1 Front Suspension Leaf Spring U-bolt problem of the 2000 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 10/01/2016

The contact owns a 2000 Toyota Tundra. After the vehicle struck a pothole, it made an abnormal noise and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the O2 sensor was defective. Upon further inspection, stated that the u-bolt deteriorated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle experienced severe corrosion and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 124,604.

2 Front Suspension Leaf Spring U-bolt problem of the 2001 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 07/23/2009

Vehicle was shaking, felt from rear of vehicle. Made loud popping sound from rearend of vehicle when articulating a turn on a hill, or road bump. It was found that the rearend u-bolts that attach the rearend to the leaf springs were extremely loose. The rear drive axle was literally falling out from under the vehicle. This vehicle has had no work done pertaining to the u bolts, they should not have came loose.
