The airbag warning light came on when I started the car and stayed on. I contacted the dealer and found out that my vehicle was under recall for the airbag. I took it in and had that repair done, but the warning light did not go off. The dealer said it needs a new spiral cable assembly, at a cost of nearly $500. The dealer said the airbag may not inflate during a crash. In searching the internet for information about this repair, I discovered that other Toyotas are under recall for this same problem. I would like my vehicle to be considered for inclusion in this recall and the cost of repair covered.

The passenger side air bag "off" light, warning light and main airbag light come on for no apparent reason and remain on. The vehicle had been parked and we have never had this message before. Error code b1650 and b1797. The error can not be cleared. The "fix" is to replace the floor harness then the central air bag ecu and then the seat assembly until it is fixed. Aprx $5000. 2 Toyota mechanics gave us different diagnostic, one telling us there was corrosion and the other saying there was a broken wire. Independent checking of the harness showed neither. I am from canada but thought I should submit this here also since I see complaints for this issue in the u. S,.
My srs airbag warning light came on out of nowhere. Shortly after that my steering wheel continually clicks when I turn it. And within the same day now my horn stopped working as well as all of the buttons on the steering wheel no longer work including the cruise control. The light never went away and the functions of the steering wheel no longer work when there is no cause or reason for this to happen.

Takada recall. My car warning light for the driver air bag is showing that the airbag is not operating. I called my Toyota dealer about the warning light. They are having me bring in the car for a diagnostic however they are saying that the airbag is not in stock and is only affecting places with high himidity. High temperatures also affect the airbag ability to inflate. They are going to perform a diagnostic but are now claiming it is a cable and will most likely charge me for the diagnostic. The air bag needs to be replaced weather Toyota has provided the part of not. Toyota is responsible and should have had these air bags available to be replaced in the cars on the recall list. I noticed the light on when starting the car and the light telling me that the passenger air bag is off did not go off as I drove. I called the dealership today 8/24/2017.

Takata recall: the passenger airbag was replaced under a recall several years ago. The driver's airbag warning light is now on. Also, the right front wheel bearing has been replaced at least six times since I purchased this vehicle in December, 2008. The first two or three were replaced while the car was still under warranty, but I have had to replace the same right front wheel bearing another three to four times thereafter at my own expense. The last time I had to replace the wheel bearing was in December, 2016, while on vacation. It seems the problem just hasn't been permanently solved. So frustrating and expensive for another wonderful vehicle.
