I took my vw in for an oil change at the dealer and a leking fuel rail was discovered. The auto was "captured" for two days while the repairs were made. I was told not to remove the auto from the dealership because a fire could start. I have discovered that some 2016 vw Passats have been recalled for a fueld leak problem recall notice #16v403000. However, both the dealership and vw custome care have stated that my vehicle was not covered by this recall. I believe that maybe it should have been recalled since my wife and I were exposed to driving around with a ticking time bomb.

Hi , my 2014 Passat driven by a family member struck a parked truck. Luckily, nobody was hurt! the parked car was not occupied and the driver of the Passat was able to exit the vehicle unharmed. The speed was about 35 mph and the air bags deployed. This front collision resulted in a major fire that totally destroyed the car. The insurance company (progressive) is currently in the possession of the car. And one other important thing to note is that, about 2 years ago, this car was also involved in a different accident when it reared a car. That collision did not result in the deployment of the air bags but caused lots of damage. The radiator and lots of the plastic in the front needed replacement at that time. I don't recall the exact amount for the damage, but we ended up paying the full 2k deductible to get the car back.

Vehicle has major fuel pump issue, currently at 132,000 and noticing loss of power, car shaking, and occasional stall. A code reader is unable able to detect the issue which is a major concern. I have contacted the Volkswagen manufacturer and I consistently keep getting ignored after bringing up the recall that was put out for the fuel pump. While driving on the highway my rear and front suspension failed and dropped suddenly while moving slowly during traffic. I whave only been able to repair the front shocks and struts so far, but the rear are needed as well. I would like to state that all the parts are original manufacturer parts.

Car started to stall, the spark plugs, injectors, sensors all replaced. I go to pickup the car on three different occasions and it won't go 1/10 of a mile without stalling and refuses to start. The garage I was dealing with refuses to work on it any more. I think this seems to be a common problem with the 2014 Passats, but I don't see where anyone's has been fixed. The stalling has happened on multiple dates. Now it's at a garage and can't even get it to dealer and have already spent over 1000. 00.
To whom it may concern. Good afternoon. I really need your help on this. This particular vehicle has a defective def emission system that renders the car inoperable when the def sensors start acting up. Between 2022-2023, I took this vehicle to the Volkswagen dealership on numerous times, over ten different times. This vehicle was still protected under a factory emissions def extended warranty. The engine mounted diesel injection pump was changed by me when the Volkswagen dealer refused to honor the defective diesel injection pump. The def emissions systems has had numerous issues including shutting off on the freeway due to defective def sensors. Between 2022-2023 I was forced to keep the vehicle on for up to 96 hours costing me considerable expenses in fuel, and abnormally high mechanical wear and tear on my vehicle because I was unable to turn the vehicle off due to a Volkswagen diesel no-restart emissions issue that can only be repaired at the Volkswagen dealership. Vwoa has acted in extremely bad faith causing unnecessary hardship on their customers that erroneously purchased a Volkswagen Passat diesel with the def emission system. Volkswagen ripped me off by selling a defective vehicle, then refusing to honor their factory extended emissions warranty on the defective def systems. Please intervene. Jordan guerra 562-400-7738.
Fuel pump failure and leaking, the leak is coming from the fuel pump which is located at the top of the gas tank, the gasoline has spilled and covered the gas tank, fuel pump can be accessed by removing passenger seats, fuel/gasoline has leaked through this access and stained passenger seats with gasoline causing inside of vehicle to reek of gasoline. My family’s health and safety is at risk, gasoline and carbon monoxide are very dangerous. I towed the vehicle to Volkswagen dealership where it was inspected and the technician confirmed it’s a fuel pump failure, Volkswagen service representative also was made aware of the tank covered in gasoline and leak/stain under passenger seats. Vehicle was driving normal never gave any warning signs no dash lights, I noticed this because of the intense gasoline smell.
There is a recall with the fuel pump and the manufacturer is claiming that I need to replace certain parts to be able to do the recall.

Check engine comes on 2014 vw Passat tdi 68,000 miles. Dealer code shows nox sensor is bad. This car is covered through 2024 and 120000 miles by vw extended emissions warranty due to diesel emissions fraud settlement with us government. Vw refusing to honor warranty and make repair.
Gas leaking into backseat soaking cushions, passenger door body door whole stripped and door bolt loosen which could fall off if not tightened every 3 days.

