1 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2006 Audi A4

Failure Date: 02/27/2020

My personal Audi A4 was involved in a front end collision on an inner-city road due to loss of friction on frozen ice. Despite there only being a driver present in the car, the driver side airbag from the steering wheel did not activate while the passenger side airbag did. I had already previously checked the takata recall, which affect the exact model of my vehicle, yet when I entered the VIN, it displayed that no recalls were present. The collision happened at a speed of less than 25 mph, and the unneeded damage costs pf the passenger side airbags alongside the health risks of not having an airbag deploy for the driver has led me to filing this complaint as it was a very unpleasant experience.

5 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/29/2016

Takata recall. Why is it taking takata so long to get an airbag to Audi? my car is 7 years old and drivers side airbag is part of this recall. Takata should be working with other manufacturers involved to meet demand. This is a critical item that you expect to save your life, not take it. Seriously they need to get on the ball here.

6 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2005 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/26/2016

Audi is taking too long to come up with a fix for the 2005 Audi A4's that have been recalled due to unsafe passenger-side airbags. Example: waukf68e75a522472 has been recalled but the listing on NHTSA says that no remedy is available. This is unsafe and unfair to customers.

7 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2005 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/02/2016

Audi has taken no action to remedy the recall on may 27, 2016 for the passenger side air bag (16v382). I have contacted both my local dealership and and Audi of America and their response was to continue to wait. I also have a seat belt locking mechanism that had it's plastic covering fall off. I asked for a warranty or good will repair, but was declined due to the age of the car.

8 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Audi A4

Failure Date: 07/11/2016

Takata recall. I was notified at the beginning of July that my vehicle was affected by the takata recall for the passenger side airbag, but that no solution was available. I requested more information both from my local Audi dealership as well as from Audi USA and received no definitive answer. The best estimate the dealership could give me was 8 months to a year before a solution. This means that I can not safely have a passenger in the vehicle or our infant int he back seat for that period of time, essentially rendering the vehicle useless. This does not seem like a reasonable time period to me and I would like the NHTSA to evaluate the situation.

10 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 04/01/2016

Takata recall I received a recall notice regarding the driver side air bag in April 2016, almost a year ago now. Called the dealer - who said he had no parts for the repair, and was not authorized to provide a loaner car. I called Audi corporate, and was told there was nothing they can do. This week, a second recall notice came, this time for the passenger air bag. I rarely drive the car because of this. What can I do to get this taken care of?.

11 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2009 Audi A4

Failure Date: 12/03/2015

Takata recall I have been informed by mail, for several years now, that the airbags in my car needs to be replaced due to the recall. The passenger side has been replaced, yet the driver side airbag has not. I am constantly after my dealership to inform me as to the time frame for replacement, but they never have any information. This has been ongoing now for several years. Can anything be done to speed up the process.

22 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2004 Audi A4

Failure Date: 05/17/2004

(1) I was waiting at a major intersection at a red light. When it turned green, I proceeded into the intersection. An unlicensed, uninsured driver in an old Chevrolet pick-up truck coming in the opposite direction ran the red left turn light and collided broadside into the driver's side of my 2004 Audi s4 quattro sedan. (2) the side airbag, which is in the driver's seat at the exact location of the impact, failed to deploy. I broke my left hand, injured my right shoulder (rotator cuff impingement), and suffered lacerations to both hands. There was substantial damage to the driver's side of the car, including the b-pillar, which is a structural part of the uni-body frame. I have digital photographs of the damage that I can send to NHTSA if you provide me with your e-mail address. (3) I contacted Audi u. S. A. To complain, and they did not offer to do anything to correct the failure of the side airbag to deploy. The car has been repaired at a competent paint and body shop and I am driving it again. The repairs took two months, and were paid for by my automobile insurance company under my uninsured motorists property damage coverage. The body shop retained the broken parts, including the b-pillar, and they are available for inspection.

23 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2003 Audi A4

Failure Date: 08/30/2003

Our brand new 2003 Audi A4 was rear-ended by a Ford f-550 traveling at approx. 55 mph. The Ford f-550 did not brake before impact and hit the Audi with such force that it impacted the vehicle immediately in front which hit that vehicle in front of it. All were stopped for a traffic light. My wife, the only occupant and driver, had to be cut out of the Audi. She suffered permanent brain injury as a result of hitting the rear-view mirror and windshield. She also suffered numerous other injuries. She hit the steering wheel with such force as to bend the bottom of the wheel inward. My complaint. . . The driver air-bag did not deploy while the passenger side air-bag did deploy. Had the drivers side air-bag deployed, she may have not suffered brain injury from this event. I've contacted Audi several times for an explanation with "bs" answers. I finally told them that they should have at least given her a new car. Perhaps I'm a bit naive. In any event, I'm certain that the air-bag should have deployed had it been working properly.
