Our Tundra had a frame recall and it was the dealers decision on whether or not to replace dram or just cover up with undercoating. We disagreed with the decision to undercoat as the deal was showing signs of extensive rust. Now, our frame is extremely dangerous to the point of falling away from the body. Just about all parts under the truck have now suffered as well. We have never had the truck launch a boat, gone off road, or any other dangerous activities. Basically a train station and dump run vehicle. I am terribly disappointed with Toyota and their poor handling of the situation. Basically they told me that I would be responsible for the super expensive frame replacement; too bad. Engine, body, and interior are in great shape. I need help as I 1) cannot afford to pay for their mistake and 2) can't afford to replace this truck and it is vital for us. Just found out today that the frame is disintegrating quickly when we brought car to shop for a steering issue which we now find out was caused by excessive rust. Thank you.

Air bag recall. Alan jay Toyota removed original air bag because of recall then replace air gab with a used salvage air bag. After I complained to manager, they tried to clean up air bag cover so it would match dash. They couldn't get clean or remove the sticky tacky substance on cover. They said it was a new air bag and that was the way they come or must of gotten dirty installing. I said I don't believe that explanation so they said they would order a new air bag. On a follow up call to get new air bag replacement they say now they want to clean it up again and paint to match dash color. The photos are after they cleaned air bag cover and said it was brand new. I don't feel this is the way the air bag recall was intended so therefore I am complaining.
I'm unable to get a urgent safety recalled airbag replaced on my Toyota truck. Dealership claims they are only 'allotted' so many airbags. . . .
The contact owned a 2004 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated her husband was driving at an unknown speed, when he unexpectedly collided with an embankment and the air bags deployed. The contact husband was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a lot for further investigation. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The contact referenced the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 15v286000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 180,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver’s side air bag was inadvertently deployed without warning. There was no impact to the vehicle that could have caused the driver’s side air bag to deploy. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the manufacturer sent a field technician to inspect the vehicle. The contact was not made aware of the diagnosis. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that hot weather conditions caused the air bag to deploy. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
Horn does not work when a road hazard was presented attempted to utilize horn nothing happened when I took to Toyota they said it is the wiring harness from the airbag around the steering column and is not covered under warranty and is not a recall but when I look up online many people for years have had issues with this problem was sent away driving my vehicle which I believe to be unsafe as if I don't have airbags or a horn not sure that my vehicle is legal to be driven at this point I feel that since these are safety issues they should be recalls as it has happened to many people I have only owned my truck since December I picked it up at the very end of December 2019.

The frame haas already been repaired, at the suggestion of my inspection mechanic. The whole frame is dangerously rusted. Now he says, “get rid of it—it’s dangerous to drive!” another problem, the air bag fault light won’t stay off! parts in the steering column have been replaced, to no avail! Toyota did that work. No one knows if my air bag will work or not!.

I called the local Toyota dealer. Toyota of gastonia. 1. 704. 824. 7777 and the manager. . Kimberty goodly asked why the owner could not bring the car in to the dealership and leave it. And I told them the owner henry watford. Has copd and is on oxygen. And could not wait 3-4 hours. . And she said well if he can not drive couple hours. Why is he even going to fix the air bag?/.
In mid December, 2019, I was driving on the interstate and the spare tire dropped from under my 2003 Toyota Tundra. Fortunately, no vehicles were behind me at the time. I was so surprised to see that tire bouncing down the road behind me! that spare tire had never been taken from the carrier. I made an appointment with a Toyota dealer for inspection/recall in early February. They said the corrosion on the cross-member needed to be replaced but the spare tire carrier corrosion issue causing the tire to drop was only for recalls on the tacoma models, I was responsible for the issue. I feel this is a Toyota manufacturing safety issue that needs to be addressed. Do I have any recourse?.
I brought my truck to miller Toyota dealer at 1331 n. Euclid st, anaheim, CA 92801 on Nov-26, 2019. And they stated that part was not available, and they would contact me when they have the part, would take couple days. Since, I several times, texted, emails and left voice mails for when they have part, but I have not heard back from them since.
We received a recall letter some time in November for our Toyota Tundra. I reached out to steven Toyota in harrisonburg virginia shortly after receiving the letter. I was told they needed to order the part and would call back when received. I never received a call from steven Toyota, and have been attempted to get this resolved with multiple calls to the dealership since early January. The calls to the service department either go to voice mail or are hung up on after multiple rings. I finally got a hold of a service person on January 30th, who said they would call back in ten minutes when they found out information. I never received a call. I attempted to call back today, and the call went to voice mail. I do have a record of attempted phone log on my phone. I called stevens back and told the receptionist I would be filing a complaint, and she responded " I'm sorry for your inconvenience. ".
Airbag came on. I immediately take it to dealer. They charged me for the diagnostic. They also said the contact spiral need replacing.

In response to the recent recall, I scheduled an appointment at round rock Toyota. I was told they would not complete the repair because "the new ones have been recalled also" and to wait until next year. They refused to remedy.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tundra. The contact had notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v741000 (air bags) however, the contact was unable to take the vehicle to a local dealer for the recall repair. The contact made a local dealer aware of the issue and was informed that they were unable to provide a field technician or towing assistance and the contact was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Takata recall while truck was at dealership having an electrical problem troubleshot was informed by dealership about air bag recall and that recall would be done at same time. Passenger air was replaced at this time. After truck sat a dealership for extended period eventually got truck back. Everything appeared normal. After several months to a year started noticing an odd appearance on the passenger air bag cover. This area began having a sticky feeling to it. Placed a paper napkin on the air bag cover and had part of the napkin stick to the cover. During one of the recent heat spells with the interior of the truck reaching a high temperature discovered that the air bag cover has been spray painted to match interior color of truck. This makes that area of the dash look disgusting plus you can no longer lay an object there without it getting stuck to the dash. Am able to push paint and see that original color of air bag cover is black.
Air bag clock spring bad horn does not work but when you steering the car left or right horn works normal.