The timing belt is terrible on this vehicle. This is the same model and engine as the last recall but mine didn’t qualify because it is a 2007 not a 2008. The belt is and chain are completely unstable and prone to catastrophic failure that can happen anytime while driving especially on the highway. This could cause a huge accident. There is also a major issue with the fuel pumps and the hoses. My fuel tank is leaking gas above 3/4 of a tank and can cause a severe fire even if someone dropped a lit cigarette under the car while I am driving.

Stalled out as I started to accelerate from a stop light. It's like not getting and fuel. Possibly some type of issue pertaining to that then my airbag light keeps flashing. Floor board lights cut on an off for no reason. Electrical equipment possibly incorrect?.

Replaced cracked fuel pump 3 times. Electrical problem to fuel pump ; also all were cracked from pressure. Thx !! dr.
Fuel pump under the rear passenger side is leaking large amounts of fuel allowing the fumes to build up in the cabin of the vehicle. No damage or accidents have occurred that would cause this and has made me sick while driving as well as paranoid as I am driving around a car with leaking gas in the interior cabin. 2017 Volkswagen passet se.
To start off, this car has common failures of the high pressure fuel pump cam follower. This poses serious risk of damage to the engine when the follower is blown throw and the car goes into limp mode and if this happens on road it could be catastrophic. There were no warnings that this was the issue besides researching videos on youtube while getting a fuel pressure code to find out the cam follower was completely blown throw which means my engine has many metal pieces inside of my engine. If I did not catch this soon the next failure would’ve been the camshaft. The camshaft going bad at and given moment could also be catastrophic on the road and possibly even spark a fire. Another issue is with the timing chain on specific fsi engines. If this chain snaps mid drive then your engine could potentially blow in the middle of the road causing an accident. This problem is known by Volkswagen and they have yet to take serious action in regards to this safety hazard. Another potential for catastrophic events is the wiring harness specifically the one that runs under the vacuum pump. These wires are covered in oil from the vacuum pump being prone to leaking and any fluid that goes on top of it. I also discovered that near my ecu to that wiring harness there was a spot of gasoline in which I was able to determine when I smelt the fluid with a glove on of course. This year make and model of Volkswagen can cause serious harm to those driving especially on the high way. The wiring harness and all components around it soak with oil and when you take off the manifold fuel also gets all over it even when you try to prevent it as much as you can. This has caused increased idle in my vehicle while driving with and epc light that makes the car stall out of no where. If it happened when I was turning my wheel it could’ve caused an accident on the road or even a driver to have road rage behind me. Please help myself and fellow Passat owners of this year stay safe.
Vw bcm unit causes vehicle to idle then shut off while driving making it impossible to steer or increase speed.
Was driving on the freeway and the vehicle suddenly died. Leaving me stranded in the car left lane with no way to pull over.
Stalling? have to put in drive in order to forward in order to get car to back up? air bags dealer will not fix wo $245. 00 dx fee. Clock wheel has more connection to what is wrong/air bags connections as well connected to horn (which stopped working) drive? all fuses replaced with new ones; horn would still not work; dangerous driving in florida without a horn** I just want all of the deemed replacement part of this vw 2013 Passat done without any charge whatsover; even an unnecessary dx fee** I am driving a car with defective air bags that can explode leading to a lethal situation for myself and/or my disabled grandchild** there have been a lot of complaints online other than for what these recalled products are allowed on this vehicle. I am not the only one dealing with this stalling issue/go forward to go backwards issue** dangerous*** what is I have to suddenly put it in reverse to get out of another vehicle or another harmful situation?????.
While I was operating the vehicle the vehicle stopped in the middle of the street. It was told to me it's the fuel system. The car has been diagnosed back in November of 2021. The fuel pump is not getting fire to the other.
Took my car to heritage. Volkswagen in 2022. They said the fuel tank needed replaced. Had engine light on and epc light on. They replaced the the upper and lower fuel tanks. When I picked up my car it still had the same problem. Still have the same lights on. I get hesitation when the car gets to the 2 ohms mark. I have to add fuel injection cleaner often.
Catastrophic failure of high pressure fuel pump sent metal shards into my fuel system on my vw tdi 2014 diesel car . Unknown high dollar repair costs. This is a known issue with this make model year and engine but when I call vw customer care they say my specific car isn’t covered. I don’t understand how that is possible. I also found an extension to cover this exact issue published by NHTSA. Gov and yet vw still says my car isn’t covered and I have to foot all the bills. Please help.
Took vehicle to shop report oil leak no warning signs causing timing chain problems what is the cause of oil leak is the recall issue on the engine?.
I bought an extended warranty on this car and it does not cover esc light coming on . Car is burning oil. I’m afraid to drive due to the esc also car misfires hardly.
2014 vw Passat: epc light and engine light went on, 1/11/2022. Car stalled. Called aaa and waited awhile. Tried again and car started so I drove. . . . 0. 4 miles and it happened again. Aaa driver said it wasn't the battery (lights were still on). Towed to my mechanic. He changed the oil and gave me a new battery. I drove 600 miles roundtrip the next day. Then, on 1/22/2022 same thing happened. Epc light, engine light went on and car stalled. The fix: I needed a new fuel pump control module. Interestingly enough, my other vw Passat (2006) had a recall on the fuel pump.
Mice and rodents just love eating various electrical wires, vacuum lines, diesel fuel lines (both from tank to engine & return lines), etc. Never once had any animals issues with my other vehicles. Discovered that vwoa thought it would be a brilliant idea to use soy in the manufacturing of electrical insulation, fuel hoses, vacuum lines, etc. Animals like eating soy. Very frustrating. My vehicle has been disabled before and one time I sprang a nice leak, leaving a trail of diesel behind me. Since all repairs and parts were ordered and conducted at local vw dealership. All records are both on carfax & stored in vwoa servers.

