Passenger air bag notification on gauge cluster indicates that passenger airbag is off when occupied and unoccupied multiple times in a small time period. The indicator goes back and forth between airbag on and airbag off constantly activating an alarm.
The contact owned a 2021 Audi A4. The contact stated that while driving at a low rate of speed through a parking lot, the vehicle independently accelerated and the brake pedal locked. The vehicle accelerated up a hill as the contact was unable to depress the brake pedal; he collided with an electric pole which caused the vehicle to stop. Due to the shock and abruptness of the failure, the contact was uncertain if any warning lights illuminated the instrument panel. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact and no other bystanders were injured as a result of the failure. The police and fire department arrived at the scene and a police report was filed. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed from the scene to an independent body shop. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had been destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000. The VIN was unavailable.

I recently purchased my Audi A4 and immediately have had electrical issues. Just recently the back window will randomly roll down and last night when I started my car the safety system light and message came on. It stated see owners manual. I began to drive and the light turned off. As I drove it began to blink on and off then finally staying on and making it distracting to drive.
My 2017 Audi A4 warranty for factory just ended I have a used car warranty on the car safety restraint one and keeps on coming on passenger seat seems malfunctioning for a seat pod.
The passenger side air bag warning light and/or passenger seat sensor mat has failed 3 times (twice since we've owned the car and once before). We purchased a used 2017 A4 Audi sedan in October 2019. In early November 2020 the passenger side airbag warning light came on. After adjusting the front passenger seat, the light went off. Thereafter, the light would intermittently go on and off. We took the car to the dealer from whom we bought it - royal automotive group in san francisco. Their technician tested the car and confirmed a fault code #dtc b1225f1. They found "TSB #2051242/5 for issue and fault" and installed "cable tie per TSB. " we continued to drive the car without incident until September 2021when the problem happened again. The passenger side airbag warning light began going on and off intermittently both when the front passenger seat was occupied and when it was not. Since we had moved from san francisco to novato, we took the car to Audi marin. They verified the concern and found fault code p122f51. They confirmed the TSB recommended repair had already been done and told us it was first repaired on August 2, 2019 (before we bought the car) and again in November 2020 when we reported the problem to royal automotive group in san francisco. Audi marin's recommended repair is to replace the passenger side seat pod which would cost approximately $2,000. We have been advised that the defective passenger side air bag and/or seat sensor pad constitutes a safety hazard because the airbag system may not work. We have since learned that several Audi models have been recalled for defects in the passenger occupant detection system (pods). In March of 2021, it was announced Audi is recalling virtually all a3, rs3 and s3 cars built from 2015 to 2020 to address the risk that the pods may malfunction and turn off the airbag when someone is in the front passenger seat.

Passenger airbag goes on and off random with or without a passenger. Driving on side roads and highways.
I slid off a wet curvy down hill road and slammed into an embankment. Went unconscious and woke with a large laceration to back of head. Saw that the passenger airbags exploded but none for driver's side. Seatbelt on driver's side tighten so tight could strangled me if I was wearing it. Have video of malfunctioning seatbelt and airbag.

Purchased the vehicle a few months ago (July of 2020). Before buying it I was told that the warning chime for the seatbelt had stopped working , so I took it to my local german auto shop to see what would needed to fix it. To my surprise, it's a part in the instrument cluster that would need to be replaced, but it's a common issue as these cars age for the warning chime to fail therefore not notifying or warning if the driver or passenger belt is buckled. Warning chime does not work whether stationary, or moving for any seat in the vehicle.

On July 2, 2020 I was in a city street sitting at a stop light waiting for it to turn green when all of a sudden the steering wheel, driver side seat and the driver side curtain airbags deployed hitting me. I was in a state of shock since I was not moving or had not been hit. I had to move the car over into a parking lot. The horn was honking and would not stop so I had to take out fuse. I did not know what to do so I called a family friend to come help tow the car back to my house since I was not far from it. Then on July 5, 2020 I received a post card in the mail from Audi dealership saying there was a urgent airbag safety recall. So on July 6, 2020 I contacted the dealership and explained what had happened and left my information. I have not heard anything back from them since. I have not driven the car it had been sitting in driveway since this happened.

I originally had 3 recalls on my vehicle I called in to see about getting them fixed free of charge as explained in the recall tech bulletin . The customer service representative proceeded in getting all of my information then after doing so tells me there are no recalls on my vehicle and proceeded to update my cars info shortly after I went back to the original site of this recall put in my cars info again and all the recalls that was once available for my vehicle was mysteriously gone. I never received a notice and never got it fixed. Now the recall that was originally posted are starting to be noticeable on my vehicle such as the defective water pump, defective headlights and defective airbag situation what can I have done about this issue.

