The passenger seatbelt light keeps blinking when seat belt is buckled and it says passenger airbag is off while there is someone in there and buckled up. This happens when parked or driving, we have unhooked the battery to try to reset it. No luck. I am afraid if we were to get in an accident the passenger airbag would not deploy.

Takata recall. I rear ended a vehicle doing 30+ mph which in turn that vehicle hit another and that vehicle hit another. I was concerned that my airbags did not deploy and I wound up hitting my chin on the steering wheel and left elbow hit the windshield. Toyota corporate was notified and an inspector was sent out to my local Toyota dealer on 3/12/18 but will not tell me anything until Toyota corporate contacts me in 30-45 days. All I would want is the replacement parts and would fix it myself but I'm sure I'm in for a big "let down!".

Takata recall -- I was involved in a front end auto collision yesterday, I was going on speeds in excess of 45mph when I struck a car that had cut me off, my car became completely inoperable. The airbags had not deployed which makes me feel there is a safety issue involved with the vehicle. The vehicle I had struck was going roughly 10mph. The framing of my car is completely bend and most of the force was excreted towards the engine on the passenger side of the my 2015 Tacoma.

My horn stopped working and when I took my truck to the dealer he said that it was the clock spring cable inside of the steering wheel. The service agent daniel arviza at north bakersfield Toyota in bakersfield California advised me that if I didn't get it fixed that the airbag could fail to deploy in the case of an accident. This seems like a important part of the truck to fail after only 3 years. I bought the truck new from the dealership and the warranty has expired. It's going to cost almost 500 dollars, but because it is a safety issue I have no choice but to have the part replaced.

"takata recall" possible: driving northbound in the left lane on a clear day, no cars in front of me or next to me. I was driving on a city street in hollywood California. Visibility was clear around 4:00 p. M in the afternoon. I noticed a car making a left turn in front of me. I had no time to break, could not believe this driver had initiated a left turn. I immediately veered into the right lane to avoid hitting the car that had made a left turn in front of me. The driver hit me instead on the front left corner of my Toyota Tacoma truck, sending me head on into two parked cars. I suffered a concussion and a broken right hand. I noticed after the accident that neither the driver side air bag nor the passenger side air bag did not deploy. Los angeles police department concluded that I was not at fault. Driver initiated a 21801(a) vc-unsafe left turn in front of me. I still suffer from the accident and my hand is not the same.

Waiting at stop light, when light turned green proceeded into intersection. At that time a minivan struck the driver side door (90 degrees) of my 2014 Toyota Tacoma. . . . Updated 05/11/15 the minivan was traveling 40 miles per hour and did not apply brakes (no skidding) when it hit the driver side door. The airbags on the minivan deployed. The curtain and side airbags did not deploy on my 2014 Toyota truck and the accident was a direct impact to the two sensors that deploy the airbags on the driver side. The safety section of the Toyota owners manual states 3300 lb. Vehicle traveling 12-18 miles per hour will deploy the curtain and side airbags. I have filed a claim with Toyota on March 9, 2015 regarding the safety concern. Toyota representative has retrieved black box data from the truck and sent me a courtesy copy of the data on March 19, 2015. I have not received any analysis feedback from Toyota indicating the truck is safe to drive. I can furnish accident report, witness to accident and repair estimate.
Driving my Toyota Tacoma, I was approaching a steep decline. I tapped on the brakes and continued driving at approximately 27 mph when I down shifted to accommodate for the snowy road. As I was down shifting the truck lost control and slid sideways causing the front passenger side to hit a snow bank. Once the truck struck the snow bank it flopped over on its driver side. The side air bags on both sides came out but did not inflate. The driver side bags were torn. I found evidence of this with shredded pieces of the air bag found in the vehicle. Additionally the driver side front air bags never deployed.

The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.
Tl-the contact owns a 2001 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle struck a deer and the air bags did not deploy. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The failure had occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000. Ddr.
I was slowly turning into my driveway when there was a sudden acceleration of the gas pedal. My truck shot like a bullet (about 40-45 feet) into the corner of my house and deck. The force of the impact sheared a 6x6 deck corner post, knocked the garage small entry door completely loose from it's frame, and did extensive damage to a solid brick wall, as well as damage to the inside of garage. Luckily, I did still have my seat belt fastened; however, the air bag did not deploy. I filed a claim with Toyota, they sent an inspector, and now have denied that there was any malfunction. I am 100% sure that the acceleration was not "driver's error" and that there is a safety issue here and Toyota should be held accountable. The body damage to my truck has been repaired, but I will be getting rid of it. The conversations I have had with the people at Toyota's headquarters in torrance, California have certainly been most unpleasant and have left me with a very bad opinion of Toyota as a company. I will never have another of their vehicles! I just hope the next person is as lucky as I was and does not get killed or badly injured when his Toyota Tacoma accelerates for no reason!.
