The car was in stationary mode on a city street and waiting for the red light to turn green. After a few minutes, the turned green and I accelerated a little as the car begin to move but out of nowhere the car turned off and all systems stopped, including the computer board, but before all went blank there was a message about system error with a triangle symbol, and I had to manually activate the parking lever as well as press the brakes. Thankfully everyone in their lanes noticed my odyssey and made space for the other upcoming cars as I activated the emergency flashing lights. However, I turned the car fully off by turning the key and waited some minutes as I was adjusting to the situation. I then turned the car on again and worked. A few days after the incident, I took the car to the dealership and the staff member who assisted me said that the system's record showed that there as an error history but did not say which component part or where the malfunction was located that caused the car's safety risk in regards to the computer system and engine to stop without any notice. This response to what happened was not satisfactory to me because nothing was done and no paperwork or record was given to me about the system check or report. This incident and unknown response to the malfunction cause have made me worry about this happening again in the future under other unsafe circumstances and that it could cause me to have an accident.

My 2012 Toyota Corolla has issues with the electric locks. When I try unlocking my vehicle using the keypad or the electric locks within the vehicle, it simply does not work on my two front doors despite having electric locks in my vehicle. My research of other customers' issues online reveal similar issues to mine. . Read more...

My complaint is not with Toyota, it is with the new standards that require an extreme angle in the headrests of new vehicles. I am unable to use the headrest in my car unless I adjust the seat to recline and use a cushion behind me. The owner's manual advises against both practices, and they don't seem very safe to me. When I sit properly, the headrest forces my chin into my chest and causes neck pain and headaches. The headrest angle is not adjustable. My research shows that many others are having this problem as well. I understand that this new configuration is required by your standards to prevent whiplash injuries in accidents. Please reconsider your ruling on this issue and allow us to drive safely and comfortably with adjustable headrests. Is it better to injure all of us to prevent whiplash in the few who get hit?.

This happened on I-95 north in maryland between MD-32 and MD-175. At highway speed, the manual transmission of my 2006 Toyota Corolla came apart. The car immediately started making noise and began to shake. I lost control for a few seconds from the shaking and the feeling as if someone was pressing on the brake pedal. Once I gathered that something had failed (vs. A collision with a small object), I was able to supply extra gas and grip the wheel hard to prevent an accident. While making my way off the highway, the car squealed and grinded. I was only able to get into gear after several attempts at the two stop lights between the highway and the first parking lot I could find. I was fortunate. . Read more...

Speed control disengages and decelerates rapidly without warning on highway upgrades at approximately 65 mph. This model is a manual 5 speed. When the dealer was contacted, their service manager responded that they had received several similar complaints on this model, but that Toyota had not provided any updated program to correct the problem at this time. The deceleration is not a slowing based on weight, but a total disengagement of the control, which is likely to result in a rear-end collision from behind should any vehicle, regardless of size, be following at even a recommended distance. This has happened in this vehicle on 4 occasions, and from what the dealership acknowledged is a chronic problem, inherent to the 2013 Toyota Corolla and other models that share the same program.
