The contact owns a 2008 Audi A4. The contact received an unknown recall notice related to the air bags. The contact scheduled an appointment at a dealer and had the recall serviced. The contact then stated that while idle in the parking lot of a hospital, a speeding vehicle clipped the front end, driver's side of her vehicle, which caused the entire front bumper to detach from the vehicle. The driver also hit a gate, guardrail, and utility box in the parking lot. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact was then treated at the hospital for an injury to her neck and left shoulder. The contact sustains severe headaches weeks after the accident. The contact received an x-ray and had been assigned to physical therapy for the next few months. The other driver was not injured as a result of the accident. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent mechanic and was later towed to a storage unit. The contact family member, who is mechanically inclined, stated that the vehicle's air bag sensors were defective. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired by dealer. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer; the manufacturer gave the contact a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

I just purchased this vehicle from a private owner. I am already aware of the driver side airbag recall. Went to turn key to auxiliary to close sun roof and the steering wheel airbag deployed in my face. The vehicle had been parked and not driven for over 12 hours. Vehicle is available for inspection any time.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, but no assistance was provided. The contact's granddaughter had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Every time I start the car, a message comes on saying that the passenger airbag is off even when I have an occupant next to me. I spoke with the dealer and he told me that this recall was claimed and fixed in 2022 in texas by the previous owner but I replied that the problem continues and he told me that this was no longer an Audi problem. Furthermore, every time it accelerates over 40 miles per hour, a message about the driving system in malfunction appears and also the automatic on and off system at stops stops working and when I drive it at low speed there is no problem. I took it to Audi and they told me that they should change the turbo and I told them that the car only has 100,000 miles and why they should change a turbo that only has 100,000 miles of use and they told me that’s how it is.

I purchased a 2024 Audi A4 with 20 miles as a birthday present for my son on 12/20/2023 for $45,028. 81 cash, plus traded my son’s 2012 BMW 328i with 22,000 miles and they applied $8,500. 00 credit. This is an atlanta, georgia Audi dealership. My son drove the car for one week and his salesman had an appointment set for him to bring his car back one week later to add Audi connect software to vehicle and my son’s phone. We took his car back to the dealership and they added the software and we left. My son told me several lights starting turning on in his dashboard but he could not take the car back that day because the dealership had closed as we were leaving the dealership. I called the salesman the next morning and he said to bring car back and they would check it. My son could not bring it back until 10 days later on 12/30/2023, because he was sick in bed. His apartment is about 20 mins from the dealership so when he returned his car had 100 miles from only driving the vehicle to and from the dealership those four trips. Oscar in service dept said he needed to leave the car over weekend and they would check it Tuesday 1/2/2024 since that was a holiday weekend, and oscar gave chris a loan car. Oscar texted my son on 1/3/2024 saying his car had a defective air bag module and that module was causing all the trouble lights to appear on his dashboard, and they could not fix it until 30 days because they had to order part from sweden. Oscar also said they had to keep the vehicle and it could not be driven until that part was fixed because of all the trouble lights in dash and he wanted to make sure the car would be ok when my son starts to drive it again. I don’t like the fact that the dealer has my son’s car we traded in and they have my full payment of the remaining balance after my trade in was applied to balance of car. Is this car a lemon and is it normal to buy a car only to have dealer keep it one week after Audi connect software was downloaded? thanks.

The airbags in our 2005 Audi A4 were recalled. We had the airbag replaced due to the recall in Audi of stratham, 58 portsmouth Ave, stratham, nh 03885 in February 2023. On 12/8/23, my daughter was involved in a serious front-end collation with another vehicle. The airbags in the Audi did not deploy. The other vehicle (which sustained less damage) did deploy. Without the airbags, her face hit the steering wheel, causing a large laceration to her eyelid and significant bruising and swelling to her face.

I contacted the local (miami, FL) Audi dealership's service department to learn if my Audi A4 2004, which prevoiusly did not appear in the takata air bag recall, was manufactured with takata airbags. Apparently Audi A4 2004 vehicles in other geographies had been recalled, and campaign numbers were issued for takata airbags in 2004 (links below). Recalls for Audi vehicles manufactered just prior to, and also just after, my Audi A4 2004 appear to indicate the dangerous takata airbags may have been installed by Audi in the A4 2004 models. After a back and forth with the local Audi dealership and "told" my vehicle was not in the recall I asked again whether takata airbags were in my vehicle, which to date has not been replied. I contacted Audi USA and they stated my Audi A4 2004 was "out of warrantee" (as we were already aware) an that problems were the resposibilty of the customer (!), even after expplaining our safety concern, the geographies matter, the proximity in time before and after the manufacture date of my vehicle of vehicles on the recall list. And just yesterday, another manufacturer announced recalls for these takata airbags across theor 2004 BMW models, further indivating takata in 2004 was manufacturing these dangerous airbags. Audi USA appeared top want no part of working with myself or the dealership in determining whether my vehicle contains the takata airbags(!). It is unknown whether the Audi A4 2004 contains the dangerous airbags, and it seems to me both the dealership and Audi USA would like to keep their head in the sand re the matter. . Read more...

