakage (air bags, electrical wiring) which could pose a safety hazard.

I only have 44,000 miles on my 2005 Toyota Corolla and the air compressor went out. I have read that this problem has occurred in numerous Corollas from the same year. I believe this needs to be looked into and recalled or I will sell my car and never buy a Toyota again. I will also post on social media about Toyota's negligence and mistreatment of customers. I have a 2 year old daughter that needs air conditioning, so I am very upset over this issue. It is not just an "inconvienence" as it was called by Toyota's "customer service". Please sort this issue.

Air conditioning problem: the vehicle has intermittent air conditioning. Sometimes it blows cold, other times it blows hot (randomly). I have had it at the dealer. They have confirmed the problem exists, but are at a loss as how to fix it. They told me they have seen this problem before.
I own a 2005 Toyota Corolla. This week I noticed that my air conditioner was blowing hot air. When I had it looked at by a mechanic, I was told that debris got into the condenser and damaged it, requiring a repair. I researched the problem and discovered that Toyota issued technical service bulletin ac002-06 "lower grille mesh protection cover," which acknowledges that the failure to include a protection cover near the mesh grille has caused debris to get into the air conditioner condenser, and thereby damaging it. Toyota has included the grille protection cover in subsequent Toyota Corolla models, but it refuses to add the cover to the older models or reimburse customers for the expense in replacing damaged condensers that have resulted from this design defect. Toyota issued technical service bulletin ac002-06 "lower grille mesh protection cover.
The contact owns a 2013 Toyota Corolla. While driving approximately 30 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated and the track off message appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the water damage was due to an air conditioning failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 15,000.
2009 Toyota Corolla. Consumer writes in regards to water pump pulley disengagement and need for third set of tires on vehicle. The consumer stated he heard a noise coming from under the hood, followed by a sound of something hitting the highway. He gradually slowed down and pulled to the side of the road, raised the hood and discovered the flywheel for the water pump sitting on top of the engine. He walked back up the highway in an attempt to locate what fell from the vehicle. He gathered what he found and was loose under the hood, and had the vehicle towed to the nearest service center and had a new water pump installed. While at the service center, the brakes were serviced and a new set of tires were recommended because they were cupping. The consumer took the vehicle to another establishment to have the tires inspected. Firestone, informed the consumer the left front and rear tow was out of alignment and they adjusted the left front to correct it, but informed him, they could not make any adjustment for the rear, as there was no guarantee given that the alignment issue was the cause of the cupping. Within a week of having the new water pump installed, the consumer began to hear a clicking sound from under the hood, so he took the vehicle back to the repair shop, to determine the cause of the clicking sound. An inspection revealed the a/c compressor needed to be replaced.

On may 19, 2013 my husband and children were at a rest stop. . . Our 2006 Toyota Corolla was parked engine on with the air condition on as well when they heard a loud explosion from the back of the car the rear windshield had shattered into a million pieces. It is still being held up by the tint. We took the car in to atkins kroll Toyota dealership and they just kept telling us there was nothing they could do because it wasn't a recall. This is a huge safety issue. . . My children could have had shards of glass all over their faces if it wasn't for the tint or had they been driving on the road could have caused an accident. There should definitely be a recall on this. While still at the dealership we were referred to the body shop to get it investigate it and the body man said it could have been caused by the metal clippings that hold the windshield together but still to no avail.

I have experienced this since the beginning of the purchase. I use the air condition. If I am done, I turn the ac off. After using the ac, there is a foul odor that arises. I have tried to open up the vents. I have checked underneath the car. I have opened the front where it leads to the cabin filter. I have changed the cabin filter several times. The odor still persists. The only thing that the car dealers have told me to do was to run the heater after using the ac. It is redundant if I have to run the heater in a hot day.

2006 Toyota Corolla air conditioner stopped blowing at 51,000 miles. After reviewing several posts on auto repair sites it appears as though the air conditioner stops working on 2006 models between 48,000 and 55,000 miles some issues have been condenser and others are the blower and/or relay.
The a/c condenser was replaced due to Toyota's admitted design flaw as per their technical service bulletin ac002-06 titled lower grille mesh protection cover. Which informs an owner that their a/c condenser is unprotected which will cost them $590. However, Toyota failed to back their product up by reimbursing it. This is safety hazard in the southwest because of the extreme heat and if someone with children goes to turn their air conditioning on and it does not work this poses health risks.
