Vehicle is a 2009 Jetta sedan - tdi (diesel) vehicle shut down while driving. Flow plug light flashed on dash along with display of "engine fault workshop" vehicle would not restart. Pulled code of p0087 fuel rail/system pressure low. Towed to dealer, boucher vw in franklin, WI. Dealer confirmed fault was a high-pressure fuel pump failure.

2004 vw Jetta GLS tdi operating at 75mph on interstate on cruise control when the engine shutoff completely. The vehicle still had electrical power and engine would crank but would not start. I rolled the vehicle off to the side of the road and attempted to re-start the engine and it finally cranked and drove vehicle approximately 500 miles before experiencing similar issue. Since that time vehicle has had same issue over 10 times. Dealer has inspected vehicle three times and has not discovered issue.

2008 vw Jetta. Consumer states engine shutdown the consumer stated while driving on the turnpike, suddenly the vehicle felt as if it downshifted and began to lose speed. Depressing the accelerator had no effect. The consumer managed to get to the emergency lane. He put the gear in neutral and then in drive and the vehicle started to respond and moved forward. He continued on with no further problems.

I owe a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta that I have been back and forward for a licensed dealership reporting that my car shuts off completely while driving. Iit have been during this about June 2007 and it has been to dealership about 6 times for this same thing I took it in April 2008 and they told me I need a new engine after several of months letting them diagnose the problem. I am paying car note for a car I can not drive. I seen good morning America and they say it is only 2009-2010 models when I have a 2006 they has shut off on me in traffic in birmingham, al , mobile, and mississippi. I call Volkswagen they told me that they could not help me because of my mileage they can only give me a 1000 dollars towards another Volkswagen. I told them that I will not buy another. At 1st they told me that I need and O2 sensor and the next time they could not find anything until they reported that it was my engine. I feel it is not fair for me to pay for a engine because I have brought the car to them on 5 occasion and I call to report the car shut off in montgomery, al on March 19, 2008 and they told me to have it tow to the dealership in mississippi who was familiar with car. I was starting it for the tow truck to take to dealer and the car we haywild.

The contact owns a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving 30-40 mph, there was a sudden loss of power. The dealer stated that the engine control unit failed and caused the vehicle to go into limp mode. As a result, the engine control unit shut off the fuel. The contact stated that this was a design by the manufacturer as a safety feature, and that the vehicle operated as intended. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact was concerned that the failure was not addressed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000.

Vehicle hesitates when taking off from stop and go. It launches forward like a delay with mass air flow sensor, but vehicle it still hesitates. Dealer says they can't replicate problem. The vehicle's hesitation became more frequent after each sevice and finally the engine shut off after the 34,000 miles service.
