BMW 328 owners have reported 51 problems related to air bag light on (under the air bag category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
After the car was serviced about a year and a half ago, the air bag light went on. When I took it back to the dealer, he said the sensors are really sensitive on the Bmws. I recently found out that this year and model had a recall on airbags. When I called the dealer they asked that I refer this to you guys because my particular VIN is not included in the recall. I am now constantly driving in fear of a airbag malfunction.

Takata recal - my air bag light is on. Evidence of moisture was discovered after further inspection by a certified BMW technician. This is inline will the current recall however I am being told that my VIN is not affected. I am extremely concerned about my safety in the event of an accident. What I am experiencing is exactly what is described in the recall and it should be repaired by BMW in accordance with the recall and the law. This is a major safety issue and needs to be resolved ASAP before something tragic happens. The recall needs to be expanded to include all vehicles that are affected by the faulty parts or installation of the air bags.

Takata recall?- my car is not on recall but airbag light displayed at 83,012 miles. They installed new seat belt receptacle at a cost of $362. 42. Airbag light came on again in 2 months- took it back. Was told they needed to check wiring or module. Cost for wiring $625 cost for module $1,315. Did not get it fixed. Seems to me airbag problems should not occur in cars. With all the airbag recalls, I was hoping mine would be recalled but no!.

We bought the car in 2009, at the time the milleage only around 30000 miles, seat belt and air bag light on, in 2012. We brought to BMW dealer, the service tech stated that we have to pay certain amount of money to diagnose it, and to change both of it will cost us thousands of follars. Please replace it. It will cost us thousands of dollars. Until today we still have they same problems because we can not afford it. I got some information from other people that many owners of BMW have the same problems. I am concerned with my daughter's life. She is driving it, we just hope nothing will happen to her. I would like you to please replace our car problems.

Through out the past month I have had my car towed three times with five occurances of the care not cranking and the electrical system shutting down leaving me stranded. Over the past year the airbag light has come on at least once a month for less than 5-10 minutes at the time. The first instance it was towed BMW of mobile replaced the battery after several days of trouble shooting even though I had had our local police department check the battery to be sure that that was not the issue. They charged me over five hundred dollars for this battery. Two days after the battery was replaced I had it towed again to BMW of mobile because the car would not crank again and the lights etc. Would come on. They kept the car for over 5 days running test then stated that "nothing was wrong. " I told them that I would not have had it towed if nothing was wrong. Two days later it would not crank again when my 3 year old daughter and I were at a late local highschool football game. This time they said that it was an electrical wire on the passenger side causing the problem causing something to melt near the fuse panel($1,200) to replace).
I am the original owner on a BMW 99 e46 328i and I m very diligent when it comes to the care of my car. I have made sure that every recall has been taken care of and any service requirement met. But my car was serviced three times for the air bag light coming on the first two times the dealer took care of it because the car was under warranty the third time I had to pay and now eight months later the airbag lights is on again after doing some research I have found that I am not the only one experiencing this problem all the BMW model line are experiencing this issue BMW issued a technical bulletin about electrical connectors that get oxidized and fail over time. They provide a solution in the bulletin but it is temporary fix since it requires me go back every six to eight months right. I submitted this complaint because. It feels like extortions that that every time the airbag light turns on I have to run to the dealer just to turn it off or run the risk that the airbags will not work when my life depends on it. .
