I have owned this car for 6 years and really like it. My problem is the passenger air bag light frequently lights up? it happens if the seat is empty, a purse is there or someone is sitting theret by the VIN it is not suppose to be affected by the recall.

My red airbag light & my check airbag system lights comes on and off while stationary. When it comes on it stays on from one destination to the next. When I return back to the car to start it again its not on, but if I wait a while to go to another destination the check airbag system light comes back on again.

Dash is completely covered in cracks. I feel like this can't be safe with the airbags underneath the cracks. Also, whenever a passenger is in my car the airbag light comes on.

I have 2004 Acura Tl, about 105000 miles. Airbag light was intermittent, now stays on, dashboard on top passenger side cracked several months ago. The vehicle has no previous airbag deployment. May cause airbag deployment, safety issue?.

Flow Acura (425 silas creek pkwy, winston-salem, nc 27127, (336) 723-3524) initially diagnosed that the wires were malfunctioning. After a diagnostic test was performed, the indicator remained off for approximately one month. When the air bag indicator illuminated again, the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who advised her to take it back to the dealer because it was still covered under warranty. Another Acura dealer (crown Acura, 3908 w wendover Ave, greensboro, nc 27407) changed the seat belt buckle, but the failure recurred. The second dealer had to order another part and repaired the vehicle again, but the failure recurred approximately six months later. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 65,000.

The contact pulled the vehicle over and noticed that a crack developed in the dashboard around the passenger side air bag. The air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the dashboard needed replacement. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.

Takata recall - my airbags on my 2008 Acura Tl have exploded on my seats, roof, and side airbags. I don't understand why previously submitted complaints about this issue have not been responded to. My airbag light is on and will not go off and my safety is being jeopardized everyday on this vehicle and it appears for the last decade other owners of the 2008 Tl have reported on the Acura forums what I have, yet for some reason, the recalls are excluding this model. Why, why why????? does it take another death for someone to recognize this???? the vehicle was moving when this occured on an exiting access road.

The contact stated that two different dealers claimed to have remedied the recalled air bags; however, the contact stated that a brand new (unopened) box of air bags was left in the trunk of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to one of the dealers where it was diagnosed that the side air bag was in the trunk and not the ones that were repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. My Acura Tl's passenger dashboard has a crack running down and my airbag light is on. Car was not involved in any accident and apparently this is a known issue.

Takata recall my dash on the passenger side cracked and now another crack is starting for no reason. I have always taken great care of my car and did not do anything to cause it to crack and the airbag light started coming on and doesn't go off. I looked it up by VIN number and didn't see a recall but saw other complaints just like this has happened.

My 2005 Acura Tl is developing cracks in the dashboard. One of the cracks of major concern is the one that is forming along the right-hand side of the passenger airbag. Major crack all over dash board. Six are on the passenger side of dash directly where air bags are housed above glove compartment, spanning the entire width to the drivers side. Air bag light is on as well. Did some research and discovered it was a very common problem with this model and nothing has been done to fix. The cracks are getting wider with time and have progressed with time.

Takata recall. Air bag light continues to come on when there's a front seat passenger.

I noticed a crack in my dashboard on the passenger side around the air-bag housing after returning from work. Dealer stated it is merely cosmetic and would cost $1500 to replace. The crack has continued to run further on both sides of air-bag. Also, car has been towed several times because of failure to start after parked overnight. Had battery replaced twice. Finally took it to dealership and was told hands-free module needed to be replaced or removed. Removal cost me $200. Replacement would have cost $800. Also, my fuel cap indicator has been coming on for quite some time when the fuel falls below halfway. I have owned this car for 9 years. I keep the vehicle in good condition. Now with the dashboard cracking its value has decreased immensely not to mention could cause the air-bag to deploy without incident. If that were to happen and cause an accident Honda/Acura would have much bigger issues to contend with. I have contacted Acura corporate and they didn't seem concerned by the issue. Dealership was equally unconcerned. These are issues that require recalls before something tragic happens.

Passenger side dashboard cracked verticle direction where airbag is. The airbag light is displayed in dashboard. Because of the crack, it is not known if the airbag will work properly if in a crash or if it will deploy unexpectedly also causing harm.

Airbag indicator light on instrument panel illuminates periodically. Dashboard has developed one significant crack directly over the front passenger airbag. I am concerned that the combination of the airbag indicator light and dashboard cracks indicate a safety issue. If the airbag were to deploy, it may not do so appropriately. The cracks could cause it to deploy in wrong direction, rendering it ineffective or dangerous. Also, pieces of dashboard could break off in event of airbag deployment and result in projectiles that could injure occupants.

Cracks have appeared in the dashboard especially around the passenger side airbag. The airbag light has been on since the first crack appeared. Dealer says to trade in the car and buy a new one! why doesn't Acura own this issue and fix this systemic problem that owners are reporting? this is potentially a huge safety issue as I am concerned that the air bag may deploy unexpectedly.

The vehicle was taken to esserman International Acura (305-477-6666, located at 10455 NW 12th st suite a, doral, FL 33172) where the recall repair was performed; however, the air bag indicator flashed on and off. A couple of years later, the contact received another notification for NHTSA campaign number: 19v182000 (air bags). The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the technician stated that a diagnostic test needed to be performed at the contact's expense. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated after the initial repairs were performed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired.
