Tried to make an appointment with ray brandt Toyota in kenner louisiana. Made the appointment online, but could not get someone to call me back telling me if the airbag part was in I tried calling countless times I tried going through their website. Chat nothing. I’m going to have to drive over an hour away to another Toyota dealership, due to this once lack of concern towards their customers. I don’t even feel safe driving my vehicle due to metal being in the airbags.

Horn stopped working right after I bought this truck from a dealer. I did some research on why it stopped. I was told and also read that it was the air bag clock spring. This controls the air bags and horn and other components. What it is the clock spring was installed by Toyota that had a bad spot on it. This causes the wiring harness to start rubbing and cutting into the wires. Would cause the horn to stop working and the air bags not to work and other things that is wired to this harness also. This should be a safety concern, and Toyota needs to recall to fix. Read that the 2011 Toyota's was bad for doing this. Costing the customer about $800. 00 to fix. I have the truck about 3 months. Might be the reason it was traded in. Works some times and doesn't work. I am worried the air bags will deploy if not fixed. Please check into this. I would like to know what you find out before I spend the money to get it fixed on social security and don't have that much money in hand to have fixed.

I have been trying to get my airbag changed from recall. Toyota will not do the repair. They refuse to pick up my truck. My reference number at Toyota is 220901001583. This is the number Toyota corp. Gave to me. Twice corp. Set up the repair both times dealers refused to come get it. Now corp. Says I have to bring it in to get the repair. For two years they have been sending me recall notices saying they will come and get the vehicle. Now they refuse to do that. I will not take it to Toyota. They have wasted enough of my time already. Thanks russ.

Srs airbag system malfunction error stated visit your dealer after turning the truck off warning was gone.
I have been noticing since the beginning to middle of March 2022 the truck has been stalling while driving. It has happened 4 times since that time. Twice while in traffic and twice while driving on the highway. You have to come to a complete stop, put the vehicle in park and start the vehicle again. One time it happened we were almost rear ended by a semi truck driving behind us. Along with that, the air bag malfunction light has been coming on and off every few days. The fuel gauge has been showing all different fuel amounts as well every day. The truck has been a Toyota dealer for the past week and been communicating with Toyota engineers and I have been told by the service advisor Toyota is aware of these problems but do not have a fix. My family is terrified to drive the truck any longer and is a very dangerous and serious problem. I am not the only one who is experiencing this based on my own research. I did tell my dealer to document this on my record in detail as if anything happens to my family because of an engineering error I will take this to the highest level ever seen.

A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was currently being repaired at a body shop for cosmetic repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 215,000.

Discovered that Toyota Tundra and other models possible use of defective product of airbag srs system, basis of preceding years and following years of producing models and other plants supply house. I am seeking replacement parts for airbags components and sensors and clockspring and repairs. Only had two warrant issues up to this date. Trailer towing package and high altitude air flow/ throttle position sensor. Resolve by manufacturer and dealership. Current affairs of airbag recall list and the accident reports of12/10/2009-2010 show no airbag deployment and were a serious relationship with the owners and the people affected. Research shows takata reviews for further information and details of the products and services for repairs. I have a 2000-2001 Tundra and are looking at the possibility of "dummy airbags components" been installed and not working. Further, timing going out on double coil type ignition (original). Jumpers to the next firing order coil. I have had to interim operation a single coil, primary, with jumper wire. Thank you very much. Smith, nc.

Hit a power pole going 55mp,broke the pole in half. Airbags did not deploy, seat belt did not engage. I hit my face on the glass and the steering wheel, nearly broke my face. My dog was in the back thankfully. My hips took the brunt of the impact, they still hurt. A idaho state trooper investigated with video showing our totaled truck around a broken pole, no air bag or seat belt employed,my smashed face covered in blood. Did a little research and found that our 2000 Tundra isnt in a recall???what does it take to set off a Tundra airbag?? also found out that I should be thankful it didnt go off or I may have been injured by a discharge of schrapnel??found several victims of that. My wife takes a blood thinner and often goes with me to town, but now shes not going to be able to safely ride in her own vehicle anymore?? this reminds me of how cps drops the ball and just lets kids die before they ever do anything. I will be doing alot more with my pen as my sword my video as my witness,I loved my Tundra but this is more way more dangerous than my 1990 truck with basic mechanics. If you have a Tundra or other vehicle that is dangerous ,speak out about it,get an attorney, save someones life. These are dangerous airbags,no doubt in my mind. Ps our truck is 100% unmodified other than tire changes. Now a death trap, until this is resolved.
The contact owns a 2006toyota Tundra. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle which resulted in the vehicle flipping 3 times and none of the airbags deployed. The contact sustained a bruised lung, bruised arms, and bruised ribs, and sought medical treatment. The contact does not know if a police report was taken. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard then was towed again to an insurance lot. The manufacturer was not informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.
The Toyota Tundra 2002 truck did not deploy driver's side and passenger's side airbags in a collision consisting of frontal and left-sided collision with immobile objects, with frontal/top profound impact from standing tree. The car was up to date on its inspections and maintenance. The breaks, though appropriately checked and tested, would take longer than normal to break the vehicle. The seatbelt, if pulled hard enough, would easily dislodge from buckle, coming undone. The driver of this vehicle collided as described above and due to the failure(s) of the safety mechanisms in place, resulted in the death of the driver. The driver was restrained with seatbelt, however dislodged from buckle upon impact and no airbags deployed. The issue(s) have been confirmed by the police report, the county police documented. The vehicle has been inspected by police officers, and possibly others, including the employees of the towing company. There was no indication thats the airbag deployment was either "off" if possible, and or indications of airbag defect. No messages or lights were indicated for the failure of the deployment of the airbags. No messages or lights were indicated for the defect and or failure of the seatbelt not remaining intact with force. The person in reference passed away on impact at scene. The failures of the safety mechanisms put into place for this vehicle are absolutely unacceptable and beyond subpar.

