7 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2006 Audi A4

Failure Date: 07/27/2017

Takata recall attempts to have the inflator replaced at two Audi dealerships have failed. I've received two recall letters stating the parts are available. I also attempted to reach Audiusa at 800-253-2834 and after waiting a half hour my call was dropped. I'm seeking direction on how to get an Audi dealership to honor the recall. Thank you!.

8 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 04/16/2017

Takata inflator: for at least 2 years, if not more, we have received recall notices from Audi USA to call our local service agent and make an appointment to go in and have the airbags changed. We have contacted them asking for an appointment to have this work done on an almost monthly basis and they never have the replacement part. The A4 has been located in humid south florida for all it's life and it is now 10 years old. Most importantly, we'd like to hand it down to our teenage daughter, however, we are reluctant until it is fixed. The collection, our local Audi dealership has not been able to provide us with the replacement airbags.

9 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 04/01/2017

I have been receiving notifications for the takata psdi-5 driver frontal airbag inflator since April 2017 or earlier, and there is still not a remedy for this. I'm told the replacement parts are still not available. There is grave danger with the current airbag situation and I do not feel they are taking the appropriate steps to replace the parts to ensure a safe vehicle. This needs to be taken care of. Please help push them!.

10 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2005 Audi A4

Failure Date: 01/18/2017

Takata recall - been awaiting "parts" since 5/27/2016. It is now 1/18/2017. Recall states "inflator could rupture . . . After long-term exposure to absolute high humidity and temperature cycling". My vehicle will be 12 years old in 3 months and I live in "hotlanta" GA ("high humidity" is the norm here). I've "avoid(ed) use of the front passenger seat" for 8 months now. Our family has grown and now this is not possible any longer. Spoke to Audi USA today (I call them regularly) and they state they still have no idea on parts availability as "NHTSA is determining the priority of repairs". How my vehicle is not a priority is beyond my comprehension. Eight months on a waiting list for a remedy is beyond my comprehension. I had to buy a larger car to fit my growing family and it is now beyond my moral capability to sell this defective vehicle "which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants" and be able to sleep at night. Audi is a big corporation, takata is a big corporation and NHTSA is a big government entity but, I know human beings must still work at both places and somebody, somewhere has apparently decided my life and the lives of my family are somehow not a priority. Eight months without a definitive fix date on a car that's got to be a ticking time bomb at 12 years old in the humid south (yet winters with temps below freezing aka "temperature cycling"). . . Fix it or require Audi to buy it back a-la vw diesel fiasco.

13 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2006 Audi A4

Failure Date: 01/01/2017

Takata inflator recall I have called Audi of westwood - prime motor group - in westwood MA many times ove the past year to get an appointment. They say they will call back when they get the part. It has been more than a year and still no repair. I am driving an unsafe car and Audi of westwood does nothing. I want my airbag repaired.

14 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2008 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/04/2016

Takata recall: this complaint is in regard to passenger airbag only, what about the driver. I contacted Audi USA, 800-822-2834 and confirmed with the rep ( vince) that there is no guarantee available regarding the driver airbag not affected by the recall. Audi USA is not able/willing to provide a letter indicating that there is no need to be concerned re; driver air bag and more importantly , that it is safe. . I find this to be very inappropriate, I live in miami, FL. A highly humid and hot state which takata has reported airbag inflator could potentially rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute high humidity and temperature cycling. I know for a fact can be deadly if airbag deploys. I was informed by the Audi/ rep that the only way to be sure is to " take the car apart to confirm manufacturer of airbag. " this is highly unacceptable. I do not feel safe driving my vehicle and should not have to deny a family/friend transportation ( passenger ) because I have a recalled airbag with a "repair solution pending. " in addition, I am making my car payments towards a car that I now feel unsafe, and cannot allow a passenger to accompany me. I am requesting a prompt answer to my complaint in hopes that we can come to an agreement and solution towards this problem.

15 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2008 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/04/2016

Takata recall: received notice from Audi of America April 2016 stating the driver's side airbag inflator has potential to cause injury or death but no parts available to repair. Received notice from Audi of american July 2016 stating the passenger's side airbag inflator has potential to cause injury or death but no parts available to repair and they recommend not using passenger seat until recall repair performed. Called Audi who informed me that while both airbags have the same potential issue, they can only recommend not using passenger side as the consumer must use the driver's side to drive a car. Audi also informed me there is no way to make the airbags defunct until parts are available. It has been 4 months since receiving the driver's side airbag letter and still no part.

16 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Audi A4

Failure Date: 07/21/2016

Takata recall. Received letter from Audi of America in April 2016 indicating airbag inflator could rupture, which may result in serious injury or death. Have appointment for regular car servicing on July 21 2016. Inquired about plans regarding recall repair. Dealership indicated that there are no current timelines for repairs. Will be notified when parts become available. No further recommendation. My wife drives this car daily, and this doesn't seem quite right. Am interested in the role of consumer protections services here. Thanks!.

17 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Audi A4

Failure Date: 06/17/2016

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Audi A4. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v382000 (air bags) pertaining to the front passenger air bag inflator. The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

18 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Audi A4

Failure Date: 05/29/2016

Takata recall. The recall was announced in may, but there is no remedy yet available. In five months, I think it should be possible to figure out a replacement inflator and offer it as a service, particularly since the system is potentially deadly. Even a partial remedy of disabling the airbag would be preferrable. As of 9/9/2016, the following is listed "remedy: repair solution pending. Recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available".

19 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2007 Audi A4

Failure Date: 02/09/2016

Takata recall the driver airbag inflator was recalled in February of 2016 and the passenger airbag inflator was recalled in may 2016. It is now December 2016 and Audi has no timeline on when the airbags will be replaced. I am forced to drive in a vehicle with serious safety concerns every day. This problem has not been remedied in a timely manner and is risking the safety of consumers such as myself.

20 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

Takata recall - I bought my car in February 2016, and I still have not been able to get my deadly airbag replaced. Each time I check on the recall, I get the following disappointing message: "driver frontal airbag takata psdi-5 inflators repair not yet available" after a 20 month wait, a repair should be ready by now.

21 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem of the 2006 Audi A4

Failure Date: 04/21/2007

Takata recall -I find this extremely disturbing that a risk as the recall states "in the event of an inflator rupture, in very rare cases metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants. " the part that I find disturbing is that there is no replacement part available at this time and no loaner cars are being provided nor an alternative other than the recommendation of not having a passenger sit in the vehicle. I have paid a lot of money for my car, and it is very well maintained by Audi dealership. It seems unjust that no matter how good I have cared for and put into my vehicle, it is still and has always been unsafe?I am not in a position where I can hold off on carrying any passengers in the front seat. I am a mother of 2 ( a 15 year old and 7 year old) and I also share carpool with another parent where I have no choice but to use my front seat. Besides that, I do not think it is right for Audi to suggest how to use their car that they have invested in without a fair accommodation. I do not have an "extra" car that I can drive around as an alternate and even if I did, how fair would it be for Audi to ask me not to drive it, if I plan to have passengers in my car, or how fair is it for me to ask my friends and family to sit in the back seat?! this is ridiculous. I plan to be compensated. Audi should hope that nothing terrible happens to anyone. I had plans for my daughter to take over this car. She will be 16 soon and has been learning to drive in this Audi, and now I may have to purchase a different car for her because this Audi is unsafe. Might I add, I may even have to hold off teaching her to drive under her CA. Driver's permit because I am no longer to sit in the passenger seat? this is ridiculous, you have no idea how you affect people's lives, as long as Audi keeps making money.
