Warning Light On Problems of Toyota Tundra

While driving my 2018 Tundra sr5 a warning light came on saying " sr5 airbag system malfunction. I know it was a recall on this issue back in 2018 but my vehicle was not on that recall.

Air bag light showed air bag was turned off, took vehicle to merced CA Toyota dealership to determine problem, was advised that computer needed to be reprogramed. It cost 130. 00. Dealer could not explane why vehicle needed programing or when it could need it again. Very concerned!!!!! vehicle parked at my home, in a. M. When I went to start vehicle warning light came on, no reason that I know of.

Takata recall although currently Toyota claims my truck is not included in the recall I have the same air bag warning light that those who are part of the recall have. I searched my make model and year on line and founds hundreds of others who are having airbag issues but we're excluded from the recall.

Takata recall; received air bag recall 2014, took to david maus Toyota sanford, florida and had passenger air bag corrected with my receipt. 2016 June, air bag warning light was on, (noticed while driving) took again to david maus Toyota, they found error code and checked all diagnostics, found nothing wrong. The simply diagnosis couldn't determine the cause and then was advised to pay for a thoroughly diagnosis, which I payed $128. 00. Today July 2nd while driving truck, found air bag light on again (while driving) !! I spoke to david maus Toyota service manager July 2nd. He said I can bring it in again and my $128. 00 dollars would go to any needed repairs. I'm taking my 2004 Tundra truck in, either July 5, 6, or 7th. The vehicle will stay inside my garbage until time to take to david maus Toyota. Allen niren.

Takata recall my Tundra is a 2002 so not currently included in the recall. The airbag warning light came on over a year ago and the mechanic says it is non-functioning, I hear this is a common 2002 problem. They should also be included in the recall.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the spiral cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. Air bag warning light came on in less than 36 months after warranty expired due to mileage. Cost to repair exceeded $1,200. Shouldn't these government mandated safety features be covered by a longer warranty?.