My 2007 Audi A4 is part of the takata airbag lawsuit so I scheduled an appointment to have it repaired at Audi of tampa. I had my car towed there because the battery recently died and I was told I needed to have the key reprogrammed because it would not start after replacing the battery and figured I could have both repairs done at the same time. My appointment was at 7pm but when I arrived nobody had any knowledge of my appointment and was told they do not make appointments that late in the day but a technician would give me a call. I leave my car there and receive a call today from the repair technician tyler king who proceeded to tell me that prior to doing anything to the car he'd have to run a diagnostics test that would cost me $500! what? just to give a diagnosis that I've already been given? insane. So now that I do not have that kind of money what am I supposed to do? tow it back home and have a locksmith reprogram the key and ignore the airbag issue? I feel unsafe in the Audi I once loved and relied on daily and don't know how I am supposed to proceed with this.

Many years ago Audi advised that there is a defect with the air bag in my vehicle, and that they would change it for free. I contacted a dealer and they said they would contact me after the part is available. They have done nothing, the defective air bag is still in the car, the company still explains that the airbag can cause serious injury to occupants, and I still drive my family in the car. Now they are suggesting that because the car is nearing 15 years old they may disregard the risk to my family and not take responsibility for the defective air bag. The car has been to the shop, but their current web site does not clearly say, in plain language, that the air bag has been replaced. The language is not written so that an average prudent person can understand. I would like, in straight forward and unambiguous language, to know what the status is with the car.
I was in a pretty bad car accident, the car was totaled but the air bags didn’t deploy and I slammed my head on my steering wheel, I got side swiped and the driver door wasn’t able to be opened I had to kick it open and the front of the car hit a concrete pole going roughly 35 mph or more.
My 2017 Audi A4, is having a problem with the passenger air bag sensor. Whether there is a person on the passenger seat or not, the air bag sensor with turn on or off without warning and display a message. I have read that this problem has been recalled before.
I first received notice of this recall in 1/22. My Audi dealer has continuously stated that Audi does not send them enough kits to remedy this recall.
The front passenger airbag light goes on and off randomly whenever if there is someone sits at the front passenger seat. The problem is exactly same as described in recall 21v874000. Audi A4 2019 is on the list of recall, but my car wasn't been recalled for no reason.
I have been experiencing something that might be related to safety recall 74e3, but I am not sure. I've been driving with my seatbelt on with no one at the passenger seat. But the seatbelt sign keeps showing up with the beeping sound, and the sign says safety system malfunction with front airbags off. . . . I called the Audi fletcher jones dealership in irvine, California, the service team told me that they don't have the part to help fix this recall and there is nothing they can do. They also would not tell me when this recall can be fixed. I called a few other dealership in orange county, California, seems none of the dealership has the parts to fix this. I have not yet encountered an accident, but felt risky driving the car now.

After dealership did the second repair to the airbag recall, the airbag light came on and has been on solid . When taking the car back to the dealership to have it fixed ,we were clear about the whole thing over the phone . The dealership proceeded to charge me for a diagnostic test as well as claiming to not have seen any recalls on the car . Dealership claimed the whole airbag needed to be replaced yet the car has never been in an accident. Bottom line the initial recall isn’t finished . Dealership explained car would be safe to drive , even tho the safety system is currently malfunctioning .

I went to Audi fort worth (116 university dr, fort worth, TX 76107) to fix my pods recall currently on my Audi A4. After a day of servicing my vehicle for the recall the dealership handed me back my vehicle in the condition attached in the photo. You can see the huge gap in the seat which is a safety hazard considering there is high voltage wires in the seat and they just left it exposed with a considerable gap. They refused to reassemble my seat so I am unsure if my airbag sensors even work now, it has been a week of waiting and my VIN still shows that it has a recall even though the service was completed a week ago. I asked for a service ticket of he work preformed but Audi fort worth refused to provide me one. I went in for the recall service on 1/24/2021. Is there any way we can remove my VIN from this recall list since the service was completed? I have messaged the Audi service manager veronica about this issue but still no response from her. Even left her an email and voice message. I just would like to file a complaint about this service center, and get my VIN removed from the recall list since the work was performed according to Audi.

The contact owns a 2018 Audi A4. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph a second vehicle crashed into the passenger side front end of the vehicle. During the crash the front end of the vehicle was severely damaged but no air bags deployed. The driver sustained a fractured left wrist, concussion, lumbar injury and left arm injury. No other injuries to the second driver were reported. The vehicle was towed away and later deemed a total lost. A police report was taken at the scene. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the incident. The failure mileage was 21,000.
The passenger side airbag of the car does not detect passengers in the car. The problem was confirmed by the dealer and was notified to me before putting deposit on this vehicle. The deposit was placed in November of 2021 and as of today there is still no update on the fix. I saw on your website that if the manufacturer is not able to fix the issue in a timely manner then to notify. My main concern is that I’ve been waiting for a repair with no update and when I request for one, all I get is “ we’re not sure when the remedy will be available “. If you could please look into this matter and let me know. Thank you so much for your help.

Our 2017 A4 suddenly had the passenger airbag warning light illuminate while driving. In addition a different warning stated "safety system malfunction. " we took the car to the dealer. They saw that there was a code in the computer but said that this could be "because a wire moved. " they claimed it was "fixed" by "restarting" the car. They did no repair despite our protests, and told us to bring it back if it happened again. The next time we drove the car it happened again. We returned to the dealer. They stated the following (1) there is nothing wrong with the car and we should ignore the random intermittent safety light and continue driving; (2) that "probably you won't have a crash during the malfunction, so it should be ok" and "Audi engineering won't pay to fix this under your warranty because "sometimes your seat heater can trigger this warning for no reason if you don't use the seat heater. " Audi is refusing to fix this obvious safety error impacting the airbag system.
