36 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2012 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 07/24/2017

Takata recall I feel uncomfortable driving around my car knowing my passengers are unsafe. Although it is recommended for passengers to not use the front seat, it is frustrating knowing I am paying for a car that cannot be used completely. I cannot avoid using the front seat at times because I usually drive around with my friends or family and they might not all fit in the back seat at times. This is also concerning because children sit in the front seat at times and I do not want to be putting their lives at risk. It is not fair I have to continue to pay each month for my car when the problem will not be resolved until December. Also, I have had the airbag light go on while driving on the highway. This has occurred while no passengers are present. I am not sure if this is related to the recall, but it brings me concern. A few of my friends know of the takata recall, and refuse to sit in the front seat of my car. Why should I be paying for a car that puts others at risk? as careful of a drive one might be, any accident can happen from here to December.

Takata recall - I took my car to make the labor because the takata recall and few month later the light of the air bag in the front panel is on (red). Then I take my other car (the same model and year except for the color) and happen the same thing. Today both cars have the airbag light on. No body have found why, but it was after the labor because of the recall of the airbags. I dont remember right now the specific date.

I looked up my vehicles recalls and noticed that there is one related to airbags. I contacted the dealer and they told me that they have a 6 week or more wait on the recall and they will contact me. I find this to unacceptable for a safety feature.

67 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2007 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 10/06/2016

"takata recall" I took my 2007 Toyota Corolla in for the air bag recall to centennial Toyota in las vegas, nv , the service agent let me know the air bag indicator light still remained on after the recall service was completed. A $ 150 diagnostic charge was going to be applied to find what else be wrong with the safety equipment on the Corolla. I made contact with Toyota corporation to explain the dilemma. (800) 331-4331 I spoke with kristina and was informed that recall situation has been fix and if I wanted to know what other safety issues I might be having with the air bag indicator light being on, I would have to pay for it. . I will get the diagnostic done, and report the other failed safety devices not covered by recall.

68 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2006 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/22/2016

Takata recall- the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the airbag recall. At the time the airbag light was on constantly while the car was being driven. I advised the dealer/repair that the airbag light was on and that we had received notice of the recall. The airbag was repaired/replaced. Several days later the airbag light came back on and stayed on, therefore I contacted the dealer. They advised me to bring the car back to the dealer. We have now taken it back to the same dealer and now they say it cost $110 for the assessment and $550 for the spiral cable. I feel that this issue should have been included in the airbag recall and repaired at the time the recalled part was repaired. When I called Toyota customer service today to ask about the recalled air bag they made me feel as if we were in the wrong because we did not take it back immediately and that these were two separate issues. We took the car back at our earliest convenience and were shocked at the cost of repairs and that it is not covered by the recall and was not corrected when the recall repair was performed. In addition, other vehicles have recalled this part such as Dodge, Volkswagen, Hyundai, kia, and just this year Jeep issued a recall on the same part. I have included these document in this complaint. I feel that this part should be looked at to ensure the safety of all those driving a Toyota.

69 Air Bag Light On problem of the 2006 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/20/2016

Went to renew safety inspection for the state of hawai'I, and they failed me for having the air bag light on. As it happens, there is a recall for the side airbag on "select Toyota models". Although, they didn't apply it to my car. Either that, or the technician, who took care of it before I owned it, didn't actually fix the issue, and just signed off on it. I'm still guessing that it never got addressed, because Toyota hasn't issued a recall notice for my VIN. The local servco Toyota shop will not fix the issue for free, if there is no open recall or I don't have the notice in my hand. In other words, I will be illegal to drive, in two days.
