I was in a car accident last year and I was sitting on the passenger seat and my husband was on the drivers seat along with my two children in the back seat. We were rear ended by high speed vehicle driving erratically. All of us suffered whip lash and back injuries in the accident. Also, the airbag never got deployed and the air bag sign is on the das board. This is very dangerous life and death situation and I am upset for buying a brand new car which I hoped that all safety equipment will be working. I was shocked and hurt at the same time. After that few months later I received airbag recall notice to take the vehicle for repair to the nearest Toyota dealer ship. I was informed by the dealership that they couldn't do anything and they couldnt fix the air bag sign coming on the dashboard and they didn't fix the defective airbag. I am referring to this serious issue without any outcome. My injured to me and my family is not worth driving defective vehicle. I need someone who can get back to me and provide solution.

My clock started going out. Sometimes it would be on and other times it would go off and now it turns on and off in its own time factor when I am drivng and the car is in motion and when I am stopped at traffic lights. . I asked the Toyota dealer if they could fix my clock. I had them do a diagnostic test on the clock which cost around $110 approx. . They said they could fix my clock for $416. 31 and that is was connected to my air bags. My Toyota dealer said they replaced my takata airbag on the front passenger side on 2-18-2016, and told me the other airbags were not takata. But I wondered if my clock doesn't work and it's tied into my airbags, if I get into a wreck will my airbags deploy or not deploy becasuse I haven't fixed my clock?.

Takata recall. Currently 8. 5 months pregnant. Due to the fact that Toyota cannot guarantee not only a timeline till when a solution will be provided to resolve the recall, but that the passenger airbag will not deploy with no one in it, my vehicle is not safe to drive. The risks greatly outweigh any benefit of driving the vehicle.

Takata recall hello. On my 2006 Toyota Matrix xr, my airbag light has been on for over a year. Recently I brought it into jim coleman Toyota in bethesda, and they told me that the assembly, the clockspring assembly, which is triggering the code is not covered in the recall. However, from what I am reading online including NHTSA, the clock spring is part of the assembly of the airbag and should be replaced. The cost to replace this part is over $1000, and not fixing it prevents me from selling the car. The airbag has never been deployed, and according to Toyota of bethesda, they are not responsible for replacing the assembly, per the recall, but just the airbag, which I did not think was under recall.
Side airbag did not deploy in a side impact collision while moving.

Please advise Toyota to recall the 2008 Matrix, as it has an affected takata airbag that may lead to catastrophic injury during deployment. I own a 2008 Toyota Matrix which is in the same generation as the 2005-2007 Toyota Matrix models. The airbag used in the 2008 Matrix is identical to that which is used in the 2005-2007 Toyota Matrix models. However, the 2008 Toyota Matrix airbag was not recalled (unlike the 05-07 models) even though it has the same airbag part number as the recalled models. I believe that Toyota may have overlooked the 08 Matrix as it occurred during a limited production run (there were very few 08 Matrixes produced; they began selling the 09 in early 08). The airbag in my vehicle is not deployed, but I feel unsafe knowing the same airbag was recalled but my model year was overlooked.
Airbag light on main instrument panel comes on intermittently, when the car is running. When this light is on, the airbags will not be deployed in an accident. There is a very serious safety concern. Having done just a quick search of the internet, it appears that this particular problem is very common, yet there is no recall. It seems most of the issues causing this problem are related to either the spiral airbag cable or the vehicle clock. Please consider the urgency of this, as I have read of folks having high speed head on collisions while the light was on, and the airbags did not deploy.

Srs airbag light comes on and off intermittently. Clock also goes in and out. Was told the clock and the srs system are linked, and that when the light is on the airbag may not deploy. From doing research this is a very common problem in this car, and it is dangerous. Toyota couldn't diagnose problem, suggested replacing clock assembly.
I was traveling at approximately 35 mph when I first started to apply pressure to my brakes. There was no tension what so ever. I was standing on them and the brake petal was hitting the floor. As a result, I ran though a stop sign and hit a concrete barrier. My steering wheel also locked up and my airbag never deployed. I lost my entire front bumper and the tank that holds the windshield fluid was cracked. The car was towed. I contacted Toyota's manufacturer and was told " it happens". I feel that there was a defect in the braking system and the airbag system. All I want is my car fixed but no one will give me the time of day. I bought the car in February of this year at a Toyota dealership. The car was pre-certified. Thank you.
I was idling at a complete stop waiting for the traffic light to turn when I was rear ended at 50 mph into the car in front of me and my airbag did not deploy. I have suffered many injuries to my neck and spine.
Drivers side airbag warning light intermittently stays on since sept. 2012, but now stays on most of the time since August 2013. This light means the air bag will not deploy in a collision. Waiting for a recall letter from Toyota. No recall yet for 2005 model and newer. This is also an issue with Toyota Matrix and corollas before 2005.
The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Matrix. The contact was driving 5 mph and attempting a left turn into a parking space when the vehicle accelerated unexpectedly and jumped a curb before crashing into a trash bin. The vehicle was not destroyed. There were no injuries but the police were contacted and report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a private mechanic and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 42,651 and the current mileage was 42,680. Updated 04/13/12 . . Updated 04/18/bf the consumer was driving 5 mph. As he turned into a parking space, the vehicle suddenly accelerated unexpectedly and jumped the curb before crashing into a heavy concrete trash bin. The consumer put the vehicle in park, but the wheels continued to rev. By this time, smoke was created by the tires burning. The wheels did not cease revving until the ignition was turned off a few seconds later. The impact moved the concrete bin about 1 1/2 feet forward into the adjacent building. The air bags did not deploy. Updated 06/05/12 the consumer stated the vehicle was towed to a collision center recommended by the insurance company. The repairs were completed in nine days. Collision center did not find any broken cables or wires that could have caused the incident. Updated 06/15/2012.
Airbag warning light sometimes comes on and stays on. If I stop the car and remove the cap from the gasoline tank for a minute, the replace the cap and restart the car, the airbag light goes off. Airbag light may remain off for many days. Airbag light has been intermittent in this fashion for past 10,000 miles. No one seems to know why gas tank pressure should affect airbag warning light sensor system, but it appears to do precisely that. Airbag has never been deployed no vehicle accident has occurred. However the numerous internet complaints about the airbag light coming on in the 2005 Toyota Matrix at about 80,000 miles suggests a design defect on the part of Toyota. Local marin Toyota dealership (in san rafael, calif. ) advises that if there is a collision when the airbag light is on, the airbag will not deploy.
The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Matrix. The contact was driving approximately 55 mph on a mountainous road and unexpectedly fell asleep. The air bags failed to deploy with the impact and the vehicle was towed to a collision center to determine the severity of the damage. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000.
