1 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 2001 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 10/05/2004

My brakes would slow the car down on a stop and go traffic, where I will be driving slowly (without me stepping on the brakes), my car would eventually stop and will require heavy on the gas pedal to allow the car to move. (while the car car is in this stage:on a small slope the car placed on netural would not move) this would bring the rpm to a high rate to go at twenty km per hour (around 3,000 to 4,000 rpm). My rear disc brakes woul have heavy smoke once I have come to a full stop. This has happened a few months after I purchased my car. I thought it was due to the break in of the engine that was the cause. I have changed my rear brake disc pads a couple of times. There is heavy signs of the pads burning(smoking), people with simlar cars have had the same problem and they changed the brake booster and the problem was gone.

9 Brake Foundation Components problem of the 1998 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 12/28/1999

My lights, wipers and heat wouldn't work, discovered it was the ignition switch. Contacted vw, and dealer, they want to charge me too much to fix it. I know 3 other people with Jettas that had the same problem. Obviously vw is installing defective ignitions. My emergency brake wasn't releasing, took it to dealer and they informed me that I had a torn brake cable boot that was allowing moisture to get in and freeze my cable. The 2 yr/24,000 mile warranty was expired. My check engine light started going on and off, when I took it to the dealer, it took them 3 times to figure out it's the rear oxygen sensor. This is the first brand new car I have ever purchased and I have had more things wrong with it than I ever had with previously owned vehicles.
