2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2011 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 09/01/2018

takata recall the steering wheel appears to have a bulge at the airbag seams. Both my personal mechanic and the workers at the Toyota dealership have stated this is a defect involving the airbag where the cover has detached from the sensors or a coil. The separation is internal. The vehicle has not been involved in any accidents and was parked(stationary) when the bulge occurred.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 04/28/2017

Takata recall: airbag "warning" light on dashboard is on and has been since before I purchased the truck , according to the seller. Not sure if airbag would even operate (doubtful). Also, the "check engine" light is on, scans keep saying it is an emissions problem. Vacuum canister, wiring, oxygen sensor were replaced and light went off temporarily, then stays on even though truck runs fine. Date given below is date I purchased the truck, ongoing problems.

The airbag sensor won't stop blinking. What if there's an accident and the airbags won't deploy? I believe something with the airbag is defective and may be a potential safety issue.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2009 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 11/08/2013

The air bag sensor came on in my '09 Toyota Tacoma. The vehicle was brought to a mechanic and a diagnostic test was run. The diagnosis was a faulty air bag spiral cable. This identical issue forced a recall of 481,000 Tacomas, including '09 vehicles. However, I was told that my truck did not fall within the VIN # database that is covered by the recall. This is resulting in an out of pocket repair costing $500. I find it hardly coincidental the exact same design flaw that affected nearly 500,000 vehicles just popped up in my vehicle. Without spending the $500, my barely 4 year old truck will not pass inspection in the state of MA. I bought a Tacoma based on it's reputation for reliability. Currently I am breaking the bank just to make it legal to drive on the road.

11 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2000 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 02/10/2005

The air bag light would come on only when the vehicle was cold. After I warmed the truck up & stut it off, upon restart every thing was normal. Had diagnostics done at westboro Toyota& found faulty air bag sensor. Charged me 85. 00$. Dealer wanted 425. 00$ to fixsensor & I refused. I called Toyota & they refercened me back to westboro Toyota. I talked to rick tonnilli at the dealer. He was very understanding & told me he was going to talk to the district manager. I was called back in a few days with Toyota picking up the cost of the part & I picking up one hour of labor@ 85. 00$. I agreed to this just to the problem fixed. Westboro Toyota has been very excellent & cooperative & I have no complants from them. My qustion is that with the light on the air bags may not deploy in an accident. This would to be a major safety problem?.
