My car is a 2013 and was purchased in 2016; with milage at 78,700. On a cold start, a huge cloud of white smoke comes out of the right exhaust pipe. I took it to BMW for a diagnostic to determine the cause of the smoke. I was told it is a turbo feed line and if that is not it then it is the turbo charger engine as a whole. I was quote $5000 for the full repair on a car. I found a recall for the same issue on the same model of car, and I spoke with BMW about it. The recall is for the n26 engine and not the n20 engine which is on my car, even if it is the same make, model and year experiencing the same issues with the turbo charger. The recall needs to cover all engine styles from the same make and model because they are having the same issues. My VIN was not accepted and I was denied service help. Please I would like too attached to this vehicle VIN to a recall for a turbo charger failure. The recall was for 8 years/ 80,000 miles and my car meets those requirements.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 BMW 328i. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was white smoke coming from the exhaust tip. The contact stated that oil had entered the turbo charger causing the failure. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, offered no assistance. The contact mentioned that there was a voluntary emission campaign number: 166ea05 (engine n26) to replace the turbo charger oil supply lines. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
2013 BMW 328xi sulev. Consumer writes in regard to turbo failure. The consumer stated the vehicle started spewing grey smoke from the exhaust on some cold starts. The oil supply lines to the turbocharger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired the failure recurred.
I noticed that there was white smoke coming from my hood and air vents while driving. I took my car to the BMW dealer where they said that there's a a leak coming from my valve cover onto my exhaust that is causing the smoke. Parts and labor came to roughly $1500 dollars. I got a second opinion from my mechanic and he stated that my valve cover may not be defective but it may be my gasket and I just need the gasket changed. BMW stated that even though the gasket may not be the issue, they wanted to change the whole cover because they're known to break. They refused to change just the gasket. They are well aware of the issue and that it can cause my car to catch fire. They said that it was a quick fix and all the parts are available because they've had countless customers with the same issue. I am reaching out because I feel BMW is aware of the potential danger this issue can cause.

Exhaust started emitting white smoke during a cold start. Took it in to service and the oil supply line is bad and sending oil through the exhaust. $1500 repair. Meanwhile a recall was issued a few years ago for this vehicle but our VIN doesn't fall under it. ???.
Purchased a 2011 BMW 328i used it came with extended warranty the first issue I had was in my foot well module I came in from work parked car in drive way woke up the next morning to no headlights turn signals and car would not start I contacted BMW because there was a recall on the foot well module took car in to get everything checked out BMW replaced foot well module said everything was ok drove car home thinking everything was ok parked car woke up the next morning car was completely dead no power so I took battery to get tested and had to replace the battery also the battery terminal cause saftey terminal went off from there I replaced everything that was needed car has power but will not crank had it diagnostics said it was relay replaced all the relays in the car no start same issue had the crank position sensor replaced still no start battery good looked online to see that the frm could cause electrical issues which is clearly the issue but all problems to this point got worse since module was replaced by BMW dealership and diagnostics by them stating everything was ok. Ive literally exhausted my options of buying and replacing parts and the problem persist when I contacted BMW about the recall on the electrical problems with the foot well module instead of them just replacing a module and saying my electrical was ok when it clearly was not.

I have less than 39,000 miles on my vehicle, yet, the valve cover gasket is cracked. When the manufacturer recall was made public, BMW refused to check my car, because my VIN number was not on their list. My standard warranty expired, but my extended warranty only covers engine intake and exhaust camshaft. Is it unreasonable to request a valve cover gasket which seems to be damaged prematurely? I was driving when I noticed a little smoke and an odor. Meineke was the closest car repair nearby, and they are holding my car until I get a response from BMW.
Oil seeping into the turbo system causing moderate to heavy white smoke from exhaust at cold start up only.
