1. 1800 miles-transmission fluid leak, the service people told me it was a known problem with 2019 Jettas, repair took 2 months 2. Heater doesn't blow out warm air when traveling under 40 mph, even after 18 miles of driving 3. Grinding/croaking noise like a frog at 28-30 mph and again at 40 mph 4. Brakes squeak 5. Trunk falls on my head unless I push it all the way up per owners manual addendum.
Inside the car windshield and windows freezes and forms ice everyday morning. Air leak in the door might be possible.
First, trunk of the car. It's unsafe and doesn't lock unless u overextend it open. I have been hit in my head twice before I learned my lesson. Second, transmission. It makes a grinding noise when operated at slower speeds. I am reaching 9,500 miles and noise is still there since day one. Three, the engine. I believe there is a internal defect because today I was driving a the engine oil light came on. Once I checked the oil I saw that the dipstick was clean, no oil, nada. Where has all the oil gone on a new 2019 Jetta? it sure hasn't been leaking on the ground of my garage because there is no fluids.
While in car was driving for approximately 10 min at least and noticed car was smoking. Pulled into my driveway and popped the hood to check why it was smoking and noticed vehicle was under fire. Car was parked prior for about 2 hours.

Takata recall, the doors opening mechanism in cold weather won't allow you to close your door. This is a serious safety hazard. Upon researching this problem I found that this has been happening to Volkswagen since at least the 2000s models. I had just went out of my house and gotten into my car when I notice that the door wouldn't open from the outside but would from the inside. I then went to close my door and it wouldn't close. About an hour of my car on with the heat on full blast the door was finally about to click shut.

After a couple of months of ownership, the vehicle developed water leaks through the rear door handles when the car was stationary. Whenever it rained, water got into the door lock latch mechanisms and water was pooling between the inner and outer door seals. When the doors were opened, water poured out. I explained this issue to my local dealer and demonstrated the problem but they claimed that they talked to Volkswagen and that it was normal water drainage. I don't believe this is normal for the following reasons : 1) the front doors don't have this issue 2) this issue in the left rear door is not as bad as the right rear door ( a good amount of water pools in the sill in the right rear door and I can see water in the lock latch mechanism ) 3) this issue didn't exist when I first bought the car 4) water is pooling inside of the outer plastic door seal that is on the door so if enough water accumulates, it may end up passing the inner plastic seal that is on the frame ( there are drainage holes on the outer bottom part of the door, which is for normal water drainage. I am not referring to these ) 5) this can lead to rust in the lock mechanism and can also be a safety hazard in cold weather where the door locks may freeze shut 6) I have not seen this type of issue in any of the other vehicles I've owned so, I don't agree with the dealer's and manufacturer's assessments that this is normal. Please look into this issue.
Wind noise coming from driver side door.
The front passenger door vibrates like crazy when the radio is turned on and a certain frequency is hit (doesn't matter the bass or volume). The problem can be alleviated by putting pressure on the arm rest of front passenger door. This issue can occur at anytime - in motion, stationary, etc.
After the software upgrade/service in Dec 2018, the doors unlock while we are driving on the street or the highway. Extremely dangerous. Eric the service manager at winn Volkswagen in newark California dealer refuses to notify vw of the issue and asked us to notify vw which I did.
Takata recall- I took the vehicle in because the horn on the vehicle was going off randomly while driving. Once diagnosed vw dealership said that it was because the firewall of the vehicle had not been sealed, therefore water was entering the vehicle. There was mold found in the vehicle, which now they have to replace the interior of the vehicle. The vehicle has been at the dealership for over two weeks, and I have not received a completion date from the dealership. They have actually made no efforts to contact me.
Glass panel at leading edge of roof shattered while parked. Lateral "crack" from side to side appears to be the result of torsional loading. Glass was not damaged when vehicle was initially parked.
Front driver side door will intermittently fail to lock and/or unlock with key fob or lock/unlock buttons in the cabin (began approx 6/20/2018 at approx 43,000 miles). Must use the key in exterior key hole to manually lock or unlock, but while key is in the ignition it is impossible to lock the door manually as there is no manual lock switch only power lock switch. Every time any door is unlocked and the driver goes from 0mph past about 10mph the car automatically tries to lock but fails. This is a safety hazard form carjacking, as there is no way to manually lock the doors from inside the cabin. At approx 46,400 miles (11/8/2018) the front passenger door experienced similar issues. It will intermittently fail to lock with key fob or lock/unlock buttons in the cabin, and the car will attempt to autolock the door after 10mph. The only way to lock the door manually is to open to door and use the emergency lock switch inside the door jam. This too is a safety hazard as there is no way to lock manually from inside the vehicle. An obd scan shows both driver and passenger door lock failures. Sometimes the locks will go weeks of time fully functional, but one or the other will eventually start failing again. This is likely due to a bad lock actuator, either a dead spot in the actuator's motor or poor soldering or connection due to poor design/manufacturing. Sometimes the driver can hear the actuator struggling sounding like a squeal from the actuator's location.

With my car in motion every time I turn my car on, I have multiple warnings that come on due to a fault in sensors causing my car to have the engine light on. I have asked the dealership if there were any recalls for air emission on my car or air bag recalls on my car and there answer was no. The driver side door handle has broken off to where you cannot properly close the door (I have krazy glued it back on once already) and it just is becoming a big issue. Every time I fix one issue, another one rises up causing me more headaches and stress due to no one having answers for me.

