Loud Engine Noise Problems of BMW 328

I was driving down the road at 60mph the computer flashed low oil pressure, then drive train malfunction. The engine started making a loud noise and most complete power to car. Car had to be towed.

I was about a quarter mile from my home when my 2012 328 n20 began to make a loud sound coming from engine. The car also started to idle very rough. Check engine lights went off. I had the car towed to my BMW mechanic and they diagnosed an issue with the timing chain. They verified a noise and a very loose timing chain. Timing chain and guide repair was performed at a high cost. Mileage is 127500.

I just recently had to take my 2012 BMW 328i convertible in because of the engine was making a loud noise plus loss of hp. The technician informed me that the vanos solenoid bolts had broken off into the engine after doing more research into this I find that there was a recall on the vanos gear bolts. My question is do I pay for this repair?.

Tl � the contact owns a 2010 328i. The contact stated that when he turned on the air flow for defrost,heat or air, nothing happened and he heard an abnormal noise. The contact stated that the vehicle had exhibited the same symptoms as 17v683000 (engine and engine cooling) and 17v676(electrical system). The dealer (BMW of rochester (4250 henrietta rd, rochester, NY 14623) was contacted and stated that the parts for the recall remedy were unavailable so the vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2007 BMW 328i. While driving 65 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. In addition, while the vehicle was parked in the contact's driveway, a loud abnormal sound was heard and the contact noticed flames around the engine compartment. The fire department extinguished the fire and filed a report. There were no injuries. The failure mileage was 130,000.

7/1/16 I previously submitted a form & combined all complaints at once, the first issue I have had was rite after I purchased the vehicle from a dealer on 7/1/16 and 2 hours at 45mph on north view drive jackson, ms approaching the stop sign the car mad a loud noise as if it was a busted air conditioner, no ac on , the car stalled after the approach of the intersection and then check engine light came on the dash, the steering was hard and the car rocked a bit like it was the air conditioner. I had to put the car in park and restart in the middle of traffic but, it did restart. Called the dealer and issue was resolved I thought, the car had been driven 3 days prior to traveling florida and it was running ok in 35mph zones with the air on and a few moments on the highway with no problems. 7/10 mobile,al I-59s same issue happened as I approached and stay at a light in a 45mph zone, the only difference was no lights on the dash and no laugh noise. 7/16/16 jacksonville,FL beach blvd. Same issue after consistinatly being in a 45 mph zone for 25 min and approaching the signal light, once at a complete stop vehicle again powered off, no issues on the dash and once car was put in park it restored but started with the same loud noise from the two previous times. This vehicle has had a recall on issues like this in the past and the vehicle is unsafe, I am scared of accidents due to this issue and the vehicle is undriveable and unsafe.

1. ) vehicle had very rough idle while idling in neutral at stop light (0 mph). Tachometer was fluctuating rapidly between 500 and 900 rpm and the vehicle was shaking violently. Drove immediately to dealership, who found no fault codes and made no repairs. Vehicle drove normally afterwards. Odometer approximately 100 miles. 2. ) vehicle stalled while idling in neutral at a stop light (0 mph). Engine died with no shudder or any abnormal noises. Vehicle restarted immediately and drove normally afterwards. Odometer approximately 800 miles. 3. ) vehicle stalled again while idling in neutral at a stop light (0 mph). Again, it restarted immediately and drove normally afterwards. Brought vehicle to dealership, who found no fault codes and made no repairs. Odometer approximately 1500 miles. 4. ) vehicle stalled again while driving at 10 mph in 2nd gear while the engine was cold. Restarted immediately and drove normally afterwards. Again, brought vehicle to dealership, who found no fault codes and made no repairs. Odometer approximately 2050 miles.
