1 Brake Disc problem of the 2006 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 03/10/2007

After breaking and coming to a complete stop it felt like I have been tapped by the car behind me. This happened quite a few times but not after every stop.

2 Brake Disc problem of the 2001 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 05/28/2004

I own a 2001 Toyota Sequoia and have experienced brake problems since replacing old brakes. When I inquired at my Toyota dealer, I was told there was a TSB for my problem but because the problem has just a TSB related to it and I am my warranty period has expired they would be unable to fix their design problem. I strongly feel that due to the vibrations caused during braking that this is a safety issue and would challenge anyone to drive the vehicle to understand my concern. To date, I have been unable to discuss this with anyone within Toyota's corporate office.

3 Brake Disc problem of the 2003 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 11/25/2003

Our 2003 Toyota Sequoia has the vsc, traction light, emergency brake light, and trac off light are all coming on. The dealer told us that we need a brake job and the problem that I have is that this will be the third set of brakes in 25,000 miles. I have been reading quite a bit on this same problem with other Sequoia owners on the edmunton's website forum and it is concerning to me for the saftey of my family and my self not too mention the brake jobs at every 7,000 miles. The dealer tells me that this is normal for brakes with heavier vehicles but that has not been my experience with SUV's in the past.

4 Brake Disc problem of the 2003 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 09/23/2003

I own a 2003 Toyota Sequoia. At 10,740 miles, the front disc brakes were worn out and required replacement. The brakes should have lasted longer and suggests an undersized design of the braking system. Toyota did perform a "courtesy" replacement of the brakes but I am concerned this is a safety issue needing investigation.

5 Brake Disc problem of the 2002 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 06/20/2003

The front brake rotors have warped for the second time causing excessive front end vibration when braking. The steering wheel oscillates to the extent that braking from highway speeds is unstable. I had to resurface both front rotors at 8500 and 22000 miles to remove run out. This is unacceptable for a $40k vehicle that has only seen normal use and is regularly maintained.

6 Brake Disc problem of the 2002 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 06/25/2002

When driving at 35 to 40 mph or more and brakes are applied a very strong vibration will shake the hole vehicle even at curves. This represents a strong safety hazard. This vibration is not normal, dealer replaced front disk pads and repaired the disks but considering the low millage its hard to belive pads where worn out. I think something is not wright. I made some research in this sites and found other customers with same or similar situation with the Toyota pick up v8 (tundra) -.

7 Brake Disc problem of the 2001 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 12/10/2001

Brake problem presented itself by the vehicle vibrating when braking from high speed. All brakes required servicing and then replacement. Emergency brake required adjusting three times within 20,000 miles. When only one window is open at speeds greater than 30 mph, causes severe pressure vibrations inside the vehicle interior. Pressure vibrations extremely distracting and annoying.