Door latch failed mid-drive and my door flew wide open mid-turn. Major safety issue. If this was an isolated incident, I wouldn't bother posting this. But if you use a quick google search, this is an issue Volkswagen wide. Not isolated to the Jettas, not even limited to mk6s.
Inoperative drivers door lock when locking with the key fob remote. Driver side door will not lock with the key fob, nor will it with the button inside the car. It will only lock with the key sometimes. But even then, probably 50% of the time it doesn't lock with that. Car will not lock while you are sitting inside, or driving. Not very safe when you are going through dangerous cities. . Especially if you are unaware when this defect is not going to allow you to lock your door, if needed. Isn't that what a lock is for- safety and security? this is a known problem, and has been for a while- within previous years. Volkswagen is obviously just refusing to do anything about it. When I took it to the vw mechanic, he seemed very well aware of this Volkswagen issue.
Car was parked , problem horn continues to sound, fuse had to be taken out. Having problem with car interior headliner, pulling away from edges throughout the vehicle.

42g8 recall 2015 also in Feb 2018 total loss of power when vehicle is a a complete stop as well as slowed to no acceleration once vehicle is slowed or stopped.
Two existing recalls on my vehicle have been completed and I would like to have them updated as complete in the system. They are: NHTSA recall number: opens new window takes away from VIN lookup section> 11e036 recall date: September 7, 2011 manufacturer recall number: 26g9 and NHTSA recall number: opens new window takes away from VIN lookup section> 14v656 recall date: April 7, 2015 manufacturer recall number: 42g8 I have attached a printout from the Volkswagen dealership that shows the inspections and if necessary corrective actions were taken to address both.
The headliner was separating from the inside roof of the car. It was starting to hang down. Also the interior door panel was coming apart and starting to disintegrate. Both had to be replaced. Volkswagon said out of warranty and they can do,nothing despite multiple online complaints of same issue.

The brakes make noise upon starting to brake and this has been happening since we owned it . Took it to the dealer which is gerald jones vw August's GA and they didn't look at it but o my tipped off the oil . They said the brake system doesn't come with a courtesy check . Also there were small dents in the car from the beginning that I made the dealer aware of and he blamed me . Even though o did I soft w him several brand new cars on the lot with small dents that looked the same . I think it needs to be repaired and free of charge.

Subject:2011 Volkswagen Jetta 3vwdz7aj1bm378509 non-compliance with fmvss standard no. 206 door locks and door retention components - passenger cars request for door latch repair reimbursement the front right door latch of my daughter's vw recently became inoperative. The door simply did not latch when closed and would freely swing open. We took the vehicle to the closest dealer, tom wood vw of noblesville, in. On may 13, 2017. In discussion with the service manager, brian mcnamee, he stated that vw would not cover the cost of the repair. Especially since the mileage was 101,000. I mentioned to brian that the door latch is part of the federal motor vehicle safety standards, (fmvss std. 206) and that those standards are not limited to mileage or warranty. A vehicle should meet those standards for the life of the vehicle. We paid for the repair at a cost of $512 (see attached repair invoice receipt). In preparation of this letter I entered in a chat with vw customer care. The vw rep, while sympathetic to the situation, stated that the repair would have been covered had the vehicle been within the mileage requirement of 50,000 miles. I stated that this issue was a fmvss compliance issue and that such a repair should not be limited to mileage. The vehicle was unsafe to drive. The door does not stay shut and swings open freely. My daughter's car had to be repaired. It was not a matter of choice in that it was unsafe to drive, and most likely illegal to drive. I paid for the repair. I am requesting that vw reimburse me for the cost of $512.
Car jolts on freeway. Driver side mirror protector fell off. As a result of trying to grab fallen off piece over extended arm injury. Due to extending arm out window.
While driving through high wind, the driver side mirror plastic protector fell off. The ac unit needed complete replacement costing 1600 and now the ideal while turning on car is very high. Sound almost like it did when I had to take it in for the electrical recall in the last years. Doors are squeak when opening and closing. And while driving a noise that sound like chains rattles through out the car which is a very irritating sound.
Water infiltration: there was a class action suit won against vw for water infiltration for model years through 2009, which filed before this vehicle was manufactured. Mine is a 2010, but manufactured in 2009. I now have the exact same problem, but haven't found any evidence a new class action suit was brought or that the company has voluntarily recalled the vehicles for correction. This problem has resulted in my car taking in enough water to create a 2" deep puddle where the front driver and passenger put their legs. While I thought I had extracted all water and dried out the car, I returned 3 weeks later to find the interior completely covered with mold/mildew, which creates a health hazard for most, and particularly me since I have allergies to some molds. The vehicle is now pretty much a total loss, and is valued at $8000 - which a retiree such as myself cannot afford to lose. My auto insurance does not cover this loss. The court case john dewey, jacqueline delguercio, et al v. Volkswagen of America, inc. Et al. Case nos. 07-cv-2249-fsh-ps and 07-cv-2361-fsh-ps (consolidated)) the final decision was in 2014, john dewey, jacqueline delguercio, et al v. Volkswagen of America, inc. Et al. Case nos. 07-cv-2249-fsh-ps and 07-cv-2361-fsh-ps (consolidated)).

"takata recall" I was driving on scott street, when another driver ran the red light on the intersection and hit my car on the passenger side towards the back passenger door, and the airbag didn't deploy. I informed vw, they did a diagnostic text on my car and their findings was that the airbag did what it was supposed to do. I didn't take it any further.
I hit a tree on a city street and the airbag did not deploy that time either and I had a cut on my head I had injury to my knee and my achilles tendon both of which resulted in surgeries. I have had two other accidents since neither time neither I have had two other accidents since and the air bags did not deploy. Both of those were in parking lots. I am 84 and have fallen twice since the accident because of my injuries and sustained head trauma and memory loss. I will try to locate the accident date. It was in 2016.