Ever since I got it 2 years ago the steering has not been right with random vibration from the steering wheel to feeling like im trying harder to make it go straight. And also a clunk at low speed turns/ vibration on freeway. I was told the rack was going so I replaced it with new poly bushings and tie rods. Helped a little but no, got new rims and tires and no difference still vibration on freeway. It's weird if I pull down on the steering wheel it makes it less worse. Also it feels like all this is wearing my power steering pump as it's the only thing covered in oil under my hood. I'm. Seriousy scared to drive it on the freeway cause of the over correcting and vibration. I only have 82k on it. When I got it from the dealership nothing was said. I'm the second owner. I still have the original rack but the problem is still there. Service was done by independent shop. Airbag stickers on passenger visor are gone and passenger airbag cover sticks out more the it should I think. I received the car facts from the dealership and nothing is in there for all the recalls. As the website says there are none pending. I would like to get a print out of all recall repairs if possible. I still have the car fax from them.
Air bags didn't deploy in a serious head on collision.

Takata recall. 2000 model year appears not included in the recall, yet the breadth of the instances of failure to inflate properly appears extensive for vehicles involved in an accident.

Takata recall, I was involved in a collision with my Toyota Tundra when a Nissan altima failed to stop for a stop sign. At witch point my air bags did not go off. The truck is totaled and so was the Nissan! I was driving east on quincy Ave. And the Nissan was driving south on b st. When she failed to stop at the stop sign.
Recalls have been issued for faulty spiral cables effecting airbag malfunction on model year 2009-2010 corolla, 2009-2010 matrix, 2008-2010 highlander, 2009-2010 tacoma, 2006-2008 rav4 and 2006-2010 yaris vehicles. My 2009 Tundra crewmax that I just bought has this problem and has had it for two years according to the previous owner. Why is the Tundra left out of these recalls when obviously it is a problem with all Toyota autos in this time period.

Tl the contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v065000 (air bags), but the contact did not receive a recall notification. The contact heard a loud noise coming from the vehicle. Suddenly, the front driver and passenger side curtain air bags deployed with force. The contact sustained a head injury that required medical attention. An incident report was filed, but not a police report. The dealer (priority Toyota hampton, 2301 w Mercury blvd, hampton, va 23666, (757) 838-5000) inspected the vehicle per the manufacturer's instruction to investigate the air bag deployment. The manufacturer investigated the edr box, but found no failure. The manufacturer sent a letter indicating that the vehicle owner was at fault. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact felt that the investigation failed to provide a conclusion that the recall remedy would have provided a permanent remedy. The failure mileage was not available.
Toyota informed me through mail to my address that my new 2018 Toyota Tundra "fail to conform to federal motor vehicle safety standards (fmvss) no. 208," "occupant crash protection," and 214, "side impact protection. " when I called the customer service number provided 1-888-270-9371 to ask if they would be willing to cover the cost of taking the vehicle to an alternate repair facility located on my island, they refused, not only did they refuse but they claimed that only a Toyota authorized dealer could perform the repair. When I asked how I was suppose to deal with the safety recall without an option to bring my vehicle to an authorized dealer, I was told that I would just have to figure that out on my own, when I asked for the response in writing they also claimed that Toyota would not provided that.

Air bags (manufacture unknown) on sept 29, 2018 while driving on a two lane highway at 50 mph, my steering wheel and knee bags inflated for no reason. I applied the brakes and lost sight of the road for several seconds because of the fog on the windshield. When the fog cleared, I could see that I was going to end up in a field and that I had crossed the center line. I tried to back out of the field but could not because of the muddy conditions. I called my wife, told her the air bags had inflated for no reason. I asked her to call aaa for a tow truck. While speaking to her, a man walked up to ask if I was okay. I said yes. He then asked if I realized I had hit an oncoming vehicle. I was not. I had not seen any other vehicle because of the "fog" from the air bag. I asked him what vehicle and he pointed to a man in a red shirt standing in front of a white pickup with duel rear wheels. I told my wife I needed to go see if anyone was injured, got out of my truck and walked back to the other truck. No one was injured in the accident. I was told by my insurance adjuster that there was approximately $7,000 damage to the other truck. My vehicle was totaled.
2006 Toyota Tundra. Consumer writes in regards to airbag safety recall. The consumer stated that the drive to the dealership was too far to travel. The consumer requested to have the parts sent to another location.
Randomly the air bag light comes on saying that their is an malfunction in one of the air bags. The dashboard light comes on more frequently when the weather is hot out side. Can’t remember the date when it started but it’s been happening a lot and Toyota said their are no recalls or issues with that are known and I would need to pay which is costly.

Takata recall.
On 01-08-2018 I had a mva in which the front of my truck struck another vehicle and my air bag was deployed. As you may judge from the picture the impact was minimal. The other vehicle, a 2003 Honda civic, was drivable, while my much bigger truck was not due to my condition and the deployed air bag. I was knock out approximately 5 to 7 minutes, I made this estimate by the arrival of winter park pd. I also suffered two fractured ribs on my right arm pit area and one on my left arm pit area, this was according to the er doctor and a fracture of my l5 vertebrae according to my mri report. Four herniated disc and six bulging. It is my sincere believe that some if not all this personal injuries I suffered were related to an over pressured air bag system. Although there are no recalls on my truck, I feel a need to register my complaint. As noted on my pd report I had just initiated a u-turn so I could not have been traveling more than 15 mph on lee rd. (a paved city street).
