The airbag light on the passenger side of the car started blinking red when the car is off, when the car is on the light says the airbag is off. I took it to the Toyota dealer like I was recommended to do after checking the recall website. Auto nation Toyota at 12111 gulf freeway in houston texas for them to fix the problem. After in less than an hour the service attendant called me and told me that the car needed the windshield wipers replaced and the ac and engine filters needed to be replaced and it was going to cost 4 or 5 hundred dollars to fix. When I told her I just wanted the airbags fixed she told me the car was ready and I could come and pick it up. When I got there to pick it up the airbag light was still on as if nothing was done to fix the problem. When I told her that they did not fix the car that the airbag light was still on. I was told that there is a lot of work involved in fixing the problem to where the light would go of such as sensors, electrical, and computer resetting. And that they are only required to replace the airbag. I responded with "that was not was I was informed. I was informed that you are supposed to repair the problem and repairing the problem means that the light would go off in its original state or how would I know that the problem is fixed. " he said I was informed wrong especially if I got the information off the internet. In other words, he was telling me that it was too much work for them to repair for free. So what do I do now, am I suppose to continue to drive in an unsafe car I feel like because I was not willing to pay for the services that to be repaired then they were not going to do anything at all. That tells me that they are price gouging and doing illegal business practices and something needs to be done immediately .

Air bag light stays on. When I looked up any recalls on this year of Toyota, there were alot of complaints and no fixes. I think Toyota should fix this safety problem with the air bags, it is a big deal not feelig safe on the road. The light came on when we were driving. We tried to reset it but has no effect. There are a lot of complaints on the 1998 Toyota Corolla. This is not a coincidence, it is a safety hazzard that needs to be addressed by the manufacuturer. Toyota needs to step up and fix the problem, it is there fault. Any help would be appreciated.

My airbag was recalled I got it fixed and now the airbag light is on. I took it back it back to the dealer and they said it has nothing to do with the work they did. I have had this car for 3 years with no lights on and now, after I get the recall fixed, a light comes on and its not related?.

Last week while I was driving my car the airbag light came on. I was so worried for my safety to drive my car. I went online to search if my car had a airbag recall and it did. I made an appointment with the Toyota dealership to do the repair. While I was waiting there they told me that my car had another problem, I was supposed to replace the spiral cable (code b1811). If I didn't replace that the airbag light was still going to be there and the airbag wasn't going to work if I replace them . The horn on my car hasn't been working for so many years and I didn't know that was connected with the spiral cable assembly. I paid $510. 22 to replace that. I'm the only owner for that car. Toyota company should have a recall for the spiral cable because it is connected to the airbag and we as a customer should not pay for replacement. My car had 11 recalls so far. Other Toyota's have recalls for the same problem but not with 2005 year old Toyotas.

On February 4, 2020, I took my Toyota Corolla to jim norton Toyota of okc, 8401 NW expressway, oklahoma city, ok 73162, (405) 721-1911, for a safety recall. They did work on my car. They said that they did replace the air bag, but it would not work if I was in an accident. The air bag light is on, indicating that the wire related to it needed to be replaced. They said the cost of doing the wire replacement is not covered by the recall. It would cost about $700. 00 to have the wire replaced. It seems that the wire replacement should have been done with the original bag replacement since it won't work without it. Am I required to pay the $700. 00 to get the airbag in proper working order? the recall notice says that the remedy for the safety recall will be performed free of charge to me.
The air bag light came on in my car. I brought it to the dealership where they identified the problem as the pls p&a center airbag sensor and explained that the malfunction was the same as in other cars that had been recalled. Because it was the same malfunction, I believe that mine and other similar vehicles should be covered by the recall to prevent harm to other drivers.

Saturday, June 2. The driver's airbag light came on intermittently while I was driving my 2007 Toyota Corolla. I immediately took my vehicle to the local Toyota dealer. The diagnosis was intermittent open circuit in the spiral cable. I read on the NHTSA website that this is a problem with other Toyota models and years and that a recall notice was sent to owners and repairs were made at no cost to the consumer. Tuesday, June 5. The defective part was replaced and I was told that Toyota would not pay for the parts and labor. I spoke with the director of parts and service to ask why I was charged for the repair. He said the spiral cable was not related directly to the airbag, so it is not a recall issue; it's a part that wears out, like a worn-out tire or brake pads that one would need to replace. I told him that other Toyota vehicles with defective spiral cables were repaired at no cost to the consumer. He said that there was nothing he could do to help because it was out of his hands and that I would need to call the 800 number for customer service. June 6. I called customer service and explained my concern. The representative who took my information said that I would get a call back in a day after he researched the situation. Thursday, June 7. I received a call from customer service informing me that my request for Toyota to pay the for the repair was denied. This is obviously a safety-related defect as other vehicles were recalled for the same reason. I was told I could drive my vehicle without the defective part replaced, but I didn't have peace of mind that it would be safe to me or to others in the event of an accident while driving; I needed to be assured that the airbag would deploy under conditions it is meant to deploy. Toyota should reimburse me for the total cost as the airbag did not meet the standards to safely operate my vehicle.
The car is 3 years old. 56k miles. Air bag light has come on with a constant blinking seatbelt light.
