I was driving approx 5-15 mph on a smooth, paved, slightly uphill road when my drivers side airbags deployed. There was no accident or bumps in the road. The front and back seat drivers side airbag deployed as well as the drivers seat airbag. The seat belt retractor also locked up. There is no damage to the vehicle on the outside what so ever. It has 57,xxx miles. I purchased it new and all service has been performed at the purchasing dealership. This is the first issue in what has been an extraordinary vehicle up to this point.

We received a notification regarding a safety recall for our Toyota Tundra 2006. It says that Toyota doesn't currently have the parts to repair the passenger side airbag which may be under pressure and could deploy at anytime. We were advised not to utilize the passenger side of our vehicle until we are contacted for a repair. This advise has not been possible since we have another car in the shop and we have needed to commute together. We do not feel that we should have to rent a car. It's unreasonable that Toyota would expect their loyal customers to "wait" for a repair that is their responsibility and in the meantime not use their vehicle. It has been over three weeks since we received the recall notification and we have not heard from Toyota that our repair can be scheduled. We believe that Toyota has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time and we want this recall to be remedied immediately for the safety of our family. Thank you.
I just received a notice from Toyota that stated they were just now confirming that the passenger side air bags on my Tundra need to be replaced due to possible defects. Unfortunately that truck is now in my daughters possession in middle tennessee where she's attending college. Toyota knew about the possibility of these defective air bags over a year ago and now they're just beginning to send out notices? to make matters worse is when I called their hotline I was told that they don't have the parts in yet to fix the issue! that a second notice will come out to advise us when it can be taking to a dealership to get fixed. I'm gravely concerned because as you may already know tennessee is a very humid state in the summer and the letter states that humidity may be a factor. How can this fix be expedited? I tried to keep up with all the recalls and the truck is in excellent condition, I just think that Toyota is trying to cover their rear ends by sending this letter out without any tentative date for a resolution. Please help us consumers. . .

I received recall notice for defective pass side airbag approx. 4to5 months ago. Saying not to allow anyone to ride in front pass side of vehicle. I have called dealer twice and was told they do not have parts to repair yet. I feel like im getting the run around. This is very inconvenient for us not to have use of one front seat.
Not long after the last takata recall,NHTSA campaign 15v286000, the passenger side airbag cover became sticky and discolored - my local Toyota dealer who performed the recall and the Toyota corporation said it is not a Toyota issue. An internet search reveals owners of a variety of auto manufacturers have the same complaint. It is my understanding that any defects related to airbag components could pose a potential safety hazard. Please advise if this constitutes a " safety problem " and any known remedy. Thank you jeff irick jeffirick@gmail. Com.

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number 14v350000 (air bag) was received in October 2014. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the front passenger side air bag was deactivated. On October 17, 2014 while driving on okla hyw 33 at or about 55 miles per hour, the driver side and the passenger side air bags deployed. The deployment set off the horn and immediately the cabin filled with a fog like residue which in itself can be very startling. The air bag slapped both forearms but luckily I was back far enough it did not reach my face and there was no passenger present. The only physical damage was temporary redness of the forearms and a chronic cough developed later the next day requiring a doctor visit on the 20th of oct. The vehicle has been in the jim norton Toyota dealership in okla. City since the 18th of oct. With no determination from gst or tms legal to date.
The contact owns a 2003 Toyota Tundra. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v350000 (air bags) and 05v254000 (air bags). The dealer stated that the parts would not be available for months and offered to provide an interim repair by disconnecting the front passenger side air bag until the part was available. The contact stated that the delay was unreasonable and wanted a permanent repair for the air bag failure. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the vehicle had been stationary for three months. A passenger attempted to start the vehicle but it would not start. The passenger¿s side air bag then inadvertently deployed without warning. The passenger sustained facial lacerations, severe bruising and a loss of hearing as a result of the erroneous air bag deployment, and was transported to the emergency room for treatment. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 13v133000 (air bags) but had not confirmed if the vehicle was included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the passenger's side air bag cover became sticky. The contact stated that the air bags caused a chemical reaction to make the dashboard covering sticky. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they were able to clean the surface of the air bag cover. The contact stated that the chemical used to clean the air bag cover caused the plastic covering to become thin and the contact was concerned about a defect in air bag deployment. The failure mileage was 79,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Tundra. The contact was braking from 30 mph when the brakes failed to engage. The contact proceeded to crash into the rear of another vehicle. The driver side air bag deployed yet the contact sustained injuries to the shoulder, back and right leg. The vehicle was towed to a garage. The contact's insurance company investigated the failure and determined it was caused by the floor mat becoming lodged between the brake pedal. The failure and current mileage was 3,500.

I started the vehicle, proceeded forward in a strait line, reached +/- 15 mph and the side curtain airbags deployed. I did not hit anything, was not hit and did not roll the vehicle. The ground was very smooth/flat. I received neck injuries and have had headaches ever since. My passenger received whip lash and has lost most of his hearing in his right ear permanently. It took 43 days for a response from Toyota (corporate). There position is that there airbag deployment system can not fail. There are 2 additional witnesses beside the driver/passenger who were standing just outside the vehicle when it happened. Toyota has not talked to any witnesses nor asked any questions. They have simply maintained that their system can't fail and are refusing to fix the vehicle. I will have to pay for the seatbelts to be replaced out of my pocket but can't afford to replace the airbags or headliner (approximately an additional $6,000).
When truck rear ended a Toyota 4 runner it hit a curb and broadsided a Ford pickup. Upon impact, there was no deployment of driver's side or passenger's side air bags. It's more than likely that the truck will be totalled. Please provide any further information.