I have called my dealership and reached out to the vehicle manufacturer on their website numerous times over a 10 year period (at the very least since Audi announced agreed to the repairs). I keep on receiving notice postcards from Audi to have this scheduled with my local dealership. When I call they keep telling me to be patient, they will call me when one comes in. I have started to receive postcards from another dealer to schedule the repair. . . Only this dealer is across the country in California! it does not seem to me when I contact Audi of America they don't really care. I only have approximately 70,000 miles on the car because I don't drive it with my family aboard(because of the factory installed takata front passenger anti personnel device). The only help from Audi was in the from of a recommendation "do not" use front passenger seat. To recap 12 year old vehicle, I believe I live in zone2, numerous attempts to both Audi of America and my local dealership, recall notices from California! *****update: as I was about to file this complaint I decided to call benzel busch Audi to check. And miraculously they have one. I was told by Audi of America through customer service representative greg m. On may 16, 2019, that he spoke to katherine at service and that they are awaiting parts and that she assured him that I was a priority and once the part arrives they will be reaching out to me directly. In the almost a year of waiting, no one has contacted me, not aoa or local dealer. I called her today Jan. 8, 2020 and scheduled a repair on Jan. 13. It would seem that I am not a priority.

The negligent driver yielded to the flow of traffic without stopping. When he collided with us, the airbags (exploded) deployed so strongly that they damaged the windshield and our bodies: face, neck, etc. Our beloved Audi A4 2009 was totaled and after that we had several operations: 2 eye operations (need 2 more), dental surgeries, 3 neck surgeries . . . Multiple unpaid medical expenses.

Nhtsa recall 19v547 -- I recently experienced the issue with my 2017 Audi A4 in which the passenger occupant detection system has become faulty. As a result of this issue, my passenger air bag will shut off as it is not detecting a passenger in the vehicle even when one is present. I contacted my Audi dealer who told me they were aware of this issue but did not have the parts to fix the problem at that time. This was over a month ago and remains an issue. With no other form of transportation, we are forced to drive a car without a passenger air bag intermittently. This is a serious risk to our family. I brought this up again to our dealer, they informed me that if I wanted to trade this vehicle in, they would give me a $500 allowance towards a new car. This does not solve the problem and even now they will not schedule my car for service as they do not have the parts to support the repair. This is a major risk to my family. It occurs randomly during motion. At even 30 mph a collision would render my passenger unprotected. I am not sure what I can do right now to keep this unsafe vehicle on the road.
This recall was issued in Feb 2018. I had my car at Audi, mohegan lake, NY for service in July 2018. Parts apparently were not available. I have not been contacted since for the repair. When calling 5/29/2019, I was told I would be put on a waiting list, which has appx 80 people on it. They could not confirm if I was already on from my July 2018 visit. This is dangerous and need a remedy.

Takata recall. I went to Audi melbourne FL 2 yrs ago and they said they replaced it. . . Three months ago I got notification that it was not a permanent fix. . . I took it back to them on the 15 of may and since then the light on my dashboard says that it is not working. . . It takes me 5hrs back and forth 2x and a day off work. . . I was told that they would charge me if it was not their problem. . . Well the light was not going on before and I was told the was not permanent fix either. . . I have grandchildren that I take from school. . . This is disgusting at best. . . They said they would have someone bring my car to them and leave me without a car tomorrow. . . Great how do I get to work. . . What is going on. . . What should I do!!!.
Takata recall- my Audi is at the dealership and they have not fixed the airbags that are defective and will kill. Takata recall dealer failed to do the recall. It's been a months now. So it's dangerous driving the car without fixing the airbag problem, in case of a crash. Dealer is Audi of peabody MA.
Takata recall.
I believe this is the same problem as recall #18v370000 but my car is not in list of recalled cars. With an adult in the passenger seat, a warning message says that the because of a malfunction, the air bags are turned off. A few seconds to a minute or two later another message says the air bags are on. This sequence can appear many times in an hour of driving or not appear at all for several days. I have verified with the dealer that when the message says the airbags are off, they really are off. So my passenger sometimes lacks the protection afforded by the air bags.
Takata recall Audi dealers in my area never have the required parts to complete the recall for nearly 2 years.
Takata recall dealer failed to do the recall they said they're waiting for Audi to send the part to them. It's been a months now. They also said the don't now when they will receive it. So it's dangerous driving the car without fixing the airbag problem, in case of a crash. Dealer is Audi fort washington, PA.
I've called multiple times to schedule an air bag recall fix but I keep getting blown off.
Takata recall -- since October 2018, I have been receiving messages from Audi that the repair is available and that I should schedule an appointment immediately for my safety and the safety of my family. Since then, I have made several appointments with my local dealer only to have each of them canceled due to the airbag being on backorder or otherwise unavailable. On January 24, I called both my local dealer, Audi eatontown, and Audi customer experience. The former told me that there isn't a single replacement airbag in NJ while the latter then extended the lack of airbag replacements to the entire us.

Recall has been extended time. Excessive notifications requiring consumer to check on part availability. Poor exchanges between Audi (recall servicer) and service provider. Mailings of cards, letters, emails meaningless if part allocation has not been made. Frustrated by the management of a critical safety issue. 9898l.
