2016 Toyota Sienna dash head display, radio go out. When this happens headlamps go dim to point where you can barley see and have to stop the vehicle. Took this in to local dealership several times they stated that until it was happening in their presence there was nothing they could do. We were able to video record the issue and showed dealership. They replaced the radio head but issue still occurs. Also have problem with recall on sliding door. Dealer stated that Toyota was still looking for a fix. I have had door open and close on my young children without notice. Have the power turned off to doors now but bought this model for the power doors due to being a disable vet this feature helps me out a lot.

The driver's side flap window detached from the metal frame, I cant get my state inspection to pass with this issue, I have my window taped. It is something a cannot fix, it is unbelievable that this could be happening. The fix is very expensive and I have no way to pay for this. If the window falls off completely can cause an accident. It happened when I was driving to work in the highway I suddenly heard as if my windows were open I looked thorugh my rear view mirror and the window was wide appart due to the wind but because it was still attached to the hinge and the shades were hooked to the glass it did not fall off completely.

When driving on the highway we heard a loud noise. We pulled over to find our sun/moon roof had blown out. We immediately contacted our insurance company and taped over the hole to avoid any glass blowing out onto other drivers and inside the vehicle. When we took it to Toyota dealership they said they checked for other complaints but said they had none. This was the summer of 2014. Even though the dealership claimed there were no issues, we reported the problem to Toyota directly and after a couple of messages and copies of pictures they decided it was not a defect so we were not going to be reimbursed. The expense was a little of $1000 which we were out of pocket on as we had a $1000 deductible. In light of more recent news about this being a problem in many vehicles including Toyota vehicles we wanted to report it as a safety issue. Had we not had the cover closed on the inside, glass would have come in on us. We were just thankful that no one on the highway was hurt with the window blew out. We believe this item should be reviewed for possible recall and reimbursement to owners of vehicles that have sun/moon roofs made by the manufacturer. I am no longer sure I have pictures as they would have been taken on an old phone.

(Toyota, Sienna 2011) passenger automatic sliding door anti-jam sensor failed. Object (macbook) was placed in door pocket compartment. Door switch was pressed and door began opening. Macbook did not completely clear the doors path completely and door began crushing it. I could hear something wasn't right and saw the door bend the laptop and park in the fully open position. You could clearly see and hear the door had met an obstacle and was struggling, but just pressed through it. Door made no attempt to stop or reverse. The macbook was damaged. The whole machine was bent by the door and I can no longer fit a cd in the optical slot because it is now curved rather than flat. These doors are strong enough be bend metal! the "anti-jam" system failed. After seeing that, I really think that these doors have to capability to seriously inure someone.
This is regarding the 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan. It is not a failure, but a design flaw that can be corrected by replacing a component or adding new components. When the audio on dvds is played through the aux in-cabin speaker system, the volume must be set at about 50 to hear it. The sound system does not include a memory recall for the volume of each source. The result is that when the dvd is turned off, the sound system defaults to radio or cd, at a tremendous volume that hurts the eardrums and also presents serious danger because of the distraction to the driver from the sudden booming volume, and its effect on the driver and passengers, including infants. Toyota should recall the van and install new components-- more specifically, memory components to control the volume of the various audio sources being routed to speakers (cd, radio, dvd). Nothing as been done yet by the dealer to correct this, though an inquiry to Toyota hq remains outstanding.
Attention: safety problem / design flaw in order to listen to the stock Toyota dvd player that comes factory installed through the van's cabin speakers, the volume of the stereo must be turned almost all the way up to a volume of over 53. The other audio source (cd, radio, tape) are normally listened to at a volume of about 34. When the dvd player is stopped and another audio source (cd, radio, tape) is played , the volume level in the van instantly becomes deafening and startling. This has happened several times in which the driver has been startled to the point of almost loosing control of the vehicle and temporary hearing damage of several occupants has also resulted. This design flaw has been brought to the attention of the local Toyota dealership on two occasions. They have been in contact with the Toyota factory engineers and they were told that this is "normal" operation and no corrective action by Toyota has been indicated. This is definitely not "normal" as a vehicle collision or hearing damage should never be the direct result of changing the audio source. This is a serious problem t that should result in a expeditious recall that results in the equalization of the volume levels for all audio sources (dvd, cd, radio, tape) in the vehicle.
Multiple problems with my 2000 Toyota Sienna xle, first the car had problems with battery drain and not starting, they replaced the radio amplifier twice before fixing it, the power window on the driver side broke at 35,000 miles. The back hatch sheetmetal is all dented just from closing it and pushing on the handle. The worst one is that the van has been blowing a lot of blue smoke and burning oil, 4 quarts in the last 750 miles. So far no help from the dealer.
