Front Air Bag Problems of Toyota Tundra

The brake light and the traction control lights went on one morn. Later that evening the accelerator did not disengage. I applied my brakes, and could not stop my 2010 Toyota Tundra! when I eventually lost control to avoid a collision with other cars on the road. I crashed my truck into a tree and off road into a ditch a 100 yards from the road.

December 2008, while driving a rented Toyota 4x4 Tundra the front airbags 1/2 deployed without cause, no accident, no collision, just a bumpy paved county road - fm1431 georgetown/round rock TX area. . . And the longhorn car & truck rental company has offered nothing in explanation as to why. They absconded quickly with vehicle and wouldn't let my adjuster look at it. Reported on TX blue form for accidents and the rental company immediately.

I have a friend who had a 2006 Toyota Tundra that was involved in a serious accident. The trucked rolled over from front to back and coming to a rest on all 4 wheels. The side impact air bags deployed but the fronts did not. The vehicles dashboard was blow apart upon impact and the front end is completely smashed in.

I was involved in a crash in my 2001 Toyota Tundra. During the crash I ended up going through a power pole severing it. I struck the pole in the center of the front end. The damage was substantial totaling the vehicle. My concern is neither airbag deployed. Is this a problem with Toyota trucks? even highway patrol and the fire dept. Said the air bags should have gone off.

While attempting to maneuver pass a tow truck which was partially blocking the drivers lane of travel, the brakes locked up and the vehicle began to skid forward toward the front portion of the tow truck, the front and center portion of the truck collided with the left front section of the tow truck's bumper, during this accident neither frontal air bag deployed, the driver sustained injuries to his torso and whiplash, the passenger suffered sever abdominal bruising from the seat belt. Nlm.

Consumers vehicle was stolen & in an accident. The vehicle hit a concrete bridge & the airbags didn't deploy. The consumer says the manufacture doesn't seem to be concern about the safety of the vehicle.