Vehicle engine abruptly stopped running on roadway. No prior symptoms. Would not restart although starter properly engaged. Mil light did not illuminate prior to stoppage. Bluedriver device showed no stored codes. Tow required. Vw dealer service department was backed up and stated they could not even begin diagnosis for 2 to 3 weeks. Independent service technician diagnosed problem as failure of fuel pump control module and replaced the module.
Engine time chain skipped. Fuel rail leak from regulator(dangerous to drive as it can catch on fire). Suspension problem car shakes over 40mph(alignment and balance did not help), problem due to coils or other components. Mechanic shop checked car and they denied to work on it due to fuel recall.
The car went 8 blocks 35mph the engine started shaking, I was stopping at the red light the car surging forward with my foot on brake engine still shaking. This all happened in 3 minutes. No lights on dashboard, the rpm dropped from 2,000 to 1,000 and then everything was ok.
After having parked the car long enough to eat dinner out, I pulled out onto the main street and the car engine showed clear signs of distress, sputtering, missing and ultimately going into what seemed to be limp mode. I was able to pull off the main lanes before the car died and would not re-engage after three attempts to restart. On the third attempt, the car stopped attempting to crank and the dash lights all began to blink until the only extra light that was left was the coil (glow plug indicator). We were left stranded in the street for a while until we could safely exit to push it out of the road and to a safe place. I later had the car towed to my mechanic where the issues were accessed and diagnosed. The causation of the failure is a combination of the first fuel pump failing and disintegrating then dispersing medal shards throughout the fuel system and ruining it entirety. I have never had any indicators or issues with this vehicle. There were no prior warnings or problems with the car. I was very blind sided and stranded in the road then felt forced to put myself in harms way to get it pushed out of danger and prevent an accident with another vehicle.
I put fuel in the car and about to start the car and it won’t start. Lights flickering.

The dpf keeps causing the engine light to come on when there isn’t anything wrong but it also makes the car use more fuel every time this happens.

Approximately back in June 2021, I noticed the smell of diesel fuel coming from the rear of the vehicle, noticed hours and days after the vehicle was parked. The smell is partially present from the interior in the trunk area, but mostly evident when standing near the vicinity of the fuel tank when outside of the vehicle. After driving the vehicle, I occasionally notice small puddles of diesel fuel (as evidenced by the oily texture and smell) coming from below the fuel tank. On occasion, I can also spot actual drops of diesel fuel on the lower car frame from underneath the vicinity of the fuel pump. These puddles usually evaporate or dissipate within an hour or two after appearing. Given that these puddles only appear after driving, and not after extended periods of the vehicle sitting in my driveway, I suspect that there is a leak in the fuel pump. A more recent vcds scan of the ecu on 29 October 2021 results in a gateway and dashboard fault code in the fuel pump, which may or may not be related to the fuel pump leak. The fault code is 00476, relating to the fuel pump control module, indicating "no communication"; the code is marked as "static". This fault code may not be related to the underlying fuel leak, but since it relates to the fuel pump, I thought it would be worth mentioning. Last but not least, a recall notice was issued on the diesel fuel pump assembly that impacted the make and model of my vehicle, issued in December 2004, just a couple months before the manufacture date of my vehicle (February 2005). .