Horn siren is not being activated when pressed by center switch on steering wheel. After researching many Tundra message boards, this appears to be a frequent problem amongst Tundra owners. Incident: vehicle in front of me at drivethru backed into me when they thought they were in drive after repositioning themselves for mic. I was not able to beep my horn and warn them. Luckily no damage occurred.
I've owned this vehicle for 18 yrs. During that time air bags have been replaced on models above and below my year model. Every two or three years, I inquired at dealerships when this series will be replaced. Always with the same answer, not required because not enough accident reports to warrant replacement. During that time I've only had one small finder bender not affecting the air bags to deploy. Curious why this year and model was never required to replace air bags?.
The contact owned a 2013 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, another vehicle had ran a red light and crashed into the front grill assembly of the contact's vehicle then the other vehicle spun and crashed into the driver side of the contact's vehicle. The contact's front driver seat moved inadvertently towards the steering wheel but the seat belt did not prevent the contact's neck, chest and stomach from slamming into the steering wheel. The contact heard a loud bang and the air bags deployed, filling the inside of vehicle with a powder substance. The contact and passenger were transported to the hospital by ambulance with injuries sustained. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a towing yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened but the manufacturer informed the contact that there was no recall for the air bags associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was 72,120.

I have tried for months to get this airbag replaced with no luck. I keep getting these recall notices with instructions I try to follow and here's the results so far: after texting "fix" to 877-427-0285 several times, nothing happened. Months later, I get some bizarre text from a number I don't recognize asking for my address saying I need to respond within 10 minutes. After asking who it was, another number texts me asking for the same info with no explanation as to who they are and they refused to say. I've called Toyota of tumwater a few times and, at first, they couldn't schedule me for an appointment until some two months out. In the most recent call they needed my home address and phone number, which I'm not inclined to give but did in hopes of getting this resolved, but then they needed my full VIN. If that's the case, why isn't it on the [xxx] recall notice? you listed the last 8 digits so clearly you have it. I texted "fix" to the number listed again this morning and finally get a response from "cindy" who asks for either the full VIN or the recall id. I share the recall id and told I need to send the full VIN. After a lot of back and forth, I'm told there's no recall option and I need to drive to another town. What do you mean there's no recall option? why are these instructions included in these mailings? do you people think we memorize VIN numbers? you say this repair is "urgent" "serious injury" "death" then why are there so many difficult steps involved in getting this [xxx] thing replaced? three easy steps to schedule is an outright lie. I've never had this much trouble with a recall. I've never had to provide a VIN just to get a [xxx] appointment. I need help getting this resolved. Jan. 2, 2021 dealer (advantage Toyota of valley stream) refused to complete NHTSA recall no. 19v-741. Dealer stated that they do not do recall service on weekends. Toyota corporate's recall letter states that a loaner vehicle would be provided. Advantage Toyota states that they do not have loaner vehicles, regardless of what day or time I would be willing to schedule the service appointment. Dealer did not offer any alternative transportation options (ride home, paid taxi, etc. ) contacted corporate, advised that the dealers are privately owned and Toyota inc is neither affiliated nor liable for dealership actions. Toyota recommended that I pay out of pocket for the expenses for a rental car and request reimbursement at a later date. I thought it would be of interest to the NHTSA this example of Toyota's lack of interest to remedy a mandated safety recall. Toyota sends multiple letters indicated a serious safety issue with a vehicle they manufactured. Then, dealerships make it difficult (if not impossible) to have the recall service completed. Toyota then excuses itself from liability by stating dealerships are privately owned. Convenient. Feel free to contact me should you have any additional questions pertaining to this matter.
Head to head collision. Both vehicles on u. S. Highway rt. 40. In break position, my vehicle was not in motion at the time of impact. Other vehicle was in motion approaching from opposite direction traveling approximately 40 mph. Both vehicles were left inoperable.
Manufacturer and dealership is not responsive in trying to remedy the air bag issue. I'm receiving multiple reminders to get my vehicle fixed for the takata air bag recalls. I have 2 outstanding issues. I called autonation Toyota in hayward, CA. They said they'd call me back as they had to order the parts. Almost 2 months later, I called to follow-up as they never called me back. They then told me that it shows in their records that they serviced my vehicle and remedied the issue. If you look at the online records, it shows that the 2 recalls are still unremedied. Also, I would know if I brought my vehicle in for the repair. I talked to a person named julian at the dealership.
